Yes, that's right.

Will check.. i asked the seller to update firmware and the kodi. My kodi now is v18.

Btw i think i heard b4 here saying that the default kodi from minix is optimized for minix. Should i be using that or use the latest official kodi?
*
My box is installed with the Kodi from Google Play, all well.

I believe some of us here are using Astro Go app and hoping any kind soul can tell me if you are also facing with such issue. So far, I have tried on Minix U1 and my LG V30+ mobile phone. Previously it was working flawlessly. So, I just realised the app will crash if I expand the On Demand videos. I have no issue watching those shows listed on the main page though but once I expanded the list by clicking "See All", that's when app will crash. I don't recall such issue because I was still watching it few days ago. Earlier my box was on 8.2.4 and I have updated it to the latest 8.2.6 which my phone is using but still having same problem on either version.

Can you please try and let me know? I have cleared cache and data, uninstalled, reinstalled and restarted devices but still not crashed. I tried on my iPad and everything is OK. So it could be just Android devices... I foresee I will have a miserable CNY. sad.gif

If you meant Show All instead of See All, then on mine it's loading okay.

I have left my comment on Google Play and contacted them via Astro Go FB Messenger. Please do the same too so that they are aware it's not an isolated case.

On my android device and v8.2.6... Switching to the On Demand tab, scrolling through and there isn't a "see all" or "show all" button for any of the categories there. However, on the homepage, there are "see all" buttons. Here, all categories "see all" button works as intended except the "Complete Series" category. Tapping on this causes the app to crash.
*
That's weird. You do not have "See All" button?

Crackdown on unauthorised sites

The days of accessing illegal streaming content through Android boxes are numbered as Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry are cracking down on these unauthorised sites.

To date, MCMC has blocked 246 sites providing the unauthorised screening of movies, documentaries and news over the set-top box.

Yes, stick to Astro. I continue Astro subscription for my folks at home while I get to enjoy Astro Go account from their subscription. Even sometimes they have issues with Astro and my siblings and I have to visualize the problem to provide solution over the phone. Something not nice to do especially during working hours, can be quite frustrated. Our parents also feel bad to disturb...

Streamyx 4Mbps? Can't do much for streaming if others are also using the Internet.

Minix WiFi is really good, even my current box which is an old model - U1 works perfectly when it comes to WiFi.
House on 500Mbps UniFi, router at upstairs and connected to 5GHz, can get 280Mbps.

No piracy talk here, the only legit way is to use Astro Go app but only if your box allows to install it.

Used to own minix u9h, very satisfied with it except its not netflix certified. Figured that using it only for streaming is a bit of a waste.

Bought a Mibox S then. Sure it's not as snappier as u9h, but have no issue running 4k netflix youtube etc. Highly recommend this box if ur main usage is streaming only.  icon_rolleyes.gif

That's what I thought too. Next year I will move into my own place and plan to buy a 4K TV to enjoy 4K contents. I'm a lazy bum, so won't be doing any downloads. Gotta straight stream 4K shows via Netflix and YouTube, I'm also interested in MiBox as it's Netflix certified and pretty affordable. Since it's not rooted, I will assume it can run Astro Go and UniFi TV app.

Now comes the dilemma, my Minix u1 works perfectly but like you said except it's not Netflix certified. I'm wondering if I should buy a smart TV to run 4K Netflix and YouTube while maintaining the Minix for other purposes. Or just buy a normal 4K TV and Mibox but gotta abandon my Minix. Sigh. sad.gif

If for 4K Netflix and YouTube only, I suggest you straight buy 4K HDR smart TV.  It is unnecessary change your current TV box.

By the way, now 99.99% 4K HDR TV came with support of Netflix and YouTube in 4K. This thing is already a standard for all new release 4K HDR TV since last year or last two years.
*
Yeah, because I only watch these two stuffs in 4k. I'm not sure what else out there that has 4k streaming stuff, let's say free legal ones. laugh.gif I only subscribe to Netflix UHD now as I share with three friends. tongue.gif

Sorry to OT a bit, I'm a newbie in TVs, so did you mean I don't even need a Smart TV to run these two apps? Wah, I'm so outdated. If that's the case, I should just buy a normal 4K HDR TV and maintain the Minix U1, correct? This is the best option for me and can save some bucks for better audio. thumbup.gif

Hi. Most new 4K HDR (kindly get with HDR support model) is smart TV. They is very less normal 4K TV for those branded TV.

Below is common OS bundle for 4K HDR TV. As long it is within following OS, then it fulfill your requirement.

- Sony (Google Android TV) - Not all model
- Sharp (Google Android TV) - Not all model
- Samsung (Tizen)
- LG (WebOS)
- Panasonic (MyHomeScreen)

My smart tv already has netflix & youtube 4k but I still bought the mibox, so only 1 remote to be used instead of changing tv mode & remote everytime u need to change app. Astro go works fine, not sure about unifi tv. Using minix neo a3 as my airmouse with mibox.

Wait for the flash deals in lazada, got my mibox for ~RM220 only shipped from china.

No need to think much.. Buy a truly smart UHD HDR TV and you won't need to switch for Netflix and YouTube 4K.. Use the TV for that and everything else on the Minix. Though by then, it's advisable to upgrade to the Neo U9-H or similar box that handles UHD and HDR content better. The Neo U1 doesn't... It's just excellent for 1080p.
*
Thanks for the information! Now I got it and will go for Smart TV + Minix U1 route. May upgrade to U9-H if I can find a superb deal by then, otherwise my usual streaming is only 1080p by the way. Only Netflix and YouTube will have 4K, in my case.
