Hey guys, not sure if its okay to post here but maybe I could get some hindsight.
I've been wanting to buy the ryzen 9 5900x , but of course sold out since launch. As of today, I checked again and I am seeing in Lazada and Shopee that 5900x is becoming available again, BUT with much higher price.
5900x should be at RM2,499 but I'm seeing as high as RM4,000, from china. Lowest I've seen is around RM3,399.
Do you think 5900x CPUs are getting back on stock here in malaysia? Are those regular prices, adjusted because of the pandemic? Or are those still scalper prices?
There's no way I'll pay scalper price, but if the regular pricing here in malaysia is, for example, set to RM3399, then I guess it is acceptable to buy.

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jan 11 2021, 04:17 PM) @bolded This right here is one of the reasons why the price has increased. If every seller scalps at a pre-determined price (let's take 3399 for the 5900x), then suddenly that price becomes the new "SRP". There is no law or control of the item which must be set a fixed price. In other words, if everyone is scalping and you don't, then you're an idiot. To answer your question, no RM3399 is not the new SRP for the 5900x. It's simply a price that has been agreed by all major retailers to scalp at. Yeah, that's why I asked if that's the new "regular" price of the 5900x because of the pandemic. I just suspected they raised the prices here in malaysia. So If it's just some high price decided among sellers, then I won't buy. I assumed you guys are more aware of the current standing of the ryzen market. But I doubt it will be RM2,499 since 5800x are being sold at price higher than that. RM2,698.00 https://www.lazada.com.my/products/amd-ryze...U6ZnHS&search=1Damn. And no, not going intel. I'm inside the AMD Ryzen thread, cmon guys.
