Hi, thanks for reply, most of the time just doing excel, programming, etc.
For game i play csgo and final fantasy xiv those mmo only, not battlefield those, so i assume 3k is possible to achieve this?
*
You can ditch the GPU if you want SSD (provided you are okay with low settings in games, will rely on HD630 for gaming).

Intel Core i5 7400 - RM 771
Asus H110I-PLUS - RM 356
G.SKill Aegis 8GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM - RM 285
Palit GTX1050 2GB GDDR5 StormX - RM 545
WD Black 1TB HDD (2.5" 7,200 RPM) - RM 309
Fractal Design Node 202 (with PSU) - RM 669

Total: RM 2935 (ETECH price inclusive of GST)

Hi sifu,

May I know is a single gtx 1070 able to run 2k resolution at max setting at least 60-80fps... looking to get a 2k monitor
*
It depends on what games you run and the processor you pair with it.

For example, an i5 bottlenecks GTX1070 in Tom Clancy Ghost Recon Wildlands heavily, you will notice massive FPS drop in city area. But similar configuration will just run fine in Overwatch because the games itself is not very heavy in terms of hardware requirements.

TL:DR, don't expect everything to run at steady 60 - 80 FPS in 1440p, i7 (or high end Ryzen) is recommended to power up the GTX1070 to eliminate CPU bottleneck as much as possible.

Need to know the full specs, CPU + mobo + GPU cannot determine the price.

Would i5 6600K bottleneck with 1060? Or vice versa.
*
Depends on the games you play, overclock the CPU if CPU is bottlenecking the card.

Hahaha,sorry about that😄

I7 6700k

Gigabyte gtx 1070 g1 gaming
Xigmates shogun 600w 80+ bronze
Samsung 750 120gb ssd

Too high for me, if it is around 4.7k I'll consider it.

Curious bout wireless display.
How to display bios?
How high is the input lag?
*
It is not really meant to take over the role of traditional monitor (and its connection), it uses WiFi Direct and traffic doesn't route through your router so latency is significantly lower, but then it is still prone to interference, signal disruption etc, cable is still the way to go.

QUOTE(aizatbadrul @ May 27 2017, 07:39 PM)
Well, the actual price when the pc is build reach around rm6.6k actually..hmm😶
*
I7 6700k - New i7 7700K is around 1.5k
Cyorig h7 - New unit is around 200
Asus z170 pro gaming - Leftover stock is around 750 (replaced by Z270)
G.skill ripjaws V ddr4 2400mhz 8GBX2 - New unit is around 600
Gigabyte gtx 1070 g1 gaming - New unit is around 2k
Xigmates shogun 600w 80+ bronze - New unit is around 350 but sadly this PSU is an overpriced crap
Samsung 750 120gb ssd - New unit is around 250
WD Blue 1TB - New unit is around 220
Corsair Spec Alpha - New unit is around 350
Windows 10 - OEM? Retail? OEM is cheap, you can buy from lelong, GS, 11street, lazada for just 50 (example)

Total: around RM 6300

Now lets talk about second hand market price.

I7 6700k - around 1.1k -1.2k
Cyorig h7 - around 100 - 130
Asus z170 pro gaming - around 500 - 550
G.skill ripjaws V ddr4 2400mhz 8GBX2 - around 450
Gigabyte gtx 1070 g1 gaming - around 1.6k
Xigmates shogun 600w 80+ bronze - similar grade PSU is around 150 - 200
Samsung 750 120gb ssd - around 150 - 200
WD Blue 1TB - around 150
Corsair Spec Alpha - around 250
Windows 10 - around 50

Total: around RM 4750

So, hdmi or vga for a 24" FHD monitor?
P/s: was considering 32" HD tv since gtx 1050ti is king of 720p but I figured the tv's input lag will be noticeable especially w/ wireless controller&K/B.
*
As I said earlier, cable FTW for total stability, TV's input lag is significantly higher than PC monitor, even on cable connection, so just forget about it if low input lag is important for you.

If i am to upgrade GC, i think im going with asus gtx1070 or zotac 1070. If the problem is mobo, any suggestions on what to get guys? Will it bottleneck? Thx guys
*
Mobo will not bottleneck the GPU, if you get a non-Z87/Z97 then you just cannot overclock your 4770K, that's it, if you don't overclock at all then this wouldn't be an issue for you.

QUOTE(Saladz @ May 28 2017, 11:07 PM)
Hi bro, thanks for the suggestion.

Made some adjustment (please comment):

Ryzen 1700
Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3
G.SKILL TridentZ RGB DDR4 2x16GB
Leadex II Gold 650W
Corsair HD120 RGB
Re-use GTX 750 Ti while waiting for Vega
Re-use Crucial 512GB MX100 SSD

Few questions:

1) I changed the mobo because i think i will not use all the features in the X370 - what do you think?

2) I also changed the ram from 4x8GB to 2x16GB as i may add another 2x16GB in the future, is this alright? Also, can this ram run smoothly at 3200MHz?

3) I also plan to have Ryzen 1700 overclocked 4.0GHz, do you have any recommended cooler?

4) Casing wise, as i put my rig on my left, is there a casing with glass on its right side instead? With RGB + good ventilation + cable management.

5) I also need bluetooth and WiFi card (Unifi 100Mbps), does the motherboard come with bluetooth capability? Can't find any info on this.

6) I have set my eye on BenQ Zowie XL2411Z for FPS Gaming. Can recommend me another 24 inch IPS monitor for work/movie/MMORPG/non-fps gaming purpose? Thinner bezel is a plus since i am using 2 monitors.

7) Is there any SSD that is considerably better than Crucial MX100 at IOPS and 4K speed but still remains in the budget range? Honestly speaking, i feel that the MX100 is still quite slow.

8) Do you recommend NZXT Hue+ with Aer RGB build over Corsair Lightning Node Pro with HD140 build?

Thank you.
*
1. Sure, X370 is recommended initially because budget is not being told by you that time (and I thought it is unlimited, nah just j/k tongue.gif )

2. Unfortunately the TridentZ RGB doesn't have 16GB x 1 kit in Malaysia currently, 8GB x 1 kit is the maximum you can buy locally right now, so you'll need 8GB x 4 to get 32GB (things might change in the future when distributor decides to bring in the 16GB kit), the native XMP profile speed is 3200MHz, whether it can run at native speed or not, well, it depends on the acceptance of the mobo and the CPU (bear in mind that some RAM models do have problem reaching their native speed in Ryzen platform before this).

3. You prefer AIO liquid cooler or air cooler?

4. Look for Corsair 600C, due to the design language of consumer grade motherboard, the layout of the rig will be inverted as the mobo has to be turned upside down for you to access to the rear ports, hence all the components in the rig will be upside down and might not please everyone, google the name of the casing if you don't know what I mean.

5. No, only mITX and super high end ATX mobo come with WiFi and Bluetooth card, you'll need to get an external adapter for it, look for AC grade WiFi adapter to fully utilize the speed of your UniFi 100mbps (make sure your router is 5GHz capable too).

6. Dell UltraSharp U2417H (matte)/Acer R241Y (matte)/Dell S2418H (glossy) etc.

7. If you think MX100 is slow then you really need to get onboard with PCIe SSD already, the mighty Samsung 850 EVO scores almost the same as your MX100, the PRO model doesn't worth the money either.

8. This is somehow related to personal preferences, pick the one which suits you more thumbsup.gif

Option 1: i5 7500, GTX 1060, 144Hz monitor

Option 2: Ryzen 5 1600, RX 580, 75Hz Freesync monitor

Which combo would you guys go? 144Hz monitor with a weaker cpu or better cpu but 75 hz monitor with freesync?
*
Option 1 if you are a FPS gamer OR high frame rate is very important for you.

Option 2 if you use the rig for some CPU related work like rendering/simulation etc.

No HDD to reuse? If got then you can swap the HDD below to an SSD.

AMD Ryzen 5 1400 - RM 819
ASRock AB350M Pro 4 - RM 399
G.SKill Aegis 8GB DDR4 2133MHz RAM - RM 275
GPU reuse
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 219
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 210
Casing reuse

Total : RM 1922 (ETECH price inclusive of GST)

And yeah, you can switch the PSU to a better quality one if you wish to do so but top up is required (since you prefer good quality stuff as stated).

Not recommended to get SSD when your budget is around 3k - 4k, focus more on other components first as you can always add in an SSD later on as an add-on. But if you don't mind the settings that you can run in games, then you can pretty much downgrade the GPU to something else (like RX570/GTX1060 3GB etc.) to fit the SSD.

AMD Ryzen 5 1400 - RM 819
ASRock AB350M Pro 4 - RM 399
G.SKill Aegis 8GB DDR4 2133MHz RAM - RM 275
Gigabyte RX580 8GB GDDR5 Gaming - RM 1379
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 219
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 210
Tecware Edge - RM 149

QUOTE(charsiupau @ May 31 2017, 12:42 AM)
Hi there sifus, recommendation for the following:

Budget:6k

Purpose: Gaming hopefully on the high end

CPU: i7??? (Not sure need overclock)

Ram:16gb

GPU: Gigabyte 1070 G1 / Zotac GTX1060 6GB GDDR5 AMP! Edition+ (With improved 9Gbps memory) - not sure how the 1060 perform against 1070

Casing: NZXT s340 (too damn nice in my opinion)

Monitor: thinking of Acer KG240A /Btw, would gaming be viable on 43/49inch 4k tv?

The rest no idea. Already have mouse and keyboard.

Planning to buy in June, or is it better to wait?
*
Not matter how fast is the GTX1060, it still won't be able to beat the GTX1070 which runs on stock speed, there is a gap in between all the models in Pascal lineup, it's no longer like an overclocked GTX970 would perform almost similar to a stock GTX980 like last time tongue.gif

TV has much higher input lag than PC monitor, since you plan to get KG240A which has a very very low input lag and high refresh rate, just forget about gaming on a TV, the difference between them is too big.

AMD Ryzen 5 1600 - RM 1039
ASRock AB350M Pro 4 - RM 399
G.SKill Aegis 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2400MHz RAM - RM 570
Gigabyte GTX1070 8GB GDDR5 G1 Gaming - RM 2079
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 219
EVGA SuperNova 550 G3 - RM 499
NZXT S340 Matte White - RM 335
Acer KG240A - RM 979

Total: RM 6119 (ETECH price inclusive of GST)

As you can see, you'll need to top up your budget to fit all the components, the existing one doesn't contain SSD and is using Ryzen CPU which is much slightly cheaper than i7 7700, if you want to switch to i7, you'll need more top up.

DELL Optiplex 9020 Small Form Factor(SFF) PC

- - Core i5 4570 3.2GHz

- - 4GB DDR3 RAM

- - 500GB Sata HDD

RM 1k

And

ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1050 Mini 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card
http://www.lelong.com.my/zotac-geforce-gtx...7-01-Sale-I.htm

RM 561

So total abt RM 1.5k something.

Is the card can fit?

My main goal is to have the best cs:go frame rate at 1080p.

Thank you !

Or what better rig should i buy with rm1.5k? A new rig with pentium g4560 ?
*
CS:GO loves high single core clock, so in this case, both of them (i5 4570 & G4560) will perform almost the same.

That Dell model only comes with 1 month warranty, better get a new rig based on G4560 tongue.gif

*
ETA June, some of them only got announced in Taipei Computex 2017 yesterday biggrin.gif

mATX case is still pretty big, I suggest you to wait for ITX if you really want a super small case.

AMD Ryzen 7 1700 - RM 1599
ASRock AB350M Pro 4 - RM 399
G.SKill Aegis 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2400MHz RAM - RM 570
Palit GTX1050 2GB GDDR5 StormX - RM 565
Corsair MP500 240GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD - RM 810
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 219
EVGA SuperNova 550 G3 - RM 499
Tecware Quad - RM 185
Acer R271 IPS - RM 869
Logitech MK200 Wired Combo - RM 75

Total: RM 5790 (ETECH price inclusive of GST)

The SSD is using PCIe interface, hence it is more expensive than SATA based SSD, heard that GIS software runs better with a faster disk drive (& decent I/O speed), that's the main reason why I included it.

If you have LGA1151 mobo already then yeah, it might be still cheaper than getting a full AM4 platform.

Single threaded operation is still much faster on the i7 7700 compared to Ryzen, if your frequently used apps are mainly single threaded then i7 7700 will benefit you more.

500W FSP Hexa

Whats the cheapest PSU and motherboard that I can get to run GTX1060 SLI. I got a spare GTX1060 6GB though, will it run well with the 3GB version?

This is purely for bitcoin mining via nice hash.
*
Bitcoin mining doesn't require GPU to run in SLI/CF mode, they all can run in solo mode and your mobo is able to support 2 GPU (first one will use PCIe x16 slot, another one will use PCIe x1 slot).

So what basically you need to change is PSU biggrin.gif
