Wow...they dont want to keep fight sports channel permanently so they charge per match. Pandai.

Sport package is a luxury on Astro. But die hard football fans will still subscribe. I think I read somewhere that for now NJOI subscribers form 36% of Astro subscribers and only small portion of them are revenue-generating customers. Astro do struggle to survive, actually.

Glad that I'm not a sport enthusiast hence my family can live with Family package. Downgraded from Superpack > Nilai Pack > Now family pack just for the sake of the basic channels. Sport pack is Astro's last lifeline.

Not surprising at all ->ASTRO recorded a total 5.3m (+0.4% QoQ or 73% household penetration rate) customer base in 3Q18, of which 43% (or c.2.3m) were NJOI customers in contrast to 37% in 2Q18. The higher NJOI take-up rate suggested that subscribers continued to downplay their TV subscription plan and led the group’s TV subscription revenue to record negative sequential growth for three consecutive quarters.

Almost half of the customers are NJOI and not paying subscribers.

Iflix server is not ready for the live streaming. TM and iflix played it dirty by blocking tv3 from showing the match. Astro Arena is now full of uninteresting sport progrmas like purple league, small scale hockey and takraw matches.

There was info that TV3 crews were all ready at the stadium before the cancellation of the broadcast at the 11th hour. We should have cross carriage law like our neighbour accross the Straits.

Fans at the stadium said TV3 crews were already there with all equipments before they were asked to leave.

We'll see how iflix improve for KL vsSelangor tonight which will attract a huge numbers of viewers too

As of now, Astro’s content consists of 30% of local content and 70% of international and sports contents. The group is targeting to shift the focus to more vernacular content to achieve a more balance combination of 50% of local content and 50% of international and sports contents.

P/S: Expect more home-cooked Astro channels and programmes in the near future.

Speaking of which, Astro should have added SONY CHANNEL & GEM long time ago to join AXN, ANIMAX (HD please) and ONE HD lineup.
