Thank you very much. I will check it out. This is 1 of the only 2 AM4 board with AM3 mounting hole I have found

Do share your config after you setup your rig. Eyeing on the Asus Strix X370-F too for a Ryzen system. Heard Ryzen is picky for RAM.

Planning to upgrade my MB+CPU+RAM around this month or so. But on the other hand still a bit hesitate as the threadripper and new Intel Coffee Lake might be coming very soon in the next few months.

I'm using Gigabyte AX370 Gaming 5. Lots of feature. Currently only letdown is there is no P-state overclock that lets you OC and save power. Oh, read the QVL before buying performance RAM. Make sure it is compatible with your motherboard.
*
I am eyeing on the AX370 too. What ram you are currently using?

Thanks for the info. How much you bought? Running at full speed of 3,000Mhz with default timing?

RM760. Not really. Motherboard sets it as 2933mhz and CL16.
*
Great info!! I think 2933Mhz is good enough. thumbup.gif

I think SG unit still can buy because last time when I sent my AMD Phenom for warranty, i was requested to post my cpu to Singapore anyway.. So I think maybe SG unit is safe. But not sure for other countries.
*
Yes, SG unit I also think ok. Just place my order for Giga AX370 Gaming 5 - new toys for the weekend. devil.gif

My last AMD rig is the Athlon 64 (very overclockable but can't remember which processor) and the funky DFI Lanparty UT nF4 Ultra-D and later change to DFI NF4 SLI-DR Expert. thumbup.gif

I think it was before the Core2Duo series from Intel came out and dominate the market until now. yawn.gif

My last amd rig older than yours, it was athlon xp, which model i can't recall liao, that time the cpu was a great overclocker
*
yeah cheers.gif ... those were the time - OC really increase the performance by a lot. Now OC mainly just incremental performance boost.

Stock cooler is beefy. Can handle light OC. Use it first until you can get the bracket. Stock cooler is also RGB as well.
*
wow... din know it is RGB. thumbup.gif Will run in the CPU for a while before start OC after the Corsair bracket arrive.

The performance in real world applications are pretty significant once you overclock.

smile.gif Benchmarks, you'll see some but once you do video rendering like 4K there's quite a significant time shaved.
*
great to hear that it has good performance boost in video rendering. thumbup.gif

i3/i5 kut. since its purely core.
i7 still got some extra leg. for me so far is okay. CPU utilization not that high atm.
*
I think so too, even if my current 3770k still able to game nicely. Bottleneck is more on GPU.

So the cooler screw is not symmetrical?, so that why you cant place the cooler text on top.
*
of course No. innocent.gif If you have not lay your hand on the AMD Ryzen, maybe you should reserve your comment on the cooler etc, else later misleading others. No offence, just my 2 sen. cheers.gif

QUOTE(goldfries @ Aug 3 2017, 07:41 AM)
By default - NO.

It is possible to put the AMD logo on vertical alignment if you unmount the fan and remount it 90 degrees to the right.
*
I tried to do that but the screws just refuse to come out, so give up. Anyway, the default cooler is just temporary - waiting for the free AM4 bracket of my Noctua D14 to arrive.

Noctua is so awesome - send the AM4 mounting kit all the way from Europe FOC. thumbup.gif

In comparison, Corsair is CRAP!!! vmad.gif Even i want to buy the AM4 mounting bracket from US, they refuse to ship if the shipment goes though a forwarding service, must provide a physical address in US.
