I would say I'm 80% of the time on LTE and 20% Wifi and my battery life is somewhat similar. Usually 5.5 hours to 6 hours of SOT.
*
I would say I'm 20-80% on LTE and wifi because most of the time I'm in the office or at home.
But the office wifi sometimes cacat a bit and there's connection but no internet or something like that.

There is the battery saving setting but I don't want to use.

If the screen on time is around 5 to 6 hours, it's completely normal.
*
I think if the screen is AMOLED, the battery life will be a lot longer. My Samsung J5 has amoled 5" screen and the battery life with same heavy usage is almost the same except it has 2,600mAh battery only.

Forgot to close auto update is it laugh.gif

Mine manually update
Feels increased performance after updated biggrin.gif

Right off the bat I think *maybe* (using the term loosely) better RAM usage since now is 1.6Gb free instead of the usual 1.3Gb free when close all apps.
But RAM management or usage isn't written in the changelog.

After update, suddenly got this exceed data limit warning.. Afaik, i never set limit for my data... Even if i set to 0 also it still appear... :-(
*

When you put 0 it means the phone will give notification if it exceeds 0Mb/Gb usage. You need to turn it off.

In the settings go to SIM cards & mobile networks > Set data plan > Uncheck the Data usage. Scroll down and uncheck the Data usage notification.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

I understand the confusion. My first impression of this setting is it will turn off the internet data for the phone. I turned it off, tested, and checked the data connection and it still runs.
Xiaomi needs better UI Engineers.

Asked the same thing earlier, seems like its their new thing.  sad.gif  hate it though

That happened to me on 8.2.1 too. So I guess 8.2 don't have vibrate on fingerprint.
Also it unlocks doesn't matter if the phone in pocket or face down, if you put correct fingerprint it will unlock. I wish they can bring back no unlocking in pocket.

I jump from 8.1.x to 8.2.2. Yeap wish they would bring it back sad.gif , haptic feedback is somehwhat necessary

Yeah, I really need the pocket mode thing too. My resting hand in pocket always touch the fingerprint. I don't want to pocketdial other people. Last time it only opened the browser and some gibberish, so still ok.

Hai guys, can i know is there any possible to claim warranty if the phone went to water.
The screen is blank but the notification sound is there. And the notification indicator is on..
*
Water damage is not covered in the warranty, you'll need to contact Xiaomi for repairs. Might be expensive.

Refer to:

I'm very sorry to hear this but i'm afraid that you might have to replace it. I'm surprise to know t ...

I've encountered the same issue (water damage) but not as worst as yours. I used mi3 on the seaside for photo shooting, after using the phone for hours and it hang. The screen was not responsive at all. But i still manage to turn on my phone, it just that the screen is not responding.

I send my phone to the service center and they told me my phone cannot be fixed due to the water damage on the component. If i insist to fix it, i can almost buy a new one. I was kinda shock on this, coz the phone is not reliable and durable. I admitted taking the photos with slight wet hands. My friends who use their samsung phone and iphone on the seaside which do not have this problem.

i think xiaomi should look seriously on this issue, coz i need to get another new phone again! and I would not consider mi3 again after this incident.

disappointed

You feel Your phone no ui lag because you come from the most lag phone of all Samsung. Some more you bought lowest end of Samsung.
*
Correct. For the Note 3 price point, there's no lag whatsoever. Unless this is a flagship phone then I would be unimpressed by the performance.

Which version 2017 or 2016 ?
*
2016 I guess. Only 8 gig storage, had to constantly uninstall apps to install new apps, then uninstall again for different apps. Phone lags when too many apps open. No compass. No ambient light sensor. No LED notification light.

I have to compliment their screen though very beautiful and vibrant. It got rolled over by cars on the road, still working except for the cracked screen.

The guy thinks the 10% is "(10%x1)" is it?

So 10-(10%x1)?

Is my math fail?

****Edit
Oh ok I get it now. The phone divides the percentage first (10÷100) and then 100-0.1.
To it, division ÷ takes precedence over subtraction. But then even following BODMAS you don't use it for percentages, only division. And the formula shows percentage not division.

Just figured it out.

BODMAS in this scenario applies to divisions not percentages.
But I do agree, this falls in grey area. If you want to calculate from percentage, you need to explain what percentage is it referring to. Without clarifying what the 10% is from the formula looks incomplete or hanging.

The correct full formula should be 100-(10%x100). With this formula my Redmi Note 3 calculator shows 90.

WolframAlpha, windows calculator, and google calculator all show 90 for the 100-10% formula. It assumes the percentage refers to the 100.

My phone had some problems too but it is intermittent. I have mentioned about it earlier, its the memory card notification. After updating it will show the notification for a few days, and then stops. Last time after updated automatically a few days ago it shows, and starting from yesterday or the day before I think it stopped.
Weird.

Also, Belphegor if you want to sell your phone, you might need to mention the Waze issue in the listing. Or else you could get a trade dispute brought up.

That's not an issue after format. laugh.gif I just reformat my phone and it works fine. Probably some setting messed up during previous use. biggrin.gif Sorry for causing the confusion. notworthy.gif

And also, I honestly think Redmi Note 3 have some issues with Celcom. My friend using other line works brilliant, but when I use mine issue arise. sad.gif

Ooo, like that ok la laugh.gif

I'm interested to get the Digi Unlimited 150 plan since my new house no internet. But I'm not sure how the RMN3 will react to prolonged hotspot usage. Will it get hot or have any adverse effects if I use hotspot for a few hours at night every day?

Also, is there any other way? I know one kopitiam guy uses a USB wifi dongle with the Digi sim card inside, but that means he's using a different phone line for his mobile phone. Called customer service but he said cannot clone sim card to put one in phone and one in USB wifi dongle.
