QUOTE(T231H @ Mar 1 2017, 07:18 PM) thanks for the links and info.... for those funds that got suspended,...do they have to relinquish their existing stocks holdings and returns the monies to investors EPF's a/c or they just keep operating as it is but cannot take in new EPF investment? With the announcement on the newly approved and suspended unit trusts under the EPF-MIS for 2017/18, EPF members: 1. Can invest in the newly approved unit trusts under the EPF-MIS starting from 1 March 2017 onwards 2. Are not allowed to invest or switch into suspended unit trusts starting from 1 March 2017 onwards 3. Who have bought into the suspended unit trusts prior to the suspension can continue to keep their monies in those unit trusts

Went to FSM office to perform EPF MIS. They said that AmAsia Pacific REITs - Class B (MYR) is not ready yet in their system. Could take up to 2/3 months to be ready.

QUOTE(T231H @ Mar 3 2017, 08:08 AM) this was from FSM recently.... Last year, Asian REITs ended the year on a joyful note as investors around the globe were on the hunt for yields under a low interest rate environment. Moving into 2017, however, concerns are pouring in for REITs investors as the US economy continues to deliver positive data that are fueling the possibilities of a faster than expected rate hike. In this Idea of the Week, we will look into two areas investors should look out for when investing in Asian REITs. Are Asian REITs still attractive? [3 February 2017] https://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/resea...uary-2017--7959I'm aware of the risk but for PRS/MIS, your investment time span is usually long. Those risk could be short term.

QUOTE(yklooi @ Mar 3 2017, 08:14 AM) I too......got Amreits for this year 2017 portfolio set up...now achieved it 11% allocation after reading the FSM analysts, hopefully can get > 6% ROI for this year and the next, next, next.... My purpose is to diversify my asset classes. I don't want MIS money pool to invest into similar funds in my PRS or regular portfolio. Therefore I choose REIT funds.

QUOTE(yklooi @ Mar 3 2017, 08:33 AM) me too...for tax relief purposes.... but when I reached retirement age,...may have to consider, moving more to PRS funds..... not for tax relief purposes but 0% SC on targeted funds under PRS funds. at retirement age, can take out money no tax and can buy 0% Sc funds Money in PRS is basically locked. No liquidity. Unless you do not foresee the usage of that pool of money, you could channel into PRS.

QUOTE(LazyKurosaki @ Mar 5 2017, 11:21 PM) Anyone know what is.the cash managment fund for? Issit smtg like fd? And we can use the cash in that fund to invest.into fund of our choice with faster transaction compared to fpx? It is a money market fund. It works almost like FD. Its yield is slightly higher than FD. For most of us, it works like a temporary parking place upon selling our proceed before deploying to new fund if found any.

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Mar 5 2017, 11:26 PM) It's yield may ne higher than 1 month FD but it's not higher than 1 year FD. Its yield as of last Friday is 3.345% Standard 1-year FD is 3.1% I'm referring to standard FD not those special placement, promotional rate or step-up FD. QUOTE(skynode @ Mar 5 2017, 11:32 PM) It's like savings account, just that you need a couple of days to liquidify it. Perks : 1. convenient and efficient way to buy UTF 2. higher return than your run-of-the-mill savings account Compare it to saving account is not that right? QUOTE(LazyKurosaki @ Mar 5 2017, 11:36 PM) The interest is credited every 6 months or every month? It doesn't work that way. As I mentioned earlier, it is a money market fund. You won't gain any till you sell it.

QUOTE(skynode @ Mar 5 2017, 11:45 PM) They use Maybank FD as the benchmark. They have no lock-in period, so I consider them like savings account with slightly slower liquidity. What's the different to treat it as if like FD? In fact, it's much slower than FD. You need time to liquidate your FD even for eFD. As for saving account, the standard interest rate is pathetically low. The liquidity is instant at the point of any withdraw channel. This post has been edited by David83: Mar 5 2017, 11:49 PM

QUOTE(repusez @ Mar 7 2017, 09:10 PM) How do u guys allocate your PRS portfolio ,some growth , some conservative , some reit or only concentrate on one PRS fund? How often do you switch the PRS? It depends on your risk appetite and age. If I'm still at 20+, I'll full force in Growth fund. If I'm at 50+, maybe I want something in Conservative plus REIT. So, very subjective. QUOTE(Kaka23 @ Mar 13 2017, 06:28 PM) Why ur thimb prints most of the time cannot go through? The FSM staff said most of the rejected withdrawal is related to thumb prints not clear. I had to practise many times at the FSM office.
