Oh my, sorry to hear that.

Hmmmmm.... hamsters can show sickness in a lot of ways... being skinny and slow may mean he got some internal thing going on. This is the cons of keeping hamsters.... because their lifespan is so short, any sickness can get to them fast and cause sudden deaths...

Wanna ask if "delikate super premium" is good?? I jz bought one pack at SK just now. BEfore this, i only give all my hamsters a mix of oats, kuaci and barleys and sometimes some vegetables (long beans and choy sum only). So, is delikate super premium a good brand?? And I bought two syrians and one more toyogo box - hehe. The syrians are RM 12 each but the uncle sold to me at price RM 11 each. One is wholly white except the buttock got a bit of slight brown and got two brown patches around the eyes - looks like GP .. And the other syrian is a silver het grey (i think). Will post up some pictures maybe tonite. Planning to put one syrian at one cage and the other in a toyogo container.

Cyberjaya ... too far away to go to Ikano. So, I hardly go unless if i had to, then I'll go. If nothing special, then I won't go - too far away. Btwn, how much is prestige?? I think I'll get prestige once they finish this pack of delikate.

i think if ur from Cyberjaya... u can consider going to Petsmore Petaling Street or Petsmore Quennspark at Jalan Peel, Cheras... but the Queenspark one have more convenient parking facilities... 1 pack is rm12 if not mistaken... if got member card 10% discount... sounds very far, but if u use the highway u wont notice it...
*
Are u from cyberjaya too?? Ermm .. i dunno how to get to cheras tongue.gif. Going to KL is much further away than going to Ikano tongue.gif.

The petshop at SK only sells Delikate and Habitrail. I personally prefer Habitrail coz it has less coloring. If u feed ur hamster wif delikate, u'll notice that they left the colorful biscuit out.........
Do post some pics on ur syrian lah.......  brows.gif

I'm still at campus - no cam with me. I'll post either tonite or tomolo nite. Dunno my digi cam got batt or not tongue.gif. Long time neva charge but kept using sweat.gif.

Delikate is... erm.... too much colouring. Habitrail is much better. In Delikate, you are actually paying more for the pellets... which is nothing much than corn and soya... The best is giving a mixture. I give Habitrail mixed with Prestige....

You said that you used to feed your old Syrian with sunflower seeds, oats and barley.... not a good diet at all. Oats, when consumed too much can caused impaction.
Yes, I agree with you. Habitrail is better than Delikate in my terms also.

Ic. I'll try and get Prestige when i got go to Ikano. Not going for this couple of weeks coz got exams. I think I mixed up Delikate with Prestige tongue.gif.

QUOTE(dazzle @ Mar 13 2007, 06:27 PM)

wanna ask ar .. my syrian is golden in colour but the inside of the fur (the 1st half of it growing frm the skin) is greyish in colour. Does that mean that she is a silver het grey?? Or is there such thing as golden het grey? tongue.gif And then the other syrian is wholly white in colour and has two brown patches at the eyes. What is that colour then ?

P/s: i couldn't take any pictures at all coz they're moving pretty fast. No chance to snap any still pictures.

Wah... good handy work also.... but the wire mesh availabel in our local hardware shops are galvanised wire... and I was about to DIY a rat cage when I came upon many websites saying that galvanised wire can be toxic.... the best if coated wire mesh which I do not think we can find here.... Well, hope not much chewing is done lah.

Also, the floor pan is a bit too low.... bedding sure kick out later unless your hamster doesn't dig. Overall, this kind of cage has good ventilation lah.

Did you look at the old hamster thread? A pic of a Het silver grey is on the 1st page.
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/348425

I do not think there is a golden het grey. Silver grey looks silvery... a light grey. Het grey would look slightly creamy in colour.

If it is golden and the fur under coat is something else, it could be some other colour. Is your hamster a black eyed hamster?
*
She is long-haired. Eyes totally black in colour - shining black like cyrstal. Then her entire body is golden in colour and the inside of the fur is greyish (not silver) wor. Yay,, i saw the picture in the old thread and his colour is much much much darker than that. Golden brown and inside is normal grey colour. I wanted to snap some pictures of her but she kept moving around non-stop.

if u have syrian, dun use the mushroom-like container ler. I keep my syrian in a huge toyogo box - RM 30 over type. Then i use that mushroom like water container lor. Middle of the nite, my housemate suddenly came to me and said "here's ur little hammie" rclxub.gif . My syrian escaped to her room without me knowing it. And I found that the mushroom like container was at the edge of the toyogo. It actually managed to push the whole bottle to the corner and cabut via climbing onto the leaf of the bottle and escape .. geez .. I neva expect it to be so energetic and strong whistling.gif
