QUOTE(SnoopyDevil @ Sep 10 2017, 02:55 PM) Asus GL553V-DDM664T (Core i5) and GL552V-XDM409T (Core i7). Both of these are quad core. You still need to upgrade RAM to 16GB.https://www.sendspace.com/file/yktyod Just hunt for laptops with HQ on the back of the CPU model number. http://compu-zone.com/index.php/price-list...ownloads-in-pdf |

Need recommendation to built headless desktop for my virtualization lab.
[B][Budget]RM1.2-1.5k [Purpose] This build will be running 24/7, without mouse/keyboard and monitor. Mainly use for ESXi lab. [Hardwares that will be re-use] SATA HDD [Monitor resolution] No Need [Games & softwares that use frequently] - [Personal preferences] Lowest TDP possible. Support VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/RVI. Will start with 8GB/16GB RAM, with possibilities to max up to 64GB (at least 4 memory slot). No need for fancy GC, built in will do. [Location] Putrajaya |

QUOTE(xhakox @ Sep 11 2017, 10:45 AM) Thank you for this. Will try to discuss with the shop. I wouldn't recommend i5 cause Ryzen 5 1600 has 6 core and multi-threading for about the same price. It is unlocked for overclocking too.By the way, what can you suggest if I were to change into Intel? Same budget. But if you insist, switch these parts Core i5-7600 - 1011 Gigabyte B250M-D3H - 449 |

QUOTE(Doraku @ Sep 11 2017, 04:42 PM) I think 1800X for clock speed. His budget is huge. Build a rig that last very long.QUOTE(BxxMiD @ Sep 11 2017, 04:42 PM) Welcome. Plenty of room for adjustments. Like bigger NVME SSD, casing and Intel Optane 32GB (RM399 from Viewnet/Intel setup only). If the CPU backbone is overkill, wait for Coffeelake. Got rumor saying it is coming out next month. This post has been edited by TristanX: Sep 11 2017, 04:55 PM |
