during last week's drop, managed to top-up 2k to TAGTF, 2k to Ponzi 2.0

this week's been a good week so far  thumbup.gif
*
thumbup.gif go for you.

hmm.gif someone mentioned last week that unless the top up is of significant sums in relation to the value in the port....the gains made from this new top up will have insignificant impacts on the ROI of port.
I guess it will definitely have a more of a emotional satisfaction impact.....
but if this leads to an emotional and psychological changes to try to time the markets again.....
FSM did has an article published a decade ago regarding the situational data on a foreign index on a 80 years duration from a certain point of time.

Can you time the market?
November 18, 2009
.........., predicting its future direction is tricky. Investors are often tempted to time the market - whether it will have further upside or will it consolidate. However, is this the best strategy?

Good morning guys,

Probably a very raw and stupid analysis which once taught by my classmate years back.

As on 23/11/2017 12.50pm.

The China CSI300 index is -1.38%.

[attachmentid=9368372]

So, does it mean funds such as

1) DINASTI
2) CIMB GC
3) Dragon fund

will be down today ?

or in other words, i can purchase 1 of these 3 funds today at a low price before 3pm today? ( Buy low sell high concept)

Just a noob concept or imagination by me.

Thanks all pros.
*
some NAVs of the funds is based on 1 and some 2 days back....
some funds does not have significants holdings of the index linked stocks
some index falls are dragged down by just 1 or 2 stocks and some affected only 1 sector of the market.
thus these might not impact much to the funds holdings...

recently bursa saham is really go down?
is the right time to purchase?

some would check this out to see where is the better place to buy.
https://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/resea...tarRatings.svdo
https://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/resea...ember-2017-9104

buy what you need for your port.
how much % of the value of your port do you intend to use to buy IDS?
why IDS and not other funds like KGF, Kaf vision or others since they are also investing in M'sia?

btw, what bursa saham index does this IDS relates/benchmark?
there are many indexes that IDS does not relates/benchmark to

unknown to a lot of things about you and your port....
I simply tembak on my perspective....
if only if my current port composition has China/Hk of less than 10% of the port
I would double up the same amount in Dragon.
so that my profit would be 6.5% and my port has China/Hk at 20%

QUOTE(Mike3 @ Nov 26 2017, 05:05 PM)
I noticed alot of ports have cimb global titan.
should i start buy titan and greater china.

currently holding affin hwang bond and ponzi 2.

Malaysia and asia pac focused.

im starting very small
few k only for now.

if only if my current port composition has China/Hk of less than 10% of the port
I would take in Greater China funds so that my China/Hk has no more than 20% in my port
I would also take in CIMB GTF for diversification at no more than 20% too.

What happened with worldwide market?
*
Markets indexes fluctuates ......that is what they do best constantly...
my uneducated observation is, if want to have a less fluctuating funds, is to try to get funds with
lower 3 yrs volatility % numbers,
lower FSM risk rating numbers,
try to avoid single country/sector/region funds and
allocated these funds at a higher % relative to your post.

*
you need to "tick" at the tiny box to confirm that you had read the prospectus and understand the risk...blah.blah.blah....
after that only then the CONFIRM button will not be in fade color,
then you need to reenter yr password.

Btw, quite noob in this. May I know what is the % here means?

Example for Affin Hwang Moderate PRS Fund, does it means that it will return 11+% in a year?
https://fundsupermart.com.my/main/research/...tormaincode=All

well, i ask this coz new to this and abit doubting some fund get 25% more each year? that's quite good!?
*
QUOTE(Ramjade @ Dec 1 2017, 06:39 PM)
Yes.  % here means if you put in money exactly one year ago (from the date of 11%) and didn't topup anything, you will get exactly 11%
*
so neo_6053, after having read many of the posts and surfed many of the investment sites,...do you belief (from Ramjade's example) you can get similar ROIs "each" year?
for a fund with an ROIs of <5% pa I think each year is highly possible
for a fund with an ROIs of 10% each year...what do you think?
