QUOTE(Someonesim @ Nov 25 2020, 11:47 PM) So I configured my ram ( TridentZ Neo 3600 kit ) to 3200 tested few hours of video conversion ( almost all time near 100% CPU load ), stable play COD CW for an hour, not BSOD. Although game crashed multiple times, consistently at same mission Not sure game problem, or graphic driver. Tomorrow might download and test other games. Fxxk la it remind me of my 1700 system, where my TridentZ 3200 kit cant even boot 3200, 2933 not totally stable CW game unstable, do not test for reliability with that game. Updates are still pending to fix the broken game.

QUOTE(Jedi @ Jan 12 2021, 02:45 PM) I only game. TUF 3090OC cstkl1 had a big hand on tweaking for me https://imgur.com/a/Uq11LDGThis is my full spec on HWInfo - this spec is running Battlefront 2 (Frostbite engine) on max settings 1440p ultrawide LG34gn850 Given that you're running pretty high v's, you should pump up the uncore to 4.9 for fps gains.

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Jan 25 2021, 11:02 AM) i personally wouldnt bother ocing a 11900k stock 4.8 equivalent of running 10900k@5.3ghz gaming performance second for the other part i cant disclose about the vid difference but doubt the noobs of anandtech/gn etc will even notice this since they are so stupid about cmtlake. Would you be upgrading to the 11900k or sticking with the 10900k? I'm unsure if i want to move to the 11900k if performance is not warranted.

Just had my first taste of zen experience with my first whea error. Also JFC this chip idle's hotter than my 10900k

I actually tweak the shit out of my 10900k, and i definitely enjoy seeing small real life gains and STABILITY from it (I mainly game with 1080p high refresh)
The 5900x however..... is just too much of a hassle to the point where i am just wasting my time trying to fine tune pbo limits (ended up just selecting motherboard as it resulted better all core clocks but with high voltage, no F given on degradation since ill be swapping it out in less than a year) and CO. Anything i touch on the PBO limit at the slightest will lead to my games crashing after some time.

The chipset temps for me is manageable. Its the 5900x idling temps i have a problem with (unless i disable pbo, it never idles below 40c....)

QUOTE(nrw @ Mar 9 2021, 02:46 PM) very late reply... but did you set the scalar to any value? what exactly are the settings you set in the pbo menu in general? CO at -15 all core, too lazy to do slowly set each core (given minimal returns) edit: tweaks aren't remotely the best, but i am looking forward to degrading this chip and moving back to intel. QUOTE(nrw @ Mar 9 2021, 04:59 PM) If you want lower temps and better performance: 1) Set Scalar to Auto (which will hopefully be OFF with Gigabyte nowadays) 2) Consider setting the power limits to stock, not that you gain much performance there anyways 3) Consider to use CoreCycler to do a curve. But before you start with that, test without it to make sure your boost clock override is actually stable https://github.com/sp00n/corecyclerThank you for the feedback, will try that out!
