Hi all, is it possible to have a laptop for rm2500 for video editing purpose? No need to have good gaming capabilities but a nice sound system would do

Definitely no. You need minimum of quad core and 16GB RAM for better video editing experience.

Asus GL553V-DDM664T (Core i5) and GL552V-XDM409T (Core i7). Both of these are quad core. You still need to upgrade RAM to 16GB.

Just hunt for laptops with HQ on the back of the CPU model number.

1600X is not worth the price and it does not come with cooler. And they gave you the usual overpriced Asus card.

Some refinement

AMD Ryzen 5 1600 - 1039
Asus Prime B350M-A - 445
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2400 X1 - 314
Zotac GTX 1060 6GB DDR5 Mini - 1309
WD Blue or Seagate 1TB - 210
Superflower Leadex Silver 550W - 359
Tecware Edge case - 199

C-Zone prices

6GB version is faster than 3GB. Super Flower will blow FSP away.

Need recommendation to built headless desktop for my virtualization lab.

[B][Budget]RM1.2-1.5k

[Purpose] This build will be running 24/7, without mouse/keyboard and monitor. Mainly use for ESXi lab.

[Hardwares that will be re-use] SATA HDD

[Monitor resolution] No Need

[Games & softwares that use frequently] -

[Personal preferences] Lowest TDP possible. Support VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/RVI. Will start with 8GB/16GB RAM, with possibilities to max up to 64GB (at least 4 memory slot). No need for fancy GC, built in will do.

Thank you for this. Will try to discuss with the shop.

By the way, what can you suggest if I were to change into Intel? Same budget.

I wouldn't recommend i5 cause Ryzen 5 1600 has 6 core and multi-threading for about the same price. It is unlocked for overclocking too.

But if you insist, switch these parts

Core i5-7600 - 1011
Gigabyte B250M-D3H - 449

Samsung 950 Pro 256GB M.2 NVME - 949
Seagate 2TB - 308
Super Flower Leadex Platinum 1000W - 829

RM18534 total (C-Zone prices)

For Intel, switch these parts:

Core i7-7900X - 4433

I think 1800X for clock speed. His budget is huge. Build a rig that last very long.

Welcome. Plenty of room for adjustments. Like bigger NVME SSD, casing and Intel Optane 32GB (RM399 from Viewnet/Intel setup only). If the CPU backbone is overkill, wait for Coffeelake. Got rumor saying it is coming out next month.

Well, you got overpriced GPU and crap power supply. Zotac GTX 1070 Mini is just RM200 more money. I'll assume any brand that doesn't send or no longer sends their product for review with history of bad stays bad.
