Hi guys. I've been looking at the Acer E5 475G for basic work and a bit of gaming. Seems to be the best value (sub-RM2500) considering the specs (i5 7200U, GTX 940MX 4gb GDDR5).

Does anyone have this laptop? Can recommend?

BTW, who are the best (as in, most reliable when it comes to RMA) online retailers to buy from? I'm new to Malaysia, and in Sabah so online is the only real option. I've seen the model for sale through various sellers for various prices on Lazada, Lelong, etc..., but I don't know if the cheapest ones are necessarily reliable or reputable.

When you face problems, do you usually deal direct with the manufacturer (Asus, Acer, whoever)? Not with the retailer?

OK OK. Back home you usually deal with the retailer during their warranty period (usually one year) then after that you might send away to the manufacturer. I guess it's because there aren't (at least to my knowledge) any official service centres there (excluding apple), so it just makes it easier to deal with a local retailer if you can.

Anyway, does that mean it is safe to buy from whichever online retailer, so long as they provide you with the product and a receipt, because any warranty issues are best dealt with via the manufacturer (in this case, probably Acer)?

as Laptop no longer manufacture in Dell Malaysia, they are all come from China..
just arrange 1 together with other model... wont be hard for Dell

More cores can be utilized for emulators.

Yeah, probably greater power consumption at 100% usage. Don't know about the clockspeed too, since last time, more cores will need to be clocked lower to lower power consumption/heat management. Ryzen for laptop sure is taking it's sweet time though, if too late, could possibly be dead upon arrival.
