how ya doin bro ???

my lcd kong already ...so looking for repairs in jb...

most of them quoted 300

Aduh ... except for one .
*
Cause changing the LCD is tough repair. They need to take out all the parts to get to the screen and then scrap the adhesive using heatgun. Time consuming.

I am picking up phone repair as a hobby now. I won't do soldering of ICs but simple parts replacement should be fun enough for me. For those who want to change battery or screens, I can help. You order the parts yourself and I will replace for you. I have done a few iphones and redmi note 3 repairs. I will charge you very minimum.

Battery changing for redmi note 3...free.
Screen replacement - RM50.

I will be very careful with the work but I will not be responsible for any damages. So far I have not broke anything... rclxms.gif

PM me if you are interested.

Is there miui 10 beta already available for RN3? More importantly, will the OS version be upgraded?

Mine is still using 8.2.x.x. No problems at all. So I won't upgrade unless it's OS upgrade.

I was quoted Rm130 for battery replacement.

Is this a normal price? Worth it?

Anyone here replaced their RN3 battery themselves?

RM40 for the battery + whatever amount you want to donate to charity.

I enquired b4 at phone repair shop in JB, non-original battery + installation cost rm80.
*
The cost of the battery is around RM40. So they charge you RM40 for workmanship. Go for it.

My 2yr old RN3 can only last half a day normally instead of 1 full day. Will get it changed b4 year end.
*
I cannot tahan when battery cannot even last 1 full day. I do not carry powerbank. It is waste of time and effort. And you can wait until year end? You are really patient!

Pure Android OS...

I am sure someone will port pure android into Pocophone. You cannot do the same for the SoC.

Well, just a suggestion. I do understand some people doesn't really care about bang for bucks as their requirement is more important. Whichever phone you buy, both are good phone in their respective way.

my RN3 screen got hairline crack due to dropped frm height, functionality wise is ok, so just need to change the glass right? i saw selling in tabao about RM20
*
Yes, you will need to separate the glass from the LED using heatgun/hairblower and it then clean the glue. You need to also buy the right type of glue to seal back the glass. It is a lot of work and high chance for things to go wrong. I don't even want to mess with those things. I will repair directly by getting the screen with the frame. This cost around RM80-100. That alone is not something simple. Good luck.

my lcd coming out liao due to battery bump

how much to replace in jb area ?

tahnks .
*
LCD is around RM90.
Battery is around RM35
On/Off flex button is around RM15

Take note this is only the cost of the parts. Does not include and repair fee yet.

You can self DIY if you want.

Or

If you can wait a bit, you can send it to me. I have some people that send their phone to me via poslaju even around KL area. It's fine if you would like to source local repair person. Totally up to you. PM me.

On another note, seems like the on/off button is a problem to a lot of people. My RN3 also had such problem and I have repaired it. However, it is still not as sensitive as before but good enough to use.

do u know where can i get those battery and on/off flex button for my RN3 ?
prefer good quality or original parts
*
I do have a supplier and he is located in Cheras. However, he only supply to resellers. I got to know him through a friend and he only sell to me cause I told him I am fixing phones for charity. Cause he sells in volume.

Alternatively, you can buy from Shopee. Some are cheaper and some are more expensive. You have to compare yourself. It is not really that much cheaper from my source unless I take in larger volume.

is it difficult to DIY change the battery and the on/off button?

mine just died few days ago. cant charge at all. tested with few different power adapters and cables.
*
Not that hard if you have done these kind of work before. If first time then it will be a bit scary. I would rate changing Battery and on/off button for Redmi Note 3 at 6/10. Do take note after changing the power button, it won't be as sensitive as when it was new. Also, this is a very common issue with Redmi Note 3.
