I'm planning to purchase an AM5 rig to retire my long running Ryzen7 1700 rig(since 2014) which is mainly used as a virtualization host (homelab) 24x7 was wondering which motherboard vendor is most sought after nowadays if I'm looking towards an AM5 cpu ? I'm currently on Asus Crosshair VI Hero which has been a worthy work horse so far. But I've also came across the debacle from Jayz and GN about Asus's treatment on AM5 platform recently hence I'm not sure which would be a better alternative. Not to mention the options on retail seems to be way limited either.. This post has been edited by calvin: Oct 29 2023, 07:06 PM

QUOTE(TristanX @ Oct 29 2023, 07:13 PM) Go with MSI board. Which Ryzen you are shooting for? VRM matters for 12 or 16 cores CPU. Even some budget board have problems handling 8 cores. I'm looking at 7900 for now , since I need the core counts for my workload ..
