GTX 1060 - RM915
Intel i5 7600 - RM798
Asrock H170 Pro4 - RM428
G Skill Aegis DDR4 Ram 4GBx2 - RM262
Apacer Panther SSD 240GB - RM319
WD Blue WD10EZEX 1T - RM230
Cooler Master Elite V2 550w - RM195
Cooler Master Master 5 Case - RM403

Is this setup ok to run 1080p at 60fps on full setting on AA games? What can I cut to lower the budget and still get 60fps? Thx sifu2 for the advice. I won't be overcloking also.
*
note that 1060 has 2 variants, 3 and 6GB. which variant is that you have listed? 6GB can guarantee full setting and >60fps on most games due to higher cuda cores and vram than the 3GB.

Ah damn. Didn't know that
SLI mining at a faster rate compared to a single card biggrin.gif

But I found out that my 3GB card can't do SLI
*
Huh. I have never heard of that 6GB can do SLI too. At least my 1060 6GB doesn't have the SLI connector.

just saying though, anything below 5k budget for a rig but want to play current AAA games + future 2 years AAA games are unrealistic.

Nope. Intel got security issue.

Adata SX8200 Pro 1TB > 500gb 970evo
Seasonic Focus Plus 850W or Corsair TX850M > Corsair RM850x PSU
*
does it mean you're vouching for ryzen and avoid intel at all costs?

grab a 2060 like what tristan has suggested. AC is CPU heavy too, might want to top up till <=5.5k if possible.

What about if I topup extra +RM500? Any significant difference?
*
do you focus on gaming? if you're going for light gaming 1660Ti is already more than enough.
if you want more power on gaming though, +500 gives you zotac rtx 2060 amp 6gb at RM1599, no more than RM1650. if not you can go with the suggestion above.

Ah that does make sense.

I'd get the benefit of the GPU if the CPU isn't gimped.

Thanks for saving me some ringgit.

Help me with this question, under what circumstance would I get an intel over an AMD CPU if I'm building a new computer?
*
for now, no circumstance. AMD is the more powerful one with their Ryzen 3000 series.

Hi guys I would like some suggestions from all of you smile.gif

My current rig is this:-
Intel Core i5 4690K OCed 4.50GHz @1.25v
Corsair H100i Legacy
Asus Z97 Pro-Gamer
G.Skill RipjawsX 4GB x4 2133mhz
Aorus GeForce RTX 2060
1TB HDD
500GB SSD
Seasonic M12 620w 80+ Bronze
NZXT Phantom 410

For the upgrade I had purchased:-
2x 8gb 3200mhz DDR4
Seasonic Focus 650w 80 Gold
Z390 Aorus Elite (bargain purchase from a friend, market price was Rm8XX at time of purchase, I got it for Rm500)

So the issue now is should I go for Intel 9700k/9900k (save
up MOBO money) or a new X570+3700X (better overall performance)?

Thanks in advance smile.gif
*
wait so you've bought z390 mobo alrd? aww man, then just go get 9700K/9900K as you like. no point heading for ryzen if you want to yet buy another mobo for it. 9700K/9900K is actually, still, quite powerful.

Hi please help, im in dilema choosing right RAM. Im going to build:

CPU: 3700x
Mobo: B450 Tomahawk / Steel legend

as for RAM, i saw many of you choose "TRIDENT Z RGB (AMD)", is this good? i couldn't find this one in Asrock QVL list,if i go with Steel Legend can i still use it?

alternatively, im actually eyeing on HyperX 16GB(8GBx2) 3200MHz Predator @ 433. will this good enough?

Must i buy the kit? or any 2x 8gb will works?
*
if asrock couldn't support trident z from g.skill, then asrock really has problems...

the "kit" is just a filler noun and nothing much, just to explicitly specify a combination of rams that are designed to be combined and run on multiple channels unnecessarily.

you just need to make sure whatever RAM you buy is compatible with AMD CPU.

1. Look at the price you need to pay for performance RAM.
2. Look at the chart.
3. Check the percentage gain vs the price you pay.
4. Decide.

Yes, the gap is very small for most apps and games.
*
come to think of it, i can't really find and 3600MHz RAM which is CL17 and below in malaysia...mostly resides on CL18+
even a 3200MHz CL14 is rare here
