indeed...in low light condition, quality of the portrait mode isn't too good
*
As per apple's advertisement, portrait mode is meant to be used on good lighting conditions. That's why there will be a prompt when a photo is taken using portrait mode without good lighting conditions. I only realised this yesterday. Hehe.

At the end of the day we don't buy a phone just for the camera. Also needs to consider the overall performance, ease of use, customised UI, ergonomic feel in the hand etc etc.
Although the camera is indeed a major element to consider, but if you like iOS there isn't much of an option.
For Android probably, seas of choices to go for.
*
On point here. Again, the reason people stay with iOS or Android is the ease of use. Sometimes you're locked into iOS environments e.g backup & whatnot so you tend to stay all the way. Though camera plays a good role in determining phone to buy nowadays, it's not the deal breaker.

After updating 10.3 i feel like my battery life went down ald. 10.1.1 (stock) i can use around 9 hours. Now around 8 hours oni
*
You mean 8 hours of screen on time is it enough? What do you do with your phone mainly? For media consumption or for social sites?

Social sites. Welp 1 hour is big difference tho
*
Understood bro. Especially if you're used to have that amount of phone usage, you can feel the difference. I'm in 10.3 Beta 7 and just passed 8 hours + of usage time and the battery is at 15% and standby for 26 hours.

Perhaps Over time it will be good? Compared to my Nexus 6P, this is slightly better.

Wah seh beta 7.
Beta ver seem to be better than the official one. Lol
*
I think this time around, the stable version and beta is pretty much the same. I went back to stable but forgot to deactivate the beta account and got the prompt to update to beta again, so I just did it. Hahaha.

Sorry, couple of threads/posts back, there are discussion on the chipping. But still don't understand what triggers it?

Pure manufacturing defect but Apple will classify as wear and tear? Minor drops? Bad/tight case?

Why persistent to ask, if it's something avoidable, would like to know what might possible cause it. If there's nothing, guess why worry...
*
Same here. I'm quite worried that a lot of people experienced it. If need be, I'd rather install skin or at least screen protector.

Guys, to post to Instagram directly from photos app, why do we still need to log into Instagram rather than post it from the shortcut? Perhaps I missed out any option to enable it.

Yup, I get that as well. Sporadic occurrences.

Adoi. Had the 2nd occurrence of the echo ringtone just now. Maybe coincidence but I had it around the same time yesterday. Maybe because of Beta build?

No more stock ...

Do you think :

1) RM2100 for Iphone 6s Plus 16gb ?
or
2) RM3799 128gb Iphone 7 Plus ?
or
3) using Iphone 5 (will change new battery later)
or
4) repair my 6plus which cost around RM300 (60% chance of survived)

Dilemma Dilemma Dilemma bruce.gif
*
If money is a concern : use option 3
If you like using your current phone & prefer it : go for option 4
Otherwise go for option 2. Better to get 32gb than 16 which is too little. At least with 32gb you have option to sync & transfer photos or videos to your desktop/laptop, maybe once a month.

Unless you use less space then go for option 1, but again, it's a 2 year old model, but a jump of you're coming from iPhone 6.

Already on my 3rd tempered glsss and still getting the halo effect on the side of it. Guys, anyone using the 2.5D glass but not having my issue? If yes, please direct me your purchase location  notworthy.gif
*
Using Hoda 2.5D glass bought and installed at Machines KLCC. Pricey though, rm99, but the top and bottom portion is actually blacked out so it looks as if real screen than screen protector sitting on top.

So far works well with Ringke Fusion & Rhinoshield Playproof.

Wow that one overbudget already. I'm looking for the one that looks like my photo but without the side shadow thing. But thanks for your feedback though, appreciate it.
*
If you're already on your 3rd glass, perhaps can save the hassle & get it done at the shop. If there is halo or spider web effect, at least you can have it changed without charge.

Perhaps spend more to save the hassle. In my case, it's company sponsored phone so I can claim it.

halo effect means..?
*
Means the side of the tempered glass is not flushed with the body of the phone. It's lifted and looks white and hence the "halo effect" as if the phone screen is circled with ring.

The thing is I went to the shop and told them about this, they said it's due to the curve screen of the phone so it's impossible to be applied perfectly. However I see the 7+ has curve screen too but did not see this happen and also some of my friend's iPhone 7 dont have this problem.

Probably you're right la. need spend a lil more
*
But again, maybe you can check around and go for those tempered glass shop that can do it better? Sometimes the inexpensive ones are good if applied properly.

My go for shop for quite sometime is a shop at Wangsa Walk (can't remember the name) where they sell tempered glass very cheap & they can apply it properly. If unsatisfactory I ask them to change (e.g got something stuck under the glass or something).

We are the buyer so we can demand it. I used to keep quite too, just take it as is, but no longer.

Because I know nor-matter how I will sell my iPhone 7 Plus in coming Oct. So still thinking lo. Selling now maybe better.

No need compare, I know how Samsung do and android do. I am maybe use S8 for few months only until Oct.
*
But value wise, iPhone is easier to sell & doesn't drop much. At least you can top up a bit more after you sell it off when the new iPhone comes.

Not worth to spend more on S8 now if you already have sight on the new iPhone.

Guys, anyone have good idea on how to clean the phone? It's quite dust magnet & the whole phone is now dusty. Especially around the screen area between the tempered glass' side and the screen.

the adhesive around the SP will have dust attracted to it...not sure how to clean it
*
You're right. I was thinking of getting the jelly kind of blob thingy that people use. Just run it across the screen and it will pickup the particles even those caught on the little gaps between the body & the screen. But afraid that it will leave oil like residue.

Other option I was thinking is micro fiber clothing but it won't be as thorough I think.
