Hi dear sifoos.

Looking a laptop for my friend. Mostly doing architecture stuff and rendering.

1. Preferred brand : None
2. Budget : +- RM6k
3. Usage : Architecture stuff and rendering
4. Screen Size : 14-15.6. She prefers a lightweight laptop with portability.

Thank you in advance
*
as myway said... if doing heavy rendering.. and you have the budget for it.. xps will be the best.... its not really portable as it is heavy.. but if the bag is quite comfortable enuf, 15" will not feel really heavy

Hello, hope you guys can help recommend me a laptop here

1. Preferred brand : Any except Acer
2. Budget : 1500 +/-
3. Usage : Browsing the net with many tabs opened, casual dota 2 gaming at most
4. Screen Size : 15" at least with 4/8gb ram, dedicated gpu possible ?
Thank you.
*
Acer Aspire ES 15 ES1-533-C74Y 15.6" N3350, 4GB, 500GB, Intel HD, W10H....

this is the best specs with N3350 even you dont want acer.. else you had spend HP 15-ay036TU where processor is lower than acer...

and btw.. 4gb ram might be a single slot.. no extra slot..

Thanks guys for the recommendation!

I'm not really wise in choosing between these four, can anyone give me their pointers on these 4 laptops?

Thank you.

Illegear is customized gaming laptop... but if you afford to buy it.. that Illegear is really a good deal and good service support. somehow, that MSI is really a good bargain as well. however, 1050 and 1050ti is not much different. so, i think GPU is fair enuf... freeDOS.. well.. can install your own OS without bloatware instead of having OS but tons of pre-install bloatware...

8gb ram, maybe more than enuf.. want spend few hundred bucks for 16gb ram also good idea.

lenovo can gtfo laugh.gif well, just joking.. i feel like that lenovo is slightly overprice and expensive. and additional features is not really great compare the other brand. I think either you get MSI or Illegear only.

i dont think Acer is reliable !

well.. instead bashing the brand itself... you should blame the faulty of the model.. not all brand is 100% came out good... but some model range of the notebook must avoided at all cost.. dont bubtthurt and go flame this brand is not good but using only 1 laptop model only..

The Vostro series are entry-level models for small businesses-task usage.

there is acer nitro alternative for dell vostro.. better graphic card. and price also more or less the same as lenovo.

QUOTE(Strobe @ Jul 2 2017, 09:09 PM)
After my last post here failed to get any recommendations, I found a lenovo laptop on lazada that fit my RM3000 budget best.

LENOVO Y520-15IKBN 80WK0050MJ
-Intel® Core™ i5-7300HQ Processor , 2.5GHz , 3M Smart Cache, Max Turbo Frequency 3.5 GHz
-4GB RAM (1 x 4GB DDR4 2400)
-1 TB 7MM 5400rpm SATA HDD
-15.6" FHD (1920 x 1080) , 16:9; IPS; Anti-Glare (Slim)
-NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 2GB GDDR5
-Windows 10 Home
-2 Years Lenovo Onsite (Include 1st Year Carry In Accidental Damage Protection)

This seems like the best spec I could get for this price, but I'm not sure if this is the right choice as I'm worried about the quality

Would any sifus be so kind to comment about this laptop or offer some better recommendations?
*
1tb 5400rpm kinda slow.. but... if it support m.2sata ssd... then you may consider to upgrade it in the future.
you had to google the common issue the user facing..

QUOTE(Edward_Ng @ Jul 3 2017, 02:22 AM)
Guys i need some help here too.

my budget 4k-5k

Spec i want will be as follow:-
Processor- I5 or I7
GPU : GTX1050ti 4GB VRAM
Ram- 8GB DDR4
HDD- 1TB SSHD
SSD- 256 GB or 120GB ( Prefer 256 GB if budget allow or else 120GB is fine)
Warranty:- 2 years minimum

The above pc is prepare for the game Destiny 2.

Currently i am leaning toward MSI Brand or Illegear brand (Q5 Evo).

Need some suggestion or any other better model or other option. Thanks in advanced.

quoted from one of user using Illegear z5

QUOTE
1. ILLEGEAR has better after sales service. (But they  support whole Malaysia for pickup/onsite) **edited

MSI got quite a lot of built in software which is for gamer, but IMO I feel that all of those is just marketing strategy, like cooler booster is just the fan with max speed. sweat.gif
If you're going to have external monitor, check their display port and hdmi port also. Z5 is having HDMI 1.4, I think MSI is using HDMI 1 (not sure, please correct me if I'm wrong). Just google what is the different of these 2.
but if you went for gaming only... proc i5 is more than enuf.. graphic card is the main point here when want for gaming... 256gb ssd should be the most min ssd storage you must have... storing Operating system on it... and games installation file folder put at 1tb sshd....
