to me DSi is much better... a bit bigger screen, better sound, camera, better menu, better wifi connectivity, downloadable dsiware, able to directly upload pics taken with the cam to facebook, sd card for music, and possible dsi-only games...

the only con is that it has no gba slot as i'm a huge fan of guitar hero.. so if gba is your big thing, definitely lite is for you.. but if you want lite features plus something more and better, then dsi for you

hey,
i download some of my music through limewire and NDSi can play AAC files only, no mp3. So can my limewire doanloaded music be converted to AAC and still play at the NDSi ?

Added on January 26, 2010, 7:26 pmdun worry found the answer on yahoo.

It reads:

I know a software you can converter music to aac without itunes.
"DSi Music Converter AAC tool is an awesome dsi music files converter to aac music format from itunes music, windows media music, limewire music or other music from CD, downloaded from the internet, or bought from online music stores or from any video files that you want to extract AAC audio for DSi. Using this DSi Music Converter software to AAC software, you can conveniently convert all your music and video to numerous players such as DSi, iPod, PSP, Zune, Creative Zen, Archos, etc. Try AAC Music Converter now to find out how easy it is to do dsi music convert to AAC."

I'm going to buy a nintendo DS for my nephew tomorrow. I need to clarify something from pros here as the seller might say anything to persuade me and i don't wanna get cheated and I am useless at game consoles.

1. I've done some study about DSi and DSlite. It shows that DSi has screen size 3.25 inch while DSlite's is 3 inch. ...does it make a lot difference that would make u choose DSi over DSlite?
2. I saw threads in Garage Sale selling nintendo DS console. Some mentioned about additional stuff but more expensive (eg SD card). Will the console function without the SD card? please enlighten me what does it use for in a console exactly?
3. Does the console come with some games inside?
sorry for noob questions, but really need some guidance here.

1. i think, the resolution stay the same, onli the screen is larger, i dunno much cause i don't own a dsi =/
2. SD card usually comes with flashcart which is for homebrew stuff.
3. game sold separately.

1. Although the screen size is larger for DSi, the number of pixels on the screen remains the same. It's up to you if you want to pay a higher price for a larger screen + 2 VGA camera + downloadable DSiWare games (which can be saved in the internal memory) + music and picture viewer.

2. Both DS Lite and DSi does not need SD card to function. And DS Lite does not support SD cards natively without other 3rd party devices.

3. No built in games at all. DS Lite supports DS games (in cartridge form) and Game Boy Advance games (via its second GBA slot).
DSi supports DS games, DSi exclusive games (very few), and DSiware games which can be downloaded via its online shop channel (some apps are free like Flipnote Studio), however it does not have slot-2 so it can't play GBA games as well as some DS games that utilize slot-2 for extra accessories (like the guitar grip from Guitar Hero).

Nintendo unveils 3D DS
Man wearing 3D glasses
Nintendo promises its 3D console won't require glasses

Nintendo is planning a 3D version of its popular DS handheld games console.

The move is a response to the whirlwind of attention being given to 3D content and devices. Rival Sony plans to launch 3D games and TVs later this year.

Most 3D systems require users to wear special glasses but Nintendo said that its system will not need such add-ons.

Nintendo described the 3DS - as the device is likely to be called - the successor to the DS, which has sold over 125 million units worldwide.

Nintendo said that the new console will be compatible with existing games.

It said the games console will be available at some point either this year or early 2011 and promised more details at the E3 games show in June this year.
