Market is doing correction now :-

Nav for 24 Feb :-

CIMB-Principal Asia Pacific Dynamic Income Fund  Down -0.84
CIMB-Principal Global Titans Fund    Down -0.78
CIMB-Principal Greater China Equity Fund  Down -1.83

Wei, don't hit the panic button so soon.

"Asian stocks fell while gold and the yen were steady after three days of gains as investors grew cautious before speeches this week from Donald Trump and Janet Yellen." -- Bloomberg

Question, how long does it take for FSM to process distribution and add the reinvested units under our holding ?
Been one week already still no update.

QUOTE(frankzane @ Feb 28 2017, 02:14 PM)
Well, just a dumb question:

Will the NAV of a fund be affected by the sales/buys of so many investors? Like stock...

Lately saw you guys are discussing on wholesale buy. Will that affect small player like me?
*
If your emphasis is on the NAV price, then no.

But interestingly I have came across discussion on this topic on huge buys/sale of a fund.
If a fund become too overly subscribed, they become harder to manage, less agile. The fund manager will have bigger challenges example pressured to invest the money as they cannot keep too much cash for extended period. This could cause them to make less optimal allocations.

If fund subscribers panic sell, fund managers may be forced to sell holdings that still have potential in order to liquidate and pay out the unit sellers.

Paiseh! Paiseh! But which fund is High Yield Bond fund ar?
Algozen™ determines that 10% be allocated to US exposure, so I am using DCA method to skim the excess from US exposure until she remains at 10%.

Due to the recent US gain, the % of US port has exceeded 10%.

With regards to point two, the answer is yes.

Emm ...got a few high yield bond fund like :
RHB Asian High Yield Fund - MYR
Eastspring Investments Asian High Yield Bond MY Fund - MYR Hedged
United Asian High Yield Fund - MYR

What you think of them ? Eastspring one 15% gain in one year !

Edit: sorry looked at wrong page. not 30%.

Well the Feds have announced that multiple rate hike is imminent this year. Be prepared for a minor downward trend for the indices as investors will take evasive measures.

Well noises can create fears unjustily.

Are fund managers authorized to short sell on behalf of the fund?

QUOTE(john123x @ Mar 4 2017, 07:08 PM)
so whose fault is this? obama? trump? yellen?
*
Nobody's fault. Feds are doing their job to cool down the market before inflation goes uncontrolled. The reason for multiple rate increase is so that they can do small incremental instead of a huge adjustment that could cause a big shock reaction in the market

Effects of the impending Feds interest hike. Ya'll should go look at your regional bond fund. They are suffering now. I know cause mine affected. So even if you say the fund managers foreseen this, we are still gonna feel it. Lets hope it will recover soon.

Well the opportunist would be well off knowing this and using it to his advantage.

Shariah and halal compliant is the current rage and with this, religious themed businesses in Malaysia is experiencing healthy growth due to the demand. Good to invest in Islamic fund. Lots of potential there.

Possible Topic for some discussions....
When an investor or potential new investor posted.....
1) I am going to invest mid to long term,.......what does it mean generally?
2) i am a mid to high risk person,  what does tis mean too?

To be frank....i really got not precise answers to that.....
*
Aiyo, dunno why this topic suddenly digress to new investors with wrong atitude.

This is what it means to me, personally:

1) I am going to invest mid to long term,.......what does it mean generally?
mid - 3 to 5 years
long term - >5 years
this is true for me, as i still maintain my PM funds. New invests coming to FSM tongue.gif
The only time when i did sell was a fund not performing >3-4 years.

2) i am a mid to high risk person, what does tis mean too?
This means that the capital I invest is not needed for the next 5-10 years to be able to go through a full market cycle.
Low risk means I may need the money soon, so cannot allow it to incubate in bad market conditions
