QUOTE(voncrane @ Apr 14 2017, 10:22 AM) That's cuz Himedia has a "wrapper"... Custom code within the firmware to tie Kodi in & smoothen things.. I didn't install "Wrapper" maybe the new firmware has it fixed but I don't have problem watching 4K 5.1 vid. haven't come across 7.1 yet. This post has been edited by OCMAX: Apr 14 2017, 01:15 PM

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 14 2017, 11:31 PM) himedia wrapper misunderstood here! himedia wrapper is for q5/q10qro (hisilicon) android7 kodi17 users, built especially for minix users who insist on usb playback with kodi for artwork reasons and do not want to make use of the superior native player after paying for it! not applicable to h8+ and all other models. You are too late. I tested the "wrapper" I restored my back up after that.

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 14 2017, 11:35 PM) ha.. did it do any good at all? for kodi17 playback and online streams... i mean for dd/dts? worst. KODI cannot start. hahahahaa My unit running fine without it. Can play 4K DTS 5.1 no issue. The latest firmware update tackle a few things. The Audio track switching and playing 4K 60fps with the stock player are so much smoother. I tried online 4K DTS 5.1. I think Skynet & Project M has a few good 4K DTS 5.1 This post has been edited by OCMAX: Apr 15 2017, 12:29 PM

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 15 2017, 12:52 AM) your h8+ is quite a good box. it is as good as the equivalent Q series except for the native player. i would say H8+ is somewhere between Q16 and Q5/Q10pro. yeah! that's another reason I bought H8+ is because I used portable drive. I felt no point adding the HD into the unit and is not flexible if I wanted to add files into the drive. (ext drive file transfer are much faster) I have AirPort Time Capsule which I used for air transfer for backup drive. by using ES File Explorer Manager-PRO I can setup google drive & apple airport to transfer smaller files over to Android box. QUOTE(Lurker @ Apr 16 2017, 04:57 PM) Is it possible to remotely control Android box? Tested TeamViewer, didn't work Yes! I posted a upload file earlier. It works with both android phone and IOS device. For those that are interested. It's a freeware. There are 2 apk files you need to install. One install to the Android TV BOX (tv client), another to your smart devices. This post has been edited by OCMAX: Apr 16 2017, 05:34 PM

QUOTE(GuyM @ Apr 17 2017, 08:33 AM) Just wondering, if using this settings, would one be able to access most channels on Mangotv and Kodi? What kind of TV channels you wish to watch? There are free live TV app that doesn't have geo-block. QUOTE(lovemath @ Apr 17 2017, 09:08 AM) Hi , is anyone here heard about a new tv box which they claim only pay few hundreds for life time. If you get 3 people to join then you will no need to pay that few hundreds. You can watch all channels including astro channels. Kind like pyramid system. I also forget what the box name already. Anyone knows about this? free astro channels? even the paid IPTV are blocked by Astro. This post has been edited by OCMAX: Apr 17 2017, 09:35 AM

QUOTE(biggie @ Apr 17 2017, 01:19 PM) Thank you, ...where is my km8 pro... Lazada I will only install Exodus, Quarsar and SALTS as addon, tested on phone it works... confident to do with others. HyppTV also. I am keeping Astro for sports. Any others that is good and recommended? I and family do not watch indonesian/korean/mandarin/hokkien drama. Have few more days to learn on how to do.. and practise add this source. http://cthlo.github.io/cthlo-kodi-repo/zips/ - icdrama after that go to icdrama and install the latest zip file. QUOTE(lovemath @ Apr 17 2017, 01:31 PM) i wants to compare with the skybox homelinux , the illegal satellite tv box.. oh its a scam? Do you know the name of the box? as they claimed that free for lifetime. I not sure how true is that... What I know is those pre-installed apps that can watch A*tro is no longer working due A*tro recent crack down. I has a subscribe IPTV which also has AOD. but now only Wah *ai T*i is working. QUOTE(dwRK @ Apr 17 2017, 02:25 PM) It depends on ping latency I guess...mine's OK n acceptable with wifi & 4G...it's designed for enterprise deployment, not really designed for use within the home. On Android no issue when I reconnect. Wukong is probably similar to HiControl, for use within the same home network/subnet only. The signal never leaves the house right? Yeah! only within the same network. but Wukong has iOS IPA from iTunes/appstore. hicontrol not available for iOS This post has been edited by OCMAX: Apr 17 2017, 02:49 PM
