It is investing mainly in small cap. You should compare with KLSE small cap index instead of klsi.

Still in their prospectus they mentioned they will be investing in malaysian equities which include big caps. I expect their investment manager to know when to switch.

KGF have been flat for quite sometime now and is currently underperforming compared to KLSE.

Anyone has comments on RHB Asian Income fund? I find the performance is subpar. In good times , it doesn't grow as fast as equity but in bad times , it drops as much as pure equity funds.

Please know what you are buying in the first place. Rhb Asian income fund is a balanced fund. What this means it holds both bond and equities which means it won't rise as fast a pure equities fund wound and it won't drop as much as a equities fund should Theoretically.  That's why I never buy any balanced fund. Currently focus on equities fund with bond fund acts more as my warchest.

I know it's balanced, that's why I'm surprised that it dropped so much.

I feel it's time to sell off my globabltech despite its good performance as I feel it is starting to feel expensive compared to the rest of the world. Any other good funds?

hmm.gif i think "most" Malaysia funds are doing badly YTD.
KGF is not the worst and not the best.....
given it has been producing generous annualised returns and it good run in 2017.....
i will still keep it for another 6 months to see how it matched up to its peers....

cannot recommend for YTD is mostly BAD or below FD rates
*
I'e been holding KGF since last year and it is still negative.
I've really no idea what the fund managers are doing.

You bought since last year end?
Mine all other funds red, but KGF is the only one that is green but with low percentage T_T, reason being probably i bought KGF the earliest, back in 2017.

3rd quarter last year i think, during one of the FSM Promo.

However i guess this volatility will continue until trump gets voted out from office which is in 2020 or if china gives in to US demands.

With the Japan/EU free trade that is recently announced, do you think EU funds are getting more attractive?
They seem to want to decouple from the China/trade spat.

It all depends , if trump put more tarrifs at china products then you can expect china and the whole world to go down .

The only thing that looks cheap now is China , share price is at 2015 level.
but with trump, you never know what he is going to do next.
