Using Hoda 2.5D glass bought and installed at Machines KLCC. Pricey though, rm99, but the top and bottom portion is actually blacked out so it looks as if real screen than screen protector sitting on top.

So far works well with Ringke Fusion & Rhinoshield Playproof.

Wow that one overbudget already. I'm looking for the one that looks like my photo but without the side shadow thing. But thanks for your feedback though, appreciate it.

If you're already on your 3rd glass, perhaps can save the hassle & get it done at the shop. If there is halo or spider web effect, at least you can have it changed without charge.

Perhaps spend more to save the hassle. In my case, it's company sponsored phone so I can claim it.

Means the side of the tempered glass is not flushed with the body of the phone. It's lifted and looks white and hence the "halo effect" as if the phone screen is circled with ring.

Off Topic: Which Music Streaming is the Best!

user posted image

Just like to share 3 famous Music Streaming service. I am not audiophile but I love music and sensitive to sound quality.

Below is the highest setting applicable and all songs is test by using Powerbeats 3 headset.
Test on iPhone 7 Plus and all without enable equalizer. Few types of music and same song listen in 3 apps
  • Tidal - 1411kbps FLAC (lossless)
  • Spotify - 320kbps Ogg (lossy)
  • Apple Music - 256kbps AAC (lossy)
Sound Quality - Winner Tidal, 2nd Apple Music, 3rd Spotify.
Tidal is unbeatable the best sound quality, it is CD audio quality because it is lossless.

Spotify even though is 320kbps but Ogg format is still far behind AAC, the vocal is softer, bass is less strong and sometimes still can heard artificial noise & sound fuzzy. Obvious never my favorite at all. I don't like how Ogg sound output. It is also the most far different when compare with Tidal 1411kbps FLAC.

Apple Music is kind of near to Tidal 1411kbps FLAC, thanks to Apple better format provide, even though it is only 256kbps but it is far better than Spotify 320kbps, strong vocal and strong bass. Hardly to heard any artificial noise.

Music Catalogs - Winner Apple Music, 2nd Spotify, 3rd Tidal.
If you are only english song or europe song listener, Tidal is match with any of the music streaming provider. But if you listen to anykind of songs especially Asian song, then Tidal is very far behind, most of Chinese or Malay songs is not available in Tidar.

Interface - Winner Apple Music, 2nd Tidal, 3rd Spotify
Sorry to said I very dislike the Spotify interace, it is very troublesome to search and access offline download music.

Price Value - Winner Apple Music, 2nd Spotify, 3rd Tidal.
Even though all 3 can be same subscription price of RM 14.90 but Apple Music having more music catalogs and better sound quality, this is the reason of why it beat down Spotify. As for Tidal in same price range you only get 320kbps AAC instead of lossless. They is no reason for subscribing Tidal standard as the catalogs is much less. Use Tidal the main reason is go for FLAC lossless but that is much expensive than others, it cost RM 29.80 monthly. Some will said Spotify have free version but the free version only up to 160kbps Ogg which to me is very bad sound quality where I won't listen, also it came with full of advertisement that I can't tolerant.

Cross Platform - All equally tie
All 3 music streaming is cross platform of PC Windows, Mobile Android & Mobile iOS. All support offline download. In this category, all equally tie.

I not include Google Play Music, Amazon Prime Music, Napster & Pandora because it is not available in Malaysia.
As for Deezer the lossless FLAC need Sonos System where I don't have.

Good review, very informative. Have never tried Tidal, but I was on Apple Music for about 6 months before returning to Spotify Premium.

Only due to one reason - My household has a mix of iOS and Android phones. I found the Apple Music UX to be so inferior to Spotify's that it's not even funny. Fonts are big and small here and there, app options are cluttered all over the UI. My wife tolerated the shitty user experience for 6 months before insisting that we go back to Spotify.

The new Music app in iOS 10: a big bold confusing mess

QUOTE
To me, it feels like Apple said “let’s make things better by labeling everything with bigger letters,” but you don’t fix bloated software by using larger fonts. Again, it’s nice because it makes it easier to see where I am in the app, but it doesn’t solve the main problem. If anything, it actually highlights what a mess the app is by displaying so much information when all you want to do is play music.
..
But to me, the real drawback here is that just about everything takes more taps to accomplish in the new Music app. Want to Love a song? It will take you one more tap to get there.

The thing is I went to the shop and told them about this, they said it's due to the curve screen of the phone so it's impossible to be applied perfectly. However I see the 7+ has curve screen too but did not see this happen and also some of my friend's iPhone 7 dont have this problem.

Probably you're right la. need spend a lil more

But again, maybe you can check around and go for those tempered glass shop that can do it better? Sometimes the inexpensive ones are good if applied properly.

My go for shop for quite sometime is a shop at Wangsa Walk (can't remember the name) where they sell tempered glass very cheap & they can apply it properly. If unsatisfactory I ask them to change (e.g got something stuck under the glass or something).

We are the buyer so we can demand it. I used to keep quite too, just take it as is, but no longer.

Beside that too big font not my liking, it still more user friendly and now both iOS and Android is sharing the same features on Apple Music. No longer issue for Android user using Apple Music.

Spotify I won't use as the sound quality didn't meet my requirement. Later tonight I might try Deezer.

Currently I test run the Tidal. The quality is there but the music catalog is kind of poor for Asian song.

I hope this year Apple release lossless Apple Music.

It's not the area of how much the tempered glass cover, it's the glass never fully stick to the screen.
