i've had about 3 or 4 purchases that required a refund after the item had been delivered to me. If you request a refund for an item that's delivered to you after returns, the item needs to fulfill certain requirements before the refund request is approved.
However in your case , there shouldn't be any issue as the item never reached you .
Usually the refund process take about 2-4 days if your payment was via internet banking. If credit card 5 to 6 day is usually how long it takes for it to be reflected in your statement.
In the event you experience any events that violates your consumer rights, such as your money not being refunded for an item you never received, you can bring it up with National Consumer Complaint Center which is a platform that is heavily underused by consumers as they are unaware of it.
