At RM1700 is the 1800x worth it or should I just go ahead with the 1700x at Rm1500?

QUOTE(AMDAthlon @ Feb 8 2018, 07:39 PM) If I were you I would wait for the Ryzen 2nd Gen which is coming in April. Should have better motherboard too. Do take note x series does not include cooler. Yes, I'm aware the X series has no cooler. Thought I recycle my TX3 cooler. Haven't updated my CPU and mainboard for 9 years, guess 2 more months won't kill me. |

QUOTE(Moongrave @ Aug 15 2018, 07:48 AM) If you want something now and an x470 for sli for some reason, MSI Carbon Pro is your next bet at 650 but if you want to risk it, look for a Biostar X470GT8/ X370GT7. That board is high level stuff made on a budget. Think a cut down Asus Crosshair (best x470) at 600 with less bells and whistles on other component such as Lan or capacitors. You get all you need to OC like voltage offset and BCLK tuner which is absent on any other board below 900. |

Question regarding RAM for Ryzen 3000. Will one be able to fill in 4 slots(eg. 4*16GB DDR3200) and run at 3200 or will it downgrade to 2933 like Ryzen 2000 series?

So we might be getting Ryzen 3950nonX, 3900nonX, 3700nonX, and a R5 3500:
Source ~ TomsHardware QUOTE The Ryzen 3000-series family currently consists of six members starting from the Ryzen 5 3600 hexa-core part up to the flagship Ryzen 9 3950X 16-core chip. New evidence has emerged that suggests AMD could capitalize on the Ryzen 3000-series' traction and release a couple more SKUs to fill the price gap. The mainstream line allegedly gets the Ryzen 9 3900, Ryzen 7 3700 and Ryzen 5 3500. |

QUOTE(Joseph Hahn @ Aug 10 2019, 11:59 AM) Sold already lol. If your soundcard supports either DTS connect or Dolby Digital Live, you can get 5.1 audio over optical. Basically it takes 5.1 PCM and compress them real time for your Z5500 to receive.Untungla haha. Anyway, regarding my question about my Windows 10 only detecting stereo, turns out it's the limitation of optical cable as it can only transfer Bitstream (compressed) surround sound or PCM (uncompressed) stereo. My PC is connected to TV via HDMI and TV is connected to my Z5500 via optical. PS4 surround works because there's a Bitstream option. VLC also works because (downloaded) videos with surround sound are also compressed and there's an option to passthrough the Windows driver. Windows detects my optical connection so it only gives me Stereo in PCM. Games are also in PCM in Stereo or surround. So if i want to play games in surround, i still need to use analog cable which connects my PC directly to speaker. But since i don't game much, i'll stick with HDMI only for now. Less cable mess. My Xonar DS PCI card has this feature but for some reason it's not working correctly when I'm connected using HDMI. Probably a Windows 10 bug. |

Got a question regarding NVMe drives.
Are support for these limited only those listed in the Storage QVL section or can all mainboard support all sizes. Eg. can a 2TB SX8200 NVMe work on a Asrock A320M-HDV or a B450M Steel Legend despite not being listed in their respective Storage QVL listings? |

QUOTE(edministrator @ Sep 9 2019, 10:09 PM) I'm on 2.70 .My CPU fan frequently spins up and down. It annoyed me so much that I just went into the bios and set the fan profile to full speed. FYI I'm using my Hyper TX3 EVO cooler from my old Phenom II x4 965. By the way, those on 3600 with stock cooler, are any of you able to get 32 C on idle? |

QUOTE(shirohamada @ Sep 11 2019, 12:47 PM) no, 40 min. Dang, was hoping 3rd party cooler(eg. Hyper 212 Turbo LED Dual Fans ) would at least idle at 35 C and max out 65 C full load. Guess I'll just stick with the Hyper TX3 for now.same even on a scythe mugen. even peak temp is not impressive, but it never goes above 80C or thermal throttles. Thanks for the feedback. @edministrator Thank you for your feedback as well. |

QUOTE(nrw @ Sep 21 2019, 01:08 AM) Edit: just saw 3950x got postponed to November 😂 Seems they dont have enough (good) chips yet. So it will be Epyc first, n then TR4>3950x probably as the latter two are scheduled for the same month. Glad i decided to go with the 3600 and b450m instead of 3950x and x570. The wait would have just made me disgruntled. |

My 3600 only managed up to 4100Mhz.My old rig, 2400G with DDR4-2400 (no DOCP) and Asus A320M-K. Reusing the same RTX2060 but the gaming performance is different by day and night |

Curious, but do you think the 5950X will be priced at RM3600 and above?
