QUOTE(isr25 @ Dec 31 2020, 08:26 AM) note: A nice surprise by the Australian Institute of Petroleum where I get the MOPS95 graph below - looks like they are in operation this year end when they normally go on a 2 week break. Calculation and table of estimated prices can be found at this link: https://goo.gl/cpYiBNIf calculating 24/12 to 30/12 cycle (Thursday to Wednesday - weekends are using Friday prices), the actual retail price for RON95 & RON97 should be RM1.79 and RM2.09 respectively (±1 sen). If we follow the Automatic Pricing Mechanism and Sales Tax Act, the government is allowed to "tax" us higher by 60sen per litre for petrol products sold. For the past few weeks, the government applied a hidden tax of approximately 5 sen. Thus, I estimate that RON95 and RON97 would increase by 4 sen from last week to RM1.84 and RM2.14 respectively (±1 sen). If only this increasing fuel price can somewhere improve the oil & gas industry. Many had lay off after this fuel price getting low throughout 2020 combo with pandemic. From what I know even petronas had some projects/ major project stop or delay to future due to current situation mainly oil price. This post has been edited by ayamxxx: Dec 31 2020, 09:43 AM

QUOTE(Captain89 @ Mar 18 2021, 02:11 PM) Preferably ron97 for better performance. Those engines if damage will cost a boom rather not to risk 😂 Use 97 starting this month due to contest by Petronas - Setel 😆

QUOTE(muhammadb @ Oct 6 2021, 06:39 PM) Gov is creating a sort of like “fake” economic environment where inflation is capped with the heavy subsidies on ron95, cooking gas, cooking oil, electricity and etc whilst other countries are grappling with energy crisis now. How long can we last without embracing inflation. Bulk of the ron95 subsidies still goes to people who drive big cars/motorbikes, not the common folks or poor people. I would understand now that Pak Lah idea maybe work best, no subsidy for petrol but give cash for eligible people to use for subsidy petrol. Cons, harakiri politicians and all price gone up crazy

QUOTE(MGM @ Feb 11 2022, 08:53 PM) If RON97 is RM5, u think govt will keep RON95 or diesel at current prices? I believe they will start discussing now on to reduce the subsidy for petrol. But since the gomen also not so stable, plus potential next PRU, they will have no ball to done it

QUOTE(isr25 @ Feb 25 2022, 07:50 PM) Full Tank for Shell V-Power - which is RON97 - is already RM200 for most cars. luckily all my cars required a 95 only. Remember, both 95 and 97 had a similar package of Fuel Additive if it BHP. So i tend to keep using BHP most of the time.

QUOTE(shah_ho_nam2 @ May 17 2022, 10:20 AM) bizarre it's a battle between the cleaner 97 against the famous 95 then there's this question, does 95 has long term effects on TSi engines. or the mixture is good only for N/A for BHP, Petronas, and Petron shown their additive package are identical for 95 vs 97. So safe to say put 95 alone also ok for engine cleaning. GDI dont say cz it will had carbon deposit doesn't matter with 97 all time

QUOTE(shah_ho_nam2 @ May 25 2022, 06:07 PM) technically is only the label la? Both had similar package, quantity and quality of additives. To say put 97 will make the engine cleaner is not correct.

QUOTE(voscar @ May 29 2022, 12:14 PM) For me, my current working place at PJ not possible to take public transport, quick Google map direction showing single trip require 40 mins of walk + 20 mins of LRT. Round trip per day would be 80 mins of walk, not possible la. If working office are those KL area with nearby LRT access, I'm happy to take LRT, been done that many times. Of coz the better option would be alternate WFH, but you know many local Bosses still insisted to come back office even though our job nature can WFH + onsite if required. My working place is at PJ, stay Kajang. So take MRT combo with LRT, sharp 1 hour arrive Asia Jaya LRT from Kajang MRT 1st station. Need to walk 10 minutes from lrt to office. I get 6k steps per day using this. Drive is not possible in my case to get 1 hour drive, traffic jam worsen lately.
