For Carz Platinum with correct method you can get effective cash back rate ranging around 3.5%-4.5% . The method are:
a)100% use it for petrol only.
b)Pay on Statement date and leave a balance of Rm5.01
*
Hi, can clarify for the two points? Why need 100% used for petrol only? Why RM5.01? hmm.gif

Leave Rm5.01 so that platinum rebate becomes 5%,if rm5.00 and below the rate is only 2%. Only use it for petrol because other purchased the interest also calculated already so not worth it.
*
Oh, I kinda understand now. So in conclusion, in order to get 5% rebate, the amount I need to bring forward is "5% * petrol_transaction + 0.01"?

What about the next month, let say I use again RM100, how much I should pay?

Is there any risk for this trick? Like the outstanding amount will keep increase the interest or get penalty for not pay in full?

Next month let say statement date is 3 march and the amount is rm300. On 4 march pay up RM 294.99 will be ok
*
I'm confused again. So the RM5.01 is fixed for this trick regardless or the amount of petrol I pumped? Is it Ambank stated RM5 is the minimum outstanding need to bring forward in order to enjoy 5%?

Now that Maybank FCB has reduce the cb to 1%, I think the next best no frill cash back card is OCBC World Master? I know there are better cards for contactless and different categories. But I am looking for card that can earn some cashback when the spending falls out from those categories.

Just curious why hold so many card ?

Different use case under different scenario. SST is nothing if you can plan and fully obtained the cash back.

But does one really need 23 credit cards? Maybe you can fully utilise it but extremely waste time to micromanage so many cards just to earn small money. worth to do that?
*
Maybe I am poor, they are not small money to me.

Poor but has 23 credit cards? Sounded irony.
You should have strong spending power (high income/networth) in order to maximize the return from cash back or reward points.
Otherwise, you use those cards for business expenses.
*
Poor enough to appreciate those cash back money.
