I doubt you can load the pails to more than maybe 20kg per hand? I don't know. That's like a 40kg dumbbell deadlift. Won't do much aside from making you better at picking up pails of water.

QUOTE(viex @ Jan 20 2017, 06:23 PM) I find it effective, especially in building core muscles. Cheap, and much heavier than most dumbbells, easy to manage. It looks cheap, but useful for strengthening oblique muscles with water bucket side bends. Can use it in deadlift too. Anyone with similar experience? deadlift with water bucket - quite okay how about other exercises?

So I assume water bucket with 20 liter water easily equal to 20 kg ?

Yes that is correct. So you'll be doing a 20kg per hand. Not very effective as a barbell deadlift substitute imo.

Cheap way to get some of your workout in and all but one factor to consider is, will using those big & bulky water bottles/pails compromise on your form like when you're doing deadlifts for example. You can try out strongman style workouts and improvise it instead of the conventional ones you see done with traditional barbell etc. coz in my opinion 20kg per side gets pretty easy real fast when you're doing compound movements like squat. But then again, if you want to be a serious lifter, you'll have to use barbells & dumbells etc to achieve your goals. This post has been edited by Studio15: Feb 20 2017, 03:47 PM

Instead of curling and deadlift, do the farmers walk as long as u can. Or the suitcase walk. So much better bang for buck.
