that's called FEAD belt…not timing belt. don't be confused.
*
ah sorry, used to call that the timing belt, found out these two are different things. tongue.gif

QUOTE(ah_suknat @ Nov 13 2019, 06:43 AM)
I saw people spraying silicone lubricant on the timing belt?
*
Not sure about that, but I know the last thing you want is having a slipping belt in car. hmm.gif

QUOTE(kweil @ Nov 13 2019, 11:31 AM)
But the clicking 'duk' noise is coming from inside dashboard when compressor disengage.. only can hear it inside car cabin..
dont know if anyone experience the same with their 2019 saga??
*
Hmmm, maybe the refrigerant level is not optimum? Can send to SC with air con service to ask them check.

I just update ECU on last saturday at proton cose. but they dont said anything about TCU update  hmm.gif  . saga 4at. foc
*
4AT should have no problem with TCU, only CVT has the jerking problem. I also was waiting for TCU update, but seems like they stopped supporting for CVT

QUOTE(strikepcw @ Aug 23 2019, 02:30 PM)
Im going to SC have a check on this too on Monday.
I also got this tiktiktik  last 10 sec after turn off engine (actually it also tik-ing when engine on). So this is caused by the 'purge canister'?

Beside, mine got a kirik kiring kirik kiring sound come from front, mostly kirik kiring ksound come when I press gas harder and engine in a higher pressure/rpm. Anyone know what happen to this?  hmm.gif
*
I need to update this kirik kirik sound issue.

I recently notice the same problem with my engine. The sound didn't go away even after I changed to new canister.

I did some research, it is engine knocking sound. That is due to carbon build up inside our engine, and the easiest way to get your engine filled with carbon is city drive. (I am jamming everyday in penang so I am not surprised)

The symptoms will be, the harder you press the pedal, the louder/more frequent the kirik kirik sound. And if you release fully the pedal, the sound immediately gone. If you seeing these symptoms, that means your car is having knocking issue. Pretty common if your car is more than 2 years in traffic jams.

So how to solve?
Well, obviously is to clean up the carbon. You can try to pump ron97 first since ron97 burn more efficiently and can burn off some carbon inside the engine. (Recommend with caltex since they have techron inside their fuel). I tried ron97 and the symptoms reduced a lot.

Next is, buy carbon cleaner from online, or they call it fuel addictive. I bought Chevron Techron but haven't tried it out, that's the best fuel system cleaner according to online ranking lah. This confirm can clean out all the carbon inside the engine and solve the knocking problem.

well, you have the concept wrong.

...
*
thanks for the detailed explanation! Especially about the octane number in fuel part. Guess I still have many to learn tongue.gif

However, for the fuel addictive part, I did some research online and watched a few youtube videos too, ya the ability to clean up the carbon might be minor, but it still can do the job to clean some carbon deposits right? Somemore it is definitely a cheaper alternative than overhauling the whole engine to do a full carbon cleaning. I mean there is no harm trying those addictive/cleaner first, to see if it improves the situation.

For air filter, should we change to K&N filter to ensure a cleaner engine? But I heard it is oil-based which can dirty/clog up the O2 sensor and MAF sensor.

Yes Yes! This is exactly the situation on me. Had been driving 3 years city drive, notice this sound after around 1 year+.
SC told me the same but after i tried a tank shell 97 and feel like the same, so i didnt continue it (tot SC qincai cakap saja).

Thanks for the thumbsup.gif
hmm.gif so according this, only way to clean/solve this kirik/knocking is to send to ppl to open up and clean it...

like the guy said, there is nothing we can do to stop carbon build-up, especially when we jam everyday in dirty environment, apart from doing proper maintenance to slow the build-up down.

The only thing I am not sure is whether this minor engine knocking can cause any severe damage to the engine if left unattended. hmm.gif hmm.gif

Stock tyres really noisy.. planning to change it after 1k service..

between conti cc6 and yokohama bluearth es32, which 1 will you take?? or any other tyres recommended?? preferably quiet tyre..
*
using CC6, definitely quieter and smoother ride now. My stock tires lasted only 30,000 KM, i think that is pretty bad durability. doh.gif doh.gif

Our campro engine with ron95 knocking is common, but does not bring any significant negative effects as I've spoken with G car care (campro specialist).

Our 1.3 engines are high compression and he said if just change the stroke rod + other few minor things, become 1.6 engine d lol.
*
QUOTE(singk @ Nov 23 2019, 06:07 PM)
hmmm.... official figure for the compression ratio is a typical 10:1, i do suspect they actually make it compressed harder, said like 11:1 hence the tendency of knocking. I'm not sure about persona or should i say campro 1.6 engine having the issue of knocking or not.

stroke rod? or is it crankshaft? or the conn rod? Maybe is worth while to have it kitted to have 1.6L displacement while maintaining the original block and everything, i think the cooling system still able to handle the cooling capacity, see the full width radiator itself should be capable enough already.
*
QUOTE(BOTAK_WAI @ Nov 23 2019, 06:20 PM)
cvt version should be easy upgrade to 1.6

4at version dont know compatible or not…just afraid they change the crankshaft to fit new gearbox.

I hate the pump gun also, I always stop pumping after 2nd click to protect the fuel system and EVAP system, then I go start engine it is 1 bar less from full.

Did some mod on the accelerator pedal to make it organ style like those Mazda cars.

The effect in traffic jam is smaller but it does improve the comfort. But most of the discomfort from traffic jam comes from the brake, I need to ask the tire shop to help me lower it the next time I do alignment. I know it is for safety they made it high, but it is really tiring my foot.

But for highway drive, the effect is really significant. No more tiredness after long drive.

I want to make it more 90degree but there is a big bump under the accelerator so it is blocking the base plate.

Btw, this one I bought from taobao, I can't find in any local online platforms. And ignore my slipper please hahahaha xD

An organ type accelerator pedals are mostly used by continental cars and in some Japanese make models. I have used an organ type before and it feels more relaxed and less tension on your calf and shin muscle after a long drive.

That makes ones foot placed rested entirely on the pedal as compared to suspended pedals.

I kind of like the way you installed the pedal. Care to share more pics of how you had installed it.
*
Sorry for late update, here are the extra images of my installation.

QUOTE(SMH @ Dec 2 2019, 01:46 PM)
Just curious, can you 'floor' the pedal after this mod?

And did you cut a hole in your carpet to accomodate it?

And which one you choose? the one with curvy-bottomr? or the flat-bottom?

user posted image

Saw it here:
https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a230r...d=4412440358116
*
I only cut the third party carpet I installed, the original one still can work with this pedal, it is using the magic tape to stick to the bottom of the carpets. Quite stable.

I am using flat-bottom, no problem with flooring, full throttle no problem drool.gif drool.gif

QUOTE(SMH @ Dec 2 2019, 01:49 PM)
By the way, this mod potentially can also be mod as left foot rest?

and you're looking for tyre shop to lower brake pedal, is it because SC not willing to do it for you?
*
No it can't it has no solid bottom but with a spring. Also I searched for any 3rd party left foot rest, but it requires some existing screws to mount on. Too bad saga doesn't have any available screw to reuse at that area, only the steering rod which I don't think that is a safe thing to do.

*
why not, I would advice you to change to R15 since you are going to change the rims. But you need to re-calibrate the speedometer

balancing off, go tire shop do. Not depending on mileage one, it's depend on the road condition u are driving and your driving style

Hi guys how to remove the meter cover ah? (Black one)
Not going to open up the meter, just the black part only. There is rattling at the part, I want to open up and put some foams inside.

I only see two screws at the top, after that we just pull it out? I scare I might break something...
