Want to check is it worth getting this setup this month due to the price spike?
*
If you can wait, sure. Prices will fluctuate depending on stock also. But later will have to see if need to revise for new models coz old ones discontinued.

Bro, need an opinion here. I’m using Asrock H110M-HDS LGA1151 motherboard. I already bought i7-7700 proc but i think my mobo doesnt support it. It cannot boot at all even after i already update the bios? In my case, should i buy new motherboard that support i7-7700 or is there is other alternative for me?

Oh? It is listed https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H110M-HDS/#CPU
Have you have tried booting back with your Pentium skylake processor and see if the BIOS is correct (P7.30)?

Also if you have a friend with 270-series board then try your i7-7700 too.

And you can try reach Asrock: https://event.asrock.com/tsd.asp

Hi Guys, thanks in advance for your suggestion. Do you guys think possible to get 2060 with my budget?

[Budget] RM3K (Rig Only) additional 100-200 should be ok

[Purpose] Gaming

[Hardwares that will be re-use] HDD, Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor

[Monitor resolution] 1080P

[Games & softwares that use frequently] AAA Games

[Personal preferences] AMD, 2060, No SSD, Ram 8GB

*
RM3k is a bit low

RTX 2060 itself is like RM1650

If you budget CPU RM700 and motherboard RM350, left only RM300 for other parts...

8GB RAM RM220
PSU RM180
HDD RM 170
Casing RM 100

You need to budget around RM3400-3600 for a decent rig to match the RTX2060
Seagate Barracuda SSD is cheap enough to consider as well.

If you can save up another 2-4 months and reach RM4000, then also can have 16GB RAM, more reliable PSU and better casing to work in.

Hello all,
Need a gaming rig sugestion for my friend.

[B][Budget] 2.5k (rig only)

[Purpose] Gaming

[Monitor resolution] 1080p 144Hz

[Games & softwares that use frequently] PUBG, APEX Legends, far cry 5

*
Possibly need to go to RM 2700-2850... No way you will reach 144Hz on most games at high settings

(Viewnet prices mostly)

Intel i3-8100 + MSI H310 board = RM 780
Powercolor RX580 Red dragon 8GB = RM 1000
8GB DDR4 2400/2666 = RM 230
Seagate Barracuda SSD 250GB (online eg lazada has it RM 165-180)
Seagate 1TB HDD = RM 180
FSP Hexa+ 500W RM 159 (Or get Super Flower Silver Eco 500W 80+ Silver RM 265-280)
Decent Casing RM 140-170

What to expect with more RAM? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lStN_aPLwl0

*
I have the patriot burst with its 32MB cache on my secondary machine... it works well but you should also consider the seagate barracuda (RM 180) or Samsung evo (RM 240) for more cache and not that much more money

Pop over to Wisma Saberkas or OneTJ and ask for quotes on these parts:

Intel i3-8100
H310 motherboard
Ddr4-2400 8gb
Gtx 1050ti
Seagate Barracuda SSD 120gb

Casing that you like and will fit all.

If enough budget can go for superflower silver eco+ 500w

Hi Guys,

My PS4 BLOD on me, these past few days been gaming on my HP AIO and noticed the price of games on STEAM is very cheap compared to console. I figured, why not?

Please recommend an entry build, for starters 1080p max/med or mix settings at 60fps whenever possible, i dont mind 30fps cap (coming from console) and the cpu socket must be able to upgrade in the future.

Just for entry sake, my budget is RM1,100 without monitor, keyboard and mouse.
*
RM1100 is not going to get you enough PC muscle to play most stuff...

Ryzen 3 2200G + A320 board will be around RM580-620
RAM 8GB+ 1TB HDD = RM 400-420
Then get non-branded casing with 400W PSU RM 110-140?

Here you go... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi5vI9rTq18

Hi guys, can anyone suggest me a pc with monitor under RM2000? Preferably an AIO but any suggestion are welcomed.

[Budget] RM2000

[Purpose] Office production

[Hardwares that will be re-use]

[Monitor resolution] 22" minimum

[Games & softwares that use frequently] Office production

[Personal preferences] AiO

[Location] KL/Penang/Kedah

I think just plan for Ryzen 3 2200G on an A320 motherboard and 8gb ddr4-2400/2666
Then with 1tb hdd, 400w psu, any casing that can fit your mobo, and of course, whatever monitor and peripherals you can get with the balance

I have 2x240GB SSD lying around, but they are quite aged ago, should i upgrade to m.2 or just stick with it? any noticeable difference?

Also I am only using photoshop and lightroom without rendering to edit my photoshoot images, anyone knew if onboard graphic is good enough?

I just realised some Intel Processor does not come with cooling HSF. Anyone can recommend a rig that consume the least power and silent? Optional GFX card and m.2 SSD, at a budget of about 2.5k.
*
What drives are those? dramless?

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-ry...gpu,5467-9.html

I think with 2.5k you cant plan too much. But it seems that ryzen 2400G is probably a good bet, pair it with a B450 and 8-16 gb ddr4 2666/3200 mhz

You mean something like this?

BOXNUC7I3BNH (running on i3-7100u) RM1200
8GB DDR4-2133 RM189
1TB -5400 rpm HDD RM 199

It definitely wont be much cheaper... with size and portability being probably the only advantages.

The model is good, but kind of dated (released around 2006, I think). If you had it for over 10 years, it is about time to change to a more recent model that have better components, improved power regulation, etc.

I am using Gigabyte Z77-D3H mobo.

I moved oversea by plane and pack whole desktop PC and noticed that my time is set to 01-01-2012 sometimes when I restart my PC.

I assume this is mobo battery issue? Should I buy CR2032?
*
Usually is indeed due to mobo battery. Go ahead and change it.

Dear Sifu,

[Budget] - RM3,000

[Purpose] - Upgrading my rig that built in 2016 (gaming mainly 1080p)

[Current Spec]
1) I5 6400
2) Asus H170 Pro
3) 2x4GB dual DDR4 2133mhz
4) EVGA GTX970
5) Silverstone ST60F-ESB
6) WD 1TB Cavier Blue 7200rpm

[Monitor resolution] Full HD

[Personal preferences]
1) I wish to upgrade to 2060, can my processor still hold? Any recommendation on the card?
2) Is adding another 1TB blue or go with black better?
3) I wish to add another 8gb ram, will there be any ram compatible issue?
4) Is the Power supply sufficient for 2060?

Thanks!!!
*
1. Depends on the games, I suppose. The i5-6400 was pretty good. You should see some improvement still when upgrading from 970 to 2060. Else can upgrade max to 7700k

2. I would recommend getting an SSD. Your mobo supports M.2 PCIe SSDs. https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H170-PRO/specifications/

3. Add another 8GB? I suggest to swap the 4gb set that you have to a set of 8GB DDR4-2400

4. 600W sounds ok, but the model is a bit... https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Silvers...60F-ESB/11.html
Consider Corsair TX650M?

Yes... in fact, that is the preferred way to install Windows and Linux for most people.

Make sure to prepare your USB properly first:

QUOTE(neohwengtart @ Apr 7 2019, 05:24 AM)
Guys, I am planning to replace my current rig (Year 2013), after some researching, below is my list of parts (Around Ringgit Malaysia 6K):

1. Intel i7-8700 Processor
2. Cooler Master MA410P
3. Asus H370-F Motherboard
4. Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666MHz 8GBx2 (Total 16GB of RAM)
5. Samsung 860 Evo Sata 500GB (System and software installation, photos and videos editing work)
6. Western Digital Black 1TB (Gaming Drive)
7. Seagate Barracuda 3.5 in 3TB Sata-6 (Storage Drive)
8. Cooler Master V750 Gold PSU
9. ASUS ROG STRIX 1660 Ti GPU

The Rig is primary use for:
1. Microsoft office work
2. Web surfing
3. Photos editing using photoshop and Lightroom
4. 1080p video editing
5. Gaming (Overwatch, Hitman 2, Mass Effect Trilogy, Starcraft 2)

Reuse Parts:
1. Keyboard
2. Mouse
3. Samsung 24 in 1080p, 60Hz Monitor
4. Seagate External Hard Drive 3TB (Backup Drive)

Guys... Need advice on the researched parts, plan to purchase on next week...
*
Specs wise not bad... a few points to consider:

1. Remember to get a suitable case. Having so many HDD and components will need adequate ventilation too.

2. Depending on your needs, may need to change monitor to a more professional grade with colour calibration. Bigger 27-32 inch monitor may also be preferable if you have more budget.

3. Rather than 860 EVO, why not get M.2 NVMe drives?

Mainly for gaming purpose..

Using monitor single dell gsync u2716dg
*
With all components being the same, you have to ask yourself if you want to do overclocking.

Assuming prices are the same for both systems,
-If no overclocking, the i7-8700 is better for gaming
-if OC, the Ryzen 2700x should come out ahead, but it gets pretty hot and need to change the cpu cooler
