Btw, these my allocation for discussion purposes.

Need any improvement ?

All comments are welcome wink.gif
                            Allocation.
■Asia ex Japan        2.84%
■US                       10.03%
■China               16.17%
■Malaysia               0.56%
■Greater China       20.25%
■China India       6.55%
■Global               43.60%
*
Dayum 20 fund with similar sector?
Mind listing out your fund?
Looks like heavy hitter for us and china

Global actually or rather most of the one I saw heavily allocated to US
So I assume your US allocation is 50% at least.

Personally I would bump up Asia ex Japan.

8% return is not bad.
Also I am aiming and hopping my portfolio to have at least 10% ROI yearly.
It's not wrong wanting to have high ROI but always do your own research, risk assessment and analysis.

Haven't purchased yet, doing Windows shopping and survey based on FSM geographical
True, not balance enough, maybe need some US to even that?  laugh.gif

Personally I'm going gung-ho with Asia ex Japan and China with FSM

If you foresee US and China will go big, allocated more to them

Aren't the whole point of investing by ourselves is to beat or at least match EPF return?

QUOTE(dopp @ Feb 16 2021, 09:54 PM)
I have been on FSM from Sept'20, and earning more than i invested with manulife for 4.5 yrs. (fact I put in more money in manulife than FSM). .

I have couple of questions, is there any rule of thumb where do i sell and take profit?
I have been randomly(yea) DCA and all this profit are just unrealized P&L.

By the time i hit 50 yrs old, it may/probably drop due to some sort of epidemic again..

Should I just sell it, get profit and start again ?

My stashaway and Wahed is also doing well.. I have exact same question too..

Been just DCA..

Even PRS fund making a 10.18% ! just i just started 2-3 mths ago
*
What's the Manulife allocation? How you view it will be in future?
If good, continue hold
If not, sell

Lock in profit after you had done your due diligence.
Meaning
if you think the crash coming,
if you think it reaches the peak/lose momentum/under performing,
If you found better opportunity,
If not, continue DCA

We are not god, only can do research and analysis accordingly and with all of that
You can sleep soundly.

Newbie sharing here. smile.gif
I just done re-evaluated my portfolio.. realized that got quite a huge portion in Malaysia stocks. So this year planning on reducing MY stocks and increasing US stocks.
I still believed in MY stocks tho, just more bullish on US stocks, esp the growing tech sectors.

This is my initial target;
40% china eq
35% US eq
15% MY eq
10% islamic bond
TWR for my portfolio is 22.29% for 2020 (1st year investing)

Got any room for improvement?
*
Personally will
Cut down on Malaysia and bond
Add in Asia fund

2day probably will continue red

And whether it will continue red or not, it's most likely depends on tonight's JP speech

technically and usually when US down, whole world also. so, its not a bad idea to pay attention to the US
and JP pretty powerful.

roughly went thru what he said yesterday and its pretty flat imo.
ppl are assuming institutional will sell off in favour for bonds.

there's another session tonight
so, be prepare. tongue.gif

personally i will assume sell off will end in feb
but im not financial advisor, just based on historical data

Yup. Probably the month US will close red.
My guess until second week become any buying pressure resume.

China have been "urging" dialogue with US.
Might small rally in anticipating "good" news

No more cash for the month so any crash or dip, gotta wait for next month..

As some ppl assume biden is mr "nice" guy, market to the moon but imo biden, at the front, don't "care" about the stock market performance as compare to trump

Continue buy by batch.. already drop 10% this week. if will take 6 months to go back to previous peak, earn 10% in 6 months not bad for me.
*
Imo will drop, perhaps fluctuations between the resistance and support will be a better word to describe until mid of march before any real action reveal.

Personally, I assume/hope it will continue uptrend.

I have a question...I read a few times that US and China markets are gonna be down for the next few months, or we're going through correction, etc. Is it good that I buy the related funds now, or wait it out till months later because we don't know how low it'll go?

Please don't smack me for my very limited knowledge. Thanks for advice.
*
it depends on how your analyse the market
i have read report/news that there were short squeeze in bond market hence the sudden spike in the rate
and market usually forward pricing so these past week dipping are pricing in player moving to bond market
hence potentially once the market done its 'rebalancing' there will be strong bounce

no body can give you the accurate, heck even completely opposite from what i written. thats why you will always heard do your own due diligence. not all investor see eye to eye.

personally i assume mid march the market will bounce, based on my understanding and research.

generally gold and yield rate have negative correlation with the market.
so what's your view once most of the population vaccinate? economy going stonk or dipping? yield rate going down? up? or same?

personally i dont have any gold in portfolio

times have change. gold used to be safe haven from inflation. these days there are too many competing in this space. block chain coins seems to be winning in this space.

agreed. once bitcoin was inversely with the market but now or at least for the past weeks its move along with the market, specifically the US.
as of now, bitcoin still dipping and if its still moves along with market, next week will be still dipping

Thanks for your advices.

On the side, I see lots of conversations regarding gold. The existing RIs have quite heavy % in it...I've selected auto-reoptimisation, I let SA so the work...but I see there are people here that changes the weightage, is it cuz you'd rather manage it manually in the events like these? Do you guys think it's wise to touch it? For myself, I won't...just asking to understand better smile.gif
*
well, if you got the knowledge and nerve, why not do it yourself. most ppl here, or at least those frequent commenter DIY their own portfolio.
else, you can just subscribe to FSM manage portfolio (MP), top up/dca regular and let their team do their work

Guys, will china funds rebound after major pullback?
Can we expect some recovery soon as US market has rebound after last week's bleeding.
All my china and USA based funds have gone from profit to loss just in 5 days (last week).
Share your opinions
*
personally i dont think US recovered/finish consolidate/correction yet

based on historical data, during election year, the consolidation will continue at least until mid of march
and by mid of april, it will recovered to pre-consolidation

just my analysis based on past data.
welcome to agree/disagree

then this is indirectly killing their own sales agent.. hahaha.... whenever those sales agent who approaches me, I always tell them FSM is only charging 1.5% for sales charge, can you match that?
*
actually they can, especially branch manager.
one time kena offer 1% sweat.gif

from that day onwards, i reply with, the selection of your bank portfolio is too little, very troublesome.
