QUOTE(izwanikhsan @ Jan 3 2017, 07:40 PM) No new channel but more potong channels: Not acceptable at all considering we do not have much choice regarding cable tv companies in Malaysia - just like what happened with Sundance channel. Instead your schedule is full of channels of similar content. We also pay far too much for what Astro offers Astro continuously reviews its content proposition to offer the best choices and a variety of compelling content for our customers. To this end, we regret to inform that ITV Choice Channel (Ch 735) will cease transmission from 16th January 2017 at 00:15 hours as the viewership trends for ITV have not been within expectation. However, we will be showing selected titles via Subscription On Demand (SVOD) pack |

Why are you cancelling ITV Choice (735)?
In the 15+ years I've subscribed to Astro I have suffered seeing it decline from a good service to a joke! With ITV gone - it is hardly worth the quite expensive monthly cost! |

I agree 100%. I'm so upset with this stupid decision. I called Astro last night and they said the result of a survey indicated that not many people watch this channel. I do and i pay for it every month. Astro will not be replacing it with another channel and not reducing the subscription fee. There's nothing much worth watching anymore.

QUOTE(joshhd @ Apr 28 2017, 02:08 PM) If you can't tolerate the blueness, you can watch FTA terrestrial channels via digital TV instead from Astro. how to check whether my tv has built in digital tv tuner ?Because Digital TV in Malaysia uses MPEG4, where the image quality is much better than the one you watch on Astro. Since newer TVs has built-in digital TV tuner, just connect the cable of your UHF antenna, initiate auto scan and you should be able to receive those channels. why astro still don't use MPEG4 for FTA channel like tv3 tv2 tv1 .. why still SD? i want to ask if possible to get tv3 HD in astro platform by using digital tv |

QUOTE(joshhd @ Apr 28 2017, 11:09 AM) Well, there's a way to make your TV look better on those blur HD channels, as well as SD channels. Which is, make your TV's image quality smoother instead of sharper. i have made it to 0 sharpness but i think not comfortable with it .. because in HBO hd picture look like blur a bit so i increase to 20 .. and now a bit ok compare to 0% sharpness .. i think different tv has different settingsAdjust your TV's Sharpness setting into 0/100. Yes, all the way to 0. You may notice the image quality will look natural sharpness instead of artificial sharpness. Why am I suggesting you guys to do this? Read here: https://www.cnet.com/how-to/turn-down-your-...rpness-control/ Now my TV's sharpness is 0, I am very satisfied with the picture quality. It displays natural sharpness from source (Astro) and I don't want my TV to have image enhancement on it that will make it look unnatural. But it depends, some people prefer to have it sharpen because Astro SD channels will look blurry, but at least the MPEG2 image artifacts won't be obvious. |
