Either wait for Dune 4k pro ultra or may be Oppo 203/5. Don't know Oppo can play be menu or not. Pioneer cannot play bd menu so it is out.

u can configure htpc boot up to kodi,
kodi album art + metadata is directly pull from internet or u can write it urself with nfo file

ssd booting is fast, u can install linux variant for htpc... even faster...
but i didnt try it yet...

ohh the mouse keyboard tat i mention is this kind...

it is mean for ppl who need alot of hdd space (nas) + blueray player + 4k hdr12 +3d + netflix 4k + audio dac + itunes + browser + gaming
(i think can even youtube casting, and miracast... not sure)
this is all in one devices!
supposed to be cheaper than own all the devices combined...

keke htpc is indeed expensive and overkill compared to what he needs...
any rm350 to 1k tv device will do.

ps: audio dac, u didnt read wrongly... i heard nvidia hv buildin dac capable of 24bits 192kHz 😱

especially security patch, this is their major concern...

even certified by google do u expect manufacturer gv u firmware patch every now and then.
they will forget u after a year or so...

that why most ppl prefer custom roms/firmware to get continuous update

what u need is a reliable manufacture that can release regular update

i know many smart tv (not android) no longer get update for their tv after 1 to 2 years... many app like youtube no longer works...
one of the tv manufacture is LG.
did they get google certification? yes they do...
but after warranty cycle, youtube oso cannot play...

is this cikai tv?

Just to share my experience, my job do relate on TV I have seen alot high end and low end TV daily..
These HD full HD 2k 4k all can consider over exaggerated..
I couldn't denied that there is different, but not as what normal people expect..
For ordinary people, if you put side by side 2k and 4k with 40 inch TV they can't differentiate, it depend on colour they meets their taste.
You can notice the diff when the size of the screen is big maybe over 50 inch..

lets said 1080p monitor oni able to fit 1excel sheet,
2160p monitor able to fit 2 working worksheet lo

of coz 1080p able to fit 2sheets if u wan...
but if u do it, the font is blur and not sharp... bcoz they not 4k

2. if ur tv box support voice remote, change the speech recognition to china mandrain... (i banana, so i tested on cantonese oni)
- very important for voice search
- use phone for voice recognition hv higher success rate

3. youtube hv alot free china tv series and varity show... minimum 720p
- 10years cannot finish watch

No need PM... 100% legal channel.
all belong to broadcast station.

1. Some TV Series all region locked.
2. Many NEW TV Series are free while other need 3months to 1year to unlock. (especially licensed to astro/local tv channel).
3. If Eng Sub TV series is locked. Tipsy: Look for Non-Sub version... eg Nirvana in Fire.
4. Most Eng Sub are not hardsub, u need to enabled youtube subtitles.
