QUOTE(hpares @ Feb 27 2024, 10:19 PM)
Thanks bro. Some question, as i refer to viewnet price list and not all available, if i swap

Mobo to GIGABYTE B760 B760M D2H DDR4 rm549 ( in case no stock )

Gpu to inno3d or zotac brand same spec/ or 4060 8gb (is it 8gb not enough nowdays?) ( in case no stock )

Nvme to kingston nv2 rm184 ( in case no stock)

Psu to  FSP HV PRO 550w rm 219 ( in case no stock )
Monitor to samsung LS27AG320/viewsonic VX2728J/ Aoc 27g2sp gaming (all  around rm650 with 160 hz, while dell se2722h is 75 hz)

Do you think it is  okay? I plan to buy all in one shop because easier to claim warranty if anything happen. Helping an 64 years old uncle to buy pc, and he is really into call of duty. 😂
*
Like I said, low budget. Very hard to pick parts....The issue with buying everything from same shop is some parts are overpriced.

Do not listen to salesman. RTX 4060 8GB... Still giving 8GB on 2024. Games getting really hungry with VRAM. Viewnet has some RTX 3060 12GB in stock. Rather sacrifice a bit of performance for VRAM. When you run out of VRAM, you get slideshow, or crap looking graphics.

Watch 8GB part here:

Kingston NV2? No Value V2! Forgettable SSD. SX8200 Pro will laugh at it even with PCIE 3.0. Go for WD SN580. Its the best DRAMless SSD available.

This is a rig suggestion thread. Asking for monitor is off topic. I don't really keep track with monitors, just randomly pick one.

Hello,

I'm trying to build a rig for my simulator game Football manager, no exactly graphic intense game & already figure out some of the stuff I want as below as I've seen recommendation by expert here except a few that I cant decide. I will get most of it from shopee and pay someone here to install for me,  I'm from Kuching, Sarawak so certain stuff like Casing I think I just get it here cos shipping is expensive for big stuff. Budget to keep below RM3k only for PC only

CPU confirmed!
Core i5-12400F - 599

MOBO can't decide between this 2, worth extra RM200 to justify the wifi feature or there is extra feature that worth it? I'm using ethernet but nice to have wifi incase I move my setup.

MSI B760M-E or MSI PRO B760M-A WIFI DDR4

RAM confirmed! Someone recommend me Apacer Nox instead, any different?
Kingston HyperX Fury Beast 8GB DDR4-3200 X2 - 184

SSD Confirmed!
Adata SX8200 Pro 512GB - 199

GPU
I will get a used gpu from my area saw a few selling RX6600 around RM700- RM800 from Facebook marketplace, I'm open for suggestion though.

PSU I need recommendation! Saw TristanX recommend MSI A650BN but I can't find it on shopee.

Casing I'll shops around my area or any recommendation from shopee I also dont mind.

Cheers and Thanks in advance!
*
Apacer Nox is 3 years warranty. Kingston is Lifetime warranty.

MSI A650BN?

QUOTE(hpares @ Feb 28 2024, 01:20 PM)
Thanks bro. Den i stick with 3060 probably go with zotac brand if unable to find the recommended brand.

For ssd i try to find from other shop for sx8200. Just knew nvme got 2 different type, and viewnet price list doesnt seems to indicate which one with dram and which one without.
*
You can try this...

QUOTE(myway1985 @ Feb 28 2024, 03:38 PM)
march price will up.. so u only left 1 day to decide

I7 13700 - 1900
B760m MSI mortar wifi D4- 899
32gb 3200mhz adata value - 330
2tb KC3000 - 929
Colorful rtx 4070 super nb - 3250
1st player 850 gold steampunk - 399
1st player mi7a black - 200
Thermalright pa 120 se - 170

RM8077..

if buy by tomolo... price still can adjust.. march confirm over this price
*
That CPU price... Might as well go 13700K or 14700K.

Samsung 990 Pro 2TB laughs at KC3000 with the price of RM849.

can anyone help to comment on this PC i am going to buy?

I plan to play AAA titles like howard legacy on reasonable settings on 1080p monitor.

do not wish to spend too much money on a graphic card as technology changes every year that every year the spec will be upgraded for the same price.

8GB from RTX 4060 going to give you hell for Hogwarts. And adding to the injury....single channel RAM and DDR5 with low budget rig!

Try

Core i5-12400F - 590
MSI B760M-A Pro Wifi - 635
Kingston HyperX Fury Beast 32GB DDR4-3200 kit - 330
Gigabyte RTX 4070 12GB Windforce (Super is around RM300 more if u wanna go there) - 2709
Kingston KC3000 1TB - 449
MSI A750BN - 319
Montech Air 100 case - 159

RM5191 total (Shopee prices)

Hi sifus, about to upgrade to a new PC since I've been using the old one for over 13 years but would like some help and suggestions on whether I'm making the right choices.

Plan on gaming with a 1440p monitor

CPU: RYZEN 7 7800X3D
Mobo: GIGABYTE B650 AORUS ELITE AX
SSD: SAMSUNG 990 PRO 1TB
GPU: Either RTX 4070 or buy second hand 3070, please advise
RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB 32GB
PSU: Not sure, would appreciate any recommendations
Casing: Not sure, would appreciate any recommendations
CPU Cooler: DARK ROCK PRO 4

Budget: Around 9-10K
*
Dark Rock Pro stupidly overpriced for the performance. Get Thermalright Phantom Spirit instead. I put my faith on MSI more than Gigabyte. PSU? NZXT C750

Casing? Lian Li Lancool 216, Lancool III, Corsair 4000D, Fractal Pop Air. Montech 903 Air.

How about the MSI b650 msi tomahawk wifi? Also would a RTX 3070 be good enough for most AAA at 1440p or is the 4070 a better choice?
*
Yeah, decent board.

8GB VRAM issue. Avoid any 8GB cards, so 4070 is the way to go.

Any other suggestion.... I was looking around garage sales section and found some legacy P45 or X58.. wondering if these chipset can works with W10
My objective to upgrade to Win 10 was due to recently our bank PBE had updated requirement for browser which leads to old (Windows 7) browser failed to work with their banking app.. so we need to get the OS updated....
*
Those are ancient hardware. Very unlikely it will support. I would advise getting at least Pentium G6405 or Core i3-10100 setup for future proofing . New Windows 11 also doesn't support a lot of old hardware.

This one is extremely value for money.

Core i3-10105 (i7-7700 in disguise) - 383
MSI B560M Pro-E - 320
Kingston 8GB DDR4-3200 X2 - 180

Well very thank you for the suggestion....I was also still wandering from that CPU which have LGA1200...just realized u post 1 combination.. that was 2x more then our budget...what about AMD will it cheaper?
*
If you cannot accept the reality of crappy ringgit and inflation, it is hard. Even the food today is already more than 5 times the cost compared with 30 years ago.

Recommendation is new parts. I've picked i3-10105 instead of Pentium G6405 because Pentium is currently ridiculously overpriced. Around RM320 for 2 cores, 4 threads. Pay RM60 more for Core i3-10105 that comes with additional 2 cores.

AMD?

Athlon 3000G. - 235
Asrock A320M-HDV - 199
Kingston 8GB DDR4-3200 X2 - 180

Wow.. looking at the spec still as of today.. Price for AMD vs Intel still the same as before so huge difference even I put G6405 in the line for 2 core vs 2 core.... Missed those time so much when u can get a decent CPU + MOBO + RAM for RM400 10 years back..
By the way where do u get all the pricelist and the product available? Seems like those pricelist website all already gone

Last time we used to have hardwarezone, lowyat net front page, navotech, thundermatch at least with hardware price list available.. without this I can't even got idea to match
*
Yeah, can't do anything about it. Latest motherboards costs even more. Depends on the performance level. AMD not always cheaper.

You can check prices from Shopee. Buy part by part and assemble yourself. C-Zone and Viewnet puts their price list on their website.

So while lurking on shopee looking for my AMD 3200 build.. I suddenly found this
https://shp.ee/cf6if6f
Seems like the whole PC only at 880 (w/out RAM and SSD) spec is better then i310100 and AMD 3200 I guess? Is this kind of PC a better bet since this is just for office use PC...
*
Nice find. Thats cheap. I wonder if the cooling could keep up or not. User reviews looks good though.

Do not buy the SSD. I smell crap ones from that store. Avoid any SSD that doesn't come with DRAM. Unless you like stutterfest.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B27...2gT4/edit#gid=0

RAM probably DDR4 SO-DIMM. Also, do not buy if that seller doesn't specify what he'll give. Ryzen loves RAM speed. I would advise a pair of DDR4-3200 SODIMM.

The con will be upgradeability. You have to buy entire set again when you need it.

1 -> May not work, because DDR5 only, unless you are specially talking about the D4 model, but if it's the D4 model then it's probably the best of the lot because of the inclusion of a VRM heatsink and 4 DIMM slots, and there's even a M.2 WiFi card slot if you plan to add WiFi in the future icon_idea.gif
2 -> No VRM heatsinks, rather barebone feature set
3 -> Somewhat similar to the second one, but w/ 2.5Gbit LAN
Those boards doesn't seem to max out your budget, I mean if you have that kind of budget this board is far superior than the 3 mentioned:
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/tmt-msi-...9345131248.html?

Much beefier VRMs with a heatsink and comes with WiFi 6E icon_idea.gif
*
This one even cheaper.

2x16GB Kingston Fury DDR5 6000 - RM600

Overpriced AK620. Get Thermalright Phantom Spirit instead. Destroys AK620 at lower price.

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/therma...irit-120-review

Or still lower price....

https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/...-120-evo-review

Samsung 990 Pro 2TB at RM799. I would that take over KC3000 any day.

See the chart a bit more carefully, the performance difference between a lowly Intel stock cooler and a 420mm radiator aren't large even if you remove the power limits (186 vs 183fps)  icon_idea.gif
People here are vastly overestimating VRM requirements for gaming sweat.gif

Looks OK, but definitely not the 7600 (the low memory bandwidth is going to struggle on higher end titles, like SIE's PC ports) icon_idea.gif
Get something like a RTX3060 12GB (Nvidia GPU tend to work better for emulation, due to better OpenGL support on Windows) instead, or stick with a RX6600 icon_idea.gif
What emulators do you plan to run?  If you intend to run RPCS3 you might want to consider AM5, due to support for AVX-512 icon_idea.gif

Alternatively:
Ryzen 5600 - RM508
ASRock B550M Steel Legend - RM549
2x16GB DDR4 3200 - RM405
ASRock RX7700XT Challenger OC - RM2278

Corsair 4000D case - RM359
Cooler Master MWE Gold V2 550W - RM319
Thermalright PA120 - RM139

Total: RM5012

If you do not need that much GPU power (but you lean into emulation more) you might want to look at AM5:
Ryzen 7500F - RM815
MSI B650M Gaming WiFi - RM678
Acer Predator Pallas II DDR5 6000CL30 - RM555
Gigabyte RTX3060 12GB Windforce OC - RM1339

I would just go AIO 420 or 480 if I want best cooling. Don't want heavy cooler hanging on the board.
