Yup, it's finally out. Lots of features are not available - like the speed limit icon - but all in all, it's Waze! smile.gif

So u r using sport mode?

Can sport mode be use when we in the middle of driving or recommended when just want to start driving?
*
Using sport mode and driving aggressively when you just started the car is a sure way of shortening your car's lifespan... Make sure the car engine is properly warmed up by driving a few minutes before you do any spirited driving.

The latest, long overdue and highly anticipated, Waze Android Auto BETA has been leaked by APK Mirror, so if you are not part of the Beta team tester, you can download and try it out from the link below:

http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/waze/
Waze - GPS, Maps & Traffic 4.27.0.1 beta

Do note it is a BETA version, so download at your own risk!

Installation Guide:
1. Install Android Auto (latest v2.4.7229) and Waze beta above on your phone. Delete your current Waze before installing the Beta version.
2. Launch Android Auto and Waze on your phone first - agree to terms of use, rate app etc2.
3. Use a USB Cable (mandatory) to connect your phone to your HU (1.5A on Driver side USB Port).
4. Click on the "Navigation Icon" on the bottom left of Android Auto to change from Google Maps to Waze. Enjoy Waze on Android Auto!

If you have any problems to use Waze on Android Auto, try:
1. Restarting both your HU & Phone
2. Close/Stop both Android Auto & Waze. Then launch Android Auto & Waze without connecting to the HU. Might have an uncleared pop up (terms of use, rate app etc).
3. Uninstall both Android Auto and Waze. Follow the above installation steps again.

Known Issues (From Beta Forum):
1. Voice commands: Custom Waze voice actions, like “Report Accident”, “Send ETA”, “Stop Navigation” are not yet supported.
2. Waze voice prompts are not muted while Android Auto speaks.
3. Auto zoom issues on high resolution screens
4. Noticeable lag when triggering an Android Auto voice command when Waze is not opened on the head unit yet
5. Waze terms need to be accepted on the phone after each new install (need notice on car screen instead of crash)
6. In some cases of car camera turning on (reverse, etc..) Waze closes and needs to be reopened again. <fixed>

Forgot to tag SackBoy. Now we don't need to wait for a hacked version of the HU. Waze is now available on AA - Still beta though quite stable and usable biggrin.gif

Nice! thumbup.gif  Been using the google map with live traffic enabled. Estimated time is quite the same like waze (well, same company).

Now the built in GPS seems useless  tongue.gif
*
Built in GPS not really useless. If you ever find yourself in an area with no coverage, or don't want to pay expensive roaming data fees in Singapore/Thailand, the built-in Garmin Navigation is mighty useful rclxs0.gif

If 1 side absober spoiled, it has to change in pair right? Honda Kah motor told me only change the spoiled one? Pls correct me if i m wrong
*
So soon your shock absorber already spoiled bro? What is the mileage? Or your daily drive has rough roads or carry heavy loads daily?

Anyway, you normally only replace the damaged absorber if the other pair is in good condition, but best practice is to change both at one time.

Managed to get Waze installed using bro isr25 guide. yes, some features are missing but then, it's a Waze. And since it's a beta version, expect some kinks here and there. not a stable version. use it at your risks. "ok Google" is not responsive when using waze. is there a way to make it responsive again?
*
Not at the moment. Need to wait for a new beta to fix the kinks out I guess. Some observations:

1. You can use FM radio with waze - but the radio volume will not reduce when Waze has any voiceover (same volume).
2. If you use any Music app on AA (Google Music / TuneIn Radio etc), the Music app will totally mute itself when Waze has any voiceover.
3. If you have Waze navigation route set to your destination, if you go back to HU Home - or put your car on reverse, and come back to AA, Waze will reset, but renavigate again to your destination automatically. Sometimes it will come on as a blank screen, and you need to reselect Waze - but even though blank screen, you can still hear the voice prompts.
4. If you don't have navigation route set, if you go back to HU Home - or put your car on reverse, and come back to AA, Waze will crash/force close. You need to reselect Waze again.
5. Waze direction distance countdown, does not tally 100% of the time with the one shown on the car speedometer dash - up too 300m distance before refreshing itself. Sometimes, the speedometer dash will crash and show the last direction and distance until you disconnect Waze and AA, and reconnect again.

As I said earlier, this version of Waze is a beta version, and there are lots of bugs. I will continute to use it though, and I will report the bugs above. Hopefully Waze will fix it with the next Beta release biggrin.gif

Thanks for sharing, do u need to open Waze app 1st or do so via AA? Seems when open via AA waze cant lock to current location and no navigation prompting direction
*
So far, I don't need to open any on my Android. I can plug it in to the car, wait for Android Auto to start, and click on the navigation icon. Never had issues yet, but I read some people on the Waze Beta thread that the situation you mentioned can happen.

V4.25.0.1 is a general Waze Beta/RC, and not Android Auto compatible.

v4.24.0.113 is still the latest Waze Beta compatible with Android Auto.

Anyone having rattling issue on the driver door when drive through uneven road or speed breakers?
Any solution to it or findings?

Driver side door, or the A pillar? Just go to the SC and they'll fix it.

Hello.  I want to ask,  is it wise to get tinted done at sc? SA said will tint it before i get the car key.  At least if there's any problem,  they will responsible for it.  Any comments?
*
If you want hassle free, then SC can apply the Honda approved tint (Ecotint & 3M). Most of us just do outside with no problems.

It's a CVT gearbox, so it will feel different from not Auto gearbox. The proof is in the pudding when accelerating / cruising.

Hi guys,

Anyone using Oppo F1 and facing problems even after following the above guide? If anyone with Oppo successfully able to get Android Auto to run on the HU, please do share. Appreciate it much!  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif

How about apple car play, any issues? If I still cant get my Oppo to work, might have to dig my old ipad mini out sigh...  sad.gif  sad.gif
*
Not sure what issue you are having. Did you successfully install Android Auto? Can you open the app on your phone?

Apple CarPlay is only available on the iPhone ecosystem... https://www.apple.com/ios/carplay/

Successfully installed and even had it connected. But when select a destination, it will black out and says "No device detected". Rebooted and tried again few times, same results. Also with Spotify or Google Music, the sound is distorted.
cry.gif  cry.gif
*
Sound distortion, if you search Android Auto and Oppo F1, there seems to be a few complaints online on that. So maybe Oppo F1 has problems with Android Auto? But just to confirm, try to:

1. Restarting your device
2. Closing both apps and launching it again
3. Uninstall and reinstalling again both apps
4. Use a different USB cable as wyk85 suggested.

If anyone can understand what i mean.
I dun like uphill like the engine working too hard... leisurely ok. no need to have rush of power or something like that.
*
Very subjective topic. What is adequate to me, might be inadequate to you. But so far, never heard of people saying the 1.8 is underpowered. The 1.8 engine has been used in Civics and HRVs for a long time. The 1.5T engine is a different breed though...

Fly down to KL laugh.gif but seriously, if you want the Civic and want power, 1.5T is the way to go. It's more fuel efficient than the 1.8 if you don't have a lead foot.

I am still unclear about the Civic 1.5 Turbo showing service indicator 'B'.

When my 10k service was approaching it showed Service Due Soon - A. Just after the 19k oil change service, it showed B when I collected my car. The SA said is ok, it will just show B for next 10k (oil change + oil filter). Is the SA correct? The Civic leaflet or manual explains otherwise, when the panel shows B, oil filter has to be changed. Dear Civic 1.5 Turbo drivers here, I would like to know your A and B indicators are as per mine or what SA said is correct? BTW I am going for 20k service in few days. Tks.
*
Correct. Service A (oil change) -> Service B (oil change + oil filter change) -> A -> B - A and B alternates

In any case, how much would someone need to pay to change their halogen lightbulb to something white in colour - or even LeD bulbs?

No leh, mine also 1.8s.. I kena when open the door from the inside, getting out and when want to close the door.. touch the outer door panel.. will kena shock.. or sometimes getting out, my shoulder too close the B pillar also kena shock. Not painful, but if frequent can be very annoying.

Plus I fetch my kids, so not sure if will shock them too. It might just be me.. different static charge to the car..  sad.gif  hoping to see if other owners get it.

Btw, does those Pivot Raizin grounding cables work? or myth busted, just gimmick ?
*
QUOTE(andyshim89 @ Jun 14 2017, 11:37 PM)
this is because the fabric of seat and your cloth contact and rub together produce the static..even a viva also can make blue spark once going out the car and close the door
voltage stablizer no relate with this static..
*
I think andyshim89 is right on this. Mine has leather seats, so I have no issues with static. My biggest concern on this static electricity is during pumping fuel. Please take care to discharge the static electricity before you pump fuel, and avoid going in and out of the car (may cause static charge buildup) while pumping the fuel.

Mythbusters did this episode. If too long, skip to 3:58
