It's not 100% free time, it's only 1 day per week but that's pretty significant.

Google is nice in the sense that it attracts the best and brightest people there. That to me is interesting.

Workplace wise, my current office already has all the above, aside from the free food. We only get free hot drinks biggrin.gif

Yes, it is the best of the best place to work.

But from what I read, it is very difficult to get in. They only select the best of the best people to get in. Therefore, your attitude is already right before you go in. You won't spend your free time doing something not productive.

From what I've heard from a close friend who works there, the new Digi HQ office doesn't have cubicles, anyone can sit wherever they want with their laptops to do their work. Very cool idea. The landscaping is also very nice, plus their meeting rooms are more like cozy, private dining rooms than the typical sterile meeting room.

Digi is definitely up there among the best employers in Malaysia, however I'm happy with just having telecommuting and flexi hour benefits from my current employer biggrin.gif

wow i am impressed if employees actually given such freedom to roam around with no cubicle setting. Such work environment definitely eliminate the falling asleep in office syndrome tongue.gif tongue.gif

The idea is great, but after I've seen it, I guess it's not exactly my style. No personalization of your cubicle, a bit more of a hassle to keep your mugs/books/magazines at one place ie. you have to store them in your locker at the end of each day instead of just leaving them at your cubicle. Maybe i'm just lazy biggrin.gif

Oh about falling asleep, my previous office had a leather sofa for that purpose. My current office has a resting area with a few beds. Better to spend 1 hour sleeping and 3 hours productive in the afternoon. biggrin.gif
