Your m8s is red light or blue light when on?
Red means brick as in can't even boot.

Challenge here is finding the right firmware.

i am in kl, still figuring out how to reset, mine have blue light on, just stuck at logo of mbox, then restart again.

Hi, do you able to use latest iflix app on this? mine can't even reach the login page (after the notice i have reach 5 devices allowed on TM IP (free 1 year) and need to login to my paid account).

Hi, sorry i should have more clear. Yes it's the latest minix u9-h. Been using minix since x8-h+ and then u1 and the experience is very good box for anything, never turn it off for months sometime and dont have any issue. The current u9 is full of bugs but the dev/manufacturer mention about current u9 firmware maturity is at the level of 11th u1 firmware (which is really good).

What sort of bugs? Sounds like despite the wait, they still pushed out without a stable firmware? Well, good news is they'll squash most of em in coming firmwares.

Perhaps you can send them the iFlix apk and let them fix the firmware for it...tell them it's working well in U1 etc

Full of bugs may be a little over reacted, there is no rush if the dev did not post that statement, it usually takes 3-4 month from product launch with 2-3 or more firmware update to get the stable firmware.
It completely no issue and stable for my usage on kodi (streaming fom nas, some addon and live tv using vu+ pvr addon). But cant use iflix app is the big issue, isnt iflix is like our netflix? at least for other users in my home. It is like streaming box that cant use netflix.

Hi, thanks for your link. I actually have paid yearly account that has paid twice already (renew on merdeka promo last year for only RM48), it created since iflix launch long before they introduce TM free 1 year. It just sometime the app log the paid account out and auto load the free one without login, so i keep using the free one. The U9 box don't even show the login page after i clicked "sign into another account" and keep loading. Both account currently working just fine on U1.

out of curiosity, i just did a experiment...

i have the max 5 multiple devices running iflix... android 4.4.2, 5.1, 6.0.1, 7.0, ipad... unifi free one, no login/pw ever required.

1 of them was installed just a week ago, another 1 month ago - both auto detect, works good.


i removed a couple of them.

installed iflix on new device (phone android 6.0.1), got same message as yours, "max 5, please boot one out...", keeps loading, nothing happens.

i then went back to the 2 devices where i had earlier deregistered, removed. no question asked, works good again.


i doubt it is the device or device's firmware causing this.

i remember reading somewhere it takes a day or a week for the iflix system to reset the unused slots, then only allow new device.

i have now 4 devices in use, try again in a few days to see if it will work on the phone.

Thank you for your very detailed test, really appreciate it. I have also tried anything that i can think off.

- Clear the attached devices from free account, but did not work on U9. Tried on phone that never attached before and working just fine.
- My paid account did not have any attached device, so i try to login the normal way. Spinning forever after clicked "login to another account" before cleared the devices list.
- I have also tried using Thailand, Philippine and non TM Malaysia IP address (to bypass the free auto login) and this is working just fine one other devices that i tried (Stumbled upon Fairy Tail anime Tagalog dub during testing and confirmed iflix also has different catalogue for different country). After open the app, it will go to the page with "star your free trial" and "login to your account" page. No joy either.
- Also tried 5 latest iflix apk from apkmirror with the same result.
- Every single different test above is done after clear the iflix app data, uninstall, reboot and reinstall.

from pc browser, find iflix, click, it came on auto, played, no problem at all.

from "menu/devices", it does not even show it is playing on my pc!


tried the phone again - no good, still same message, nothing loads.

also, i notice 2 boxes i have iflix installed works under the same device account!


i now start to think this iflix "no of devices in use" is faulty, can't track properly.

hence, some devices work, some don't...?

Yes, that may be possible to caused this issue. One more to the firware side, some early minix firware (U1) left something that will indicate the box is rooted in the past (even is wasn't), that time iflix don't gave any error (not sure the date they added the term about rooted phone cant be use with iflix app), but fixed after 1-2 firmware update.
The root phone behavour on my 1+3 was it can show the login page and can process the login, after that it will shown half loaded home page and will keep reload non stop.

The same for me, PC login will never show up on device list, i guess it only for installed app (android/ios). Also this is my first time experiencing failed to even login on all the android phone and boxes that i have tested. For some, it will only fail to start the stream with some error message or black screen with no error.

Is there any users here with other S912 box here? That will be great comparison to troubleshoot this particular issue.
