QUOTE(Chrono-Trigger @ Mar 8 2017, 09:43 AM) Won't the agent banks be affected by the role out of this system? Less transaction over the counter, and less commission for them? will they give preference to agent banks in term of availability of units? I'm not too sure. I think despite what many people think (some claiming got syndicate or insider job and all) PNB has always ensured that it's an open free-for-all-fair-game environment when it comes to purchasing their FP units. Yes some of their customers leverage the relationship they have with their bankers and leave their passbook and all, PNB has never supported or agreed to such things. So what happens if PNB opens up other channels such as mobile apps or even ATMs? Well you can't really blame PNB now can you. Their job is to open as many channels as possible to meet their customer's needs. Banks/agent are the collateral damage? I personally believe banks become PNB agents for the loans that is offered. The income they generate from giving out loans far more outweighs whatever transnational commission they get I think This post has been edited by hyelbaine: Mar 8 2017, 10:08 AM

i think similar to online banking, asnb portal gave retail investors the same convenience to buy into it (just hope they allow sell later ) so similar to online banking, OTC service will mostly for those traditional or wealthy investors, which might be slowly dying out as more and more people opt for online transaction may save asnb cost on multiple agent commission, instead focus more on their network infrastructure for the online portal

I doubt banks get much out of processing those FP transactions; hence the tellers usually is not super keen to do it. But the ASB loans and VP funds are more lucrative and hence the attitude of the bank staff change 360 degree when you tell them you want those instead Besides, management fee charged by PNB is very low; for ASB that I remember is only 0.35%; they won't be paying much to the banks for processing the transactions I guess. Expense ratio seem low as well

All agent banks are fair play. Siapa cepat dia dapat whenever units are available. This post has been edited by Ramjade: Mar 8 2017, 10:17 AM

She also has lots of money in American bank stock, bought it during the 2008 crisis when the prices were dirt cheap. (When everyone was selling, she bought) From what I see now, she now has foreign exchange gain + capital gain from the american stocks. so, someone like her, also put money in PNB.... She used to tell me, if want to retire comfortably in Malaysia, taking into consideration future inflation - must have 5 million cash. QUOTE(kpfun @ Mar 8 2017, 08:54 AM) I am really surprised by ASNB how they run their beta test with such approach - opening freely access to staff by a link without a comprehensive check on the user registration. In practical, the beta for a highly secured application should be opened to a batch of qualified and selected users only. It is not like this way - Somebody gets the link, register the user access, and then, the access pass is granted, without proofing the user is the selected one or not, in this case staff. The only control is hoping staff do not forward the link to non staff only. Wow! Come on... this is a financial software, great impact, are them challenging or insulting hacker now? I'm not in IT, so I won't sure the readiness of the infrastructure to support million users. It's not official directive from the management, it's just a reminder from my friends in IT. They just told us to wait for a few weeks for the system to stabilise before telling others. I'm sure they're ironing out all the bugs to ensure a smooth launch later.
