QUOTE(UserU @ Aug 20 2022, 01:55 PM) Why do you say that? Have you been to their various offices at KL Sentral (hint, they have more than 1 office). Plenty of different roles available there from YouTube, Google Cloud (new growth segment) and Google Workspaces besides the usual advertising and marketing areas. Just that Google has frozen hiring in quite a bit of countries |

QUOTE(Chronox @ Feb 24 2007, 01:16 AM) Yes, it is the best of the best place to work. Cries in Google Graveyard productsBut from what I read, it is very difficult to get in. They only select the best of the best people to get in. Therefore, your attitude is already right before you go in. You won't spend your free time doing something not productive. |

The roles are not usually advertised and they target top talents in the region to join the fray. A lot of the roles are recommended in by internal Googlers.Guess lots of things have changed since then. |

QUOTE(tishaban @ Feb 24 2007, 12:24 AM) It's not 100% free time, it's only 1 day per week but that's pretty significant. Mind to PM me your company name Google is nice in the sense that it attracts the best and brightest people there. That to me is interesting. Workplace wise, my current office already has all the above, aside from the free food. We only get free hot drinks |

Most tech hires for Google APAC are based in Singapore. For Malaysian techies, if you are not fortunate enough to be in Silicon Valley or Austin, Texas, the next best destination is Singapore. I am in the cyber security field based in Singapore and despite all the talk of recessions etc tech has never grown faster than now. Tech is the new goldmine and is the ultimate meritocratic frontier. Tongkat, malas and songlap mindsets need not apply. Mavik liked this post

Only applies to tech firms in meritocracy-friendly nations right?I am in the cyber security field based in Singapore and despite all the talk of recessions etc tech has never grown faster than now. Tech is the new goldmine and is the ultimate meritocratic frontier. Tongkat, malas and songlap mindsets need not apply. I don't think Malaysian tech firms are anywhere near meritocratic, generally speaking. |
