Our greatest condolence to the money spent.  console.gif

Welcome to the club, by the way.

Now, let start with curve optimizer.
First, take a screenshot (post here?) of ryzen master showing the fastest and second fastest cores of both CCD0 and CCD1.

Ok, managed to swap out my 3600 and B450M Steel Legend and boot up my 5950X and Dark Hero VIII.
Rest of the components:
BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4
Kingston KHX3200c18d4 16GBx2
ADATA SX8200 PRO
Corsair HX850
HAF922(top fan and front fan disabled for now)

So this was my first CB R23 test with open case yielded this result before BIOS update:
Multi 24213
Single 1553

After BIOS update with closed case with BIOS version 3401:
Multi 24817
Single 1604

I'm guessing PBO is set to disabled. Multicore test seems to be quite low.

Both Arctic Cooling Liquid Freezer II 360 and Corsair H150i Elite Capellix never hit 90C. Check your thermal paste and parts. Standard thermal paste application like rice grain and pea size on Zen 2 and Zen 3 does not work properly. You will need more than that because there are multiple chips spread around the IHS.
*
Shoot, I used PEA size on 5950x paired with Dark Rock Pro 4. How did you apply it? Cross?

Omg, hardcore!!!

On a more serious note, won't the excess paste spill over to the motherboard?

Once again I repeat, don't update BIOS until AGESA 1.3.0 is out.

X570 DH should have fTPM, go to bios to enable it.

Switch to Advanced mode, go to Advanced tab, there is a big AMD fTPM configuration. Set the AMD fTPM switch to enable.
*
Dumb question, can we disable it back after running the pc check app?

Hardware question, is it ok to use the original amd AM4 backplate to install the stand-off for a CM Hyper 212 cooler instead of using the CM provided plastic backplate. Just upgraded to a R5 3600 and dreading the idle temp.
*
Reddit says it's ok:
https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/...tm_source=share

And so does the CM video embedded there.

Also, anyone tried the new bios:

Ryzen 5000 refresh next year?

Web source rumours

ZEN3D: 7nm Zen 3 with stacked V-Cache (up to 192MB).

ZEN3XT: Zen 3 refresh with increased boost clocks, better stability and bug fixes.

So I recenty got myself 4 sticks of ddr 3600 replacing 2 sticks of ddr 3200.

After installing 4 sticks speed was at 3200. I tried to manually put 3600 which made the system go haywire and it reverted back to a 2400.

I then finally used DOCP(something like XMP)to get the RAM running at the advertised speed as per spec. In the long run there wouldn't be any side effects, right? The only issue I presume I will face in the future is during bios upgrades as it will knock it back to 2400.

AMD's 3D V-Cache-refreshed Ryzen chips are slated to start production in November, hints tipster
Those that planning to buy 5000 series, better wait few more months.

Basically XT variant.
Would be intersting to see vcache be implemented on 5950x.....

Anyone here have issues with the USB C ports on x570 or B450 boards? Like IO errors or frequent reconnect/ disconnect issues?
This happens on both my Asrock B450M and Dark Hero X570. When I use the USB A ports no issues.
I recently purchased one of the front panel USB ports, and even there the USB C ports misbehave. Using the USB A ports shows no issues.
Do these USB C ports have special drivers or motherborad drivers?

EDIT: I've tested with 3 different USB C to USB C cables. 50cm, 1M, and 2M cables. Tested on my Galaxy Note 8 and MI A1.

Motherboard I'm running is Crosshair Hero VIII, which runs on the same BIOS as the Dark Hero. So try out 3801, it's working good so far for me.
*
I'm on 3801 as well. I only recently found out that Asus forces TPM on now starting from 3801(TPM or Discrete, no off). Recently I started noticing stutters when playing YouTube videos or audio playback via Foobar or via VLC. But it's so random, like in a week probably once. So far i haven't noticed it when I'm playing games.
I'll just hold for the May bios fix.

I do also agree that USB disconnection can be related with cable issue.

All the DACs I'm currently testing at the moment (Topping DX3, FiiO K9 Pro, JDS Labs Element 3 and iFi Zen Dac v2) all stopped having USB disconnections after I switched my old ugreen USB-B 3.0 cable to a new Vention USB-B 3.0 cable.

So while AGESA does have something to do with USB disconnecting, the USB cable is also another culprit to look into.
*
Dang, I use alot of UGREEN cables. So far their USB A to C connectors work fine. Only Port C.
Guess I'll need to get my hands other brands then.

5800x3D is pretty difficult to get a la carte. Even if you get it, still costs more than a 5900x which is bonkers.

Other than that, 5800x3D is a mighty hot CPU as well.
*
Is it okay to pair 5800X3D with air cooler like Dark Rock Pro 4 or must use AIO water cooler?

Bit of a.....AMD trademark. They won't find their groove until the 3rd iteration of AM5.

I can foresee some type of boost on the Smart Memory function side. Been hearing about the Radeons having big caches...

So x3d is official for 8, 12, 16 7000 series. Wonder if the temp will reach 125 "C at full load.
