Go for 6GB. Zotac is RM1259 I think.
*
ZOTAC GEFORCE GTX 1060 MINI 6GB - RM1269(E Tech PC)

"Mini" doesn't matter right?

GALAX GEFORCE GTX 1060 OC 6GB - Rm1299(E Tech PC)
PALIT GEFORCE GTX 1060 DUAL 6GB - RM1332(E Tech PC)
ZOTAC GEFORCE GTX 1060 AMP! EDITION 6GB - RM1349(E Tech PC)

Additional RM300+ a little over budget for the system, any other recommendation for budget Rm1000? Prefer Nvidia GPU.. sad.gif

Its the cooling and factory overclock. To me, its either GTX 1050 Ti 4GB or GTX 1060 6GB. Game VRAM requirement will increase.

Oh..i see..thanks wink.gif

Means if you go Intel Coffee Lake (Z370), next upgrade in the future will be changing CPU, motherboard and maybe RAM again. AMD still supports the same motherboard and RAM till at least 2020.
*
You mean current coffee lake 1151 socket will be phase out soon? shakehead.gif

The usual Intel change of motherboard socket every 2 years (1 year for Kaby Lake to Coffee Lake). Future is uncertain though.
*
1151 socket has been using 3 generations of Intel CPU already.. hmm.gif

Besides that, if we use coffee lake processor, there is only 1 chipset Z370 we can use? its quite pricey sweat.gif Hope other 300-series chipsets will release soon..

Can consider getting GALAX 240GB GAMER L SSD for RM 199.00 (E Tech price). smile.gif Other than that, yeah that's probably the best you can go for Intel unless you want to opt for AMD.
*
If AMD, how much I can save? Although budget is 1500 but the cheaper the better..hehe..

If you want it cheaper, I suppose G5400 + H310 would probably be fine
Or consider Ryzen 2200g as a budget option

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbLyR0YYPr4
*
Can G5400 handle my usage? I'm plugging into 4K TV..can it handle 4K video? biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Kristal.S @ Sep 25 2018, 09:15 AM)
It'll be around the same price for AMD haha. If you want to save a few bucks, can consider H310M mobos as well. Search those H310M mobos out individually and see which brand/model's features suit your needs.
*
Alright. Will take a look H310M mobo wink.gif

Online resources seem to suggest that G4560 is already capable of handling 4k movies (provided your motherboard has HDMI2 or using DP to HDMI2 adaptor), but some tried G5400 and claim that HDR is still slow, so maybe do a bit more digging.

Meanwhile, consider reusing some older PC (as long as 2nd gen intel core i3 or better), and add a graphic card like GT1030, RX550, GTX1050, RX560 or even GTX1050 Ti instead. Then use hardware decoding for the 4k movies.
*
Thanks for your info..but mostly mobo i checked only supports HDMI 1.4b with max. resolution 4096 x 2160 @ 24 Hz / 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz.. hmm.gif

For processor wise, I think will stick to I3 8100..
Checked I3 8100 only support max DDR4 2400mhz..which mean even mobo support 2666mhz and memory 2666mhz..it still running at 2400mhz right?

New Ryzen 3000 series is coming soon..is it worth to get Ryzen 2000 series now? Intel CPU price is keep increasing lately..

Looking to build a rig for multimedia usage.

AMD RYZEN 5 2400G
ASUS TUF B450M PLUS GAMING(Choose this motherboard due to Viewnet promo at 469)
KINGSTON D4 PC2666 8GB x 2

If I would like to go for RYZEN 5 2600, what GPU that I can choose to on par or better than RX Vega 11 Graphics(come with 2400G)?

Max budget for these items will be RM2000.
-CPU
-Motherboard
-RAM
-GPU(if go for RYZEN 5 2600)

If your budget is RM2000, maybe consider

1) Ryzen 2400G + B350 mobo (~RM 950) *No need GPU
2) G5400 + H310 mobo (~RM590) + GTX 1030 (RM320)

For better performance, can choose
3) i3-8100 + B360 mobo  (~RM900) + GPU
4)) Ryzen 2600 + B450 mobo (RM1050) + GPU

Suggested to get GTX1050 Ti (around RM 750-850), then another RM 270-300 for 8GB DDR4-2666

Thanks for your recommendation.. notworthy.gif

AMD Ryzen 5 2600
Asus B450M-PLUS TUF Gaming
Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX 1X PC3000 Black 8GB x2
Cooler Master Masterbox Q300L
Powercolor Red Dragon RX 580 8GB
Cooler Master MWE Bronze 650w
Samsung 860 EVO 250GB

Going to get this rig next week, would like to know, if there any necessary to get 3000mhz memory for non-APU AMD? or just 2666mhz value ram will do? I need 16GB memory, its advisable to get 8GBx2 or 16GBx1? is dual channel memory still making a big diff in this age?

Hi guys
I'm trying to find a build for 4k movies playback (HEVC, high bitrate quality) where my current build failed to play smoothly. So I guessed it's time for an upgrade.
And it's for gaming too since its failed to play smoothly my favourite game Forza Horizon 4 and Assassins Creed Odyssey in 60fps.

This is my current pc spec:
Intel i5-4570
Nvidia GTX 770 2GB
8GB DDR3 RAM
128GB SSD
1TB HDD
Super Flower 650w PSU

Hardwares that I will re-use is SSD, HDD, PSU, monitor and case.
I dont know whether I should re-use my current processor or not because some one said this processor are sufficient enough for 4k movies playback.
My budget is below RM2k, might top up a little bit if necessary.
Thanks happy.gif

Intel Core i5-9400F Processor - 679
MSI H370M BAZOOKA - 465
Kingston 16GB DDR4 2666MHZ - 339

Total - RM2498(E Tech PC)

is it really necessary to use that motherboard for my requirements? hmm.gif

For me, i will always recommend to get a better motherboard.. wink.gif

Or you can opt for GIGABYTE B360M AORUS GAMING 3@RM369 wink.gif

Thanks for the correction.
Less than RM200. You can pick Cooler Master Hyper 212 LED Turbo.

Personally I will go with Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition.
*
Unfortunately, both Cooler Master cpu cooler cant fit my casing..my casing only allow maximum height of 155mm.. bangwall.gif
