Have anyone got into this situation before, or can advise the best action ?

Yesterday I transfer via FPX for the MBB 2.59 eIFD promotion, which I have done before, but yesterday the transaction hang right before it returns to MBB website. So I have the SMS from HLB that the money is transferred out, FPX email that the transaction is success, but no FD is placed in MBB. I waited until today to place another transaction which is successful, but yesterday FD is still missing.

Tried calling Customer service, but service center is close. Should i report via writing ? Wait until after Raya ? or any other numbers I can call for assistance ?

MBB eFD system is bad. First, unlike HLB and PBe, MBB never show the promo rate during we making placement eFD online (eg: 2.59% p.a@ tenure 6M), then after you made placement eFD, MBB give you normal rate, you will regret . Second, MBB FPX system got problem. yesterday morning 8am , I was making eIFD via  FPX from Hong Leong Bank I have received an "unsuccessful" message. However, the money has been deducted from my Hong Leong bank account. I went to the MBB branch to check, the MBB information counter staff  and have not credited back  into my HLB account within 24 hours and asked me go home and wait. Until now it has been more then 24 hours but the fund have not credited back HBB account. Today is Saturday, tomorrow and Mon 25 May will be Hari Raya and Tue maybe replacement. MBB is so troublesome, I'm so worried my fund.

Thank you for sharing your experience.
For the record, I made my transaction at 7pm yesterday. It is admirable that you went to follow up immediately at the bank ( the queue is horrible, I was at the bank yesterday for another matter).
I have decided on the safe side to report via writing at the MBB website, while waiting for the banks to reopen after the holidays.
I do have the FPX email stating the transaction is successful, so I'm going use that for filing the report.

I got some helpful info from Paynet FAQ.

While making payment using FPX, I have received an error / unsuccessful message. However, the money has been deducted from my bank account. What should I do?
In the event that your account has been deducted but the transaction was unsuccessful for some reasons, your money will be credited back into your account by your Bank. You can contact your Bank for the reversal status by providing the FPX Transaction ID or Merchant Order No. as a reference. You may also provide the screen shot of your payment that displays the FPX Transaction ID or Merchant Order No.

The merchant claims it has not received my payment although the FPX transaction status is successful. What should I do?
FPX transaction status is final and the merchant is obligated to deliver the goods/services or to update your payment in a timely manner. In this case, you should contact the merchant for the delivery of your goods/services purchased. You can provide the necessary details such as the online receipt issued by FPX/merchant or the email notification received from FPX that contain the following details:

i. FPX Transaction ID
ii. Merchant Order No.
iii. Payment amount;
iv. Date and time of the payment.

Good response from MBB, but bad experience for this time. MBB eIFD system is no good ( didn't show promo rate, difficult to apply eIFD if FPX from other bank...). Next time if MBB if apply eFD for MBB still need to think twice.

Did you get any further with this ? MBB says I need to check with HLB first HLB say it will get back to me in 2-3 days 🤦 now I'm seriously pissed off at how long it will take to resolve this. A rather large sum of money is in nowhere-land and both banks doesn't seem to care !

MBB kicked the ball to HLB, then HLB kicked back the ball to MBB.

I'm working under Hong Leong Group also. What I experienced is the HLB security is good, they have maintenance their online banking too frequently, but their customer service is bad.

When I was facing such transaction problem. MBB always get me a help. Even Saturday, Public Holiday, I PM them through FB Messanger, MBB service center staff will call me back within few minute. They said tried to call HLB, if cannot settle, then get back to them.

(HLB Sat dan Public Holiday off service). When I called HLB on Mon, HLB operator said this is not their fault, since the transaction from HLB was successful. I should go back to MBB. HLB operator blame me why I used FPX, and not go to ATM transaction ??? They only can make the report for me on Wednesday for investigation (after 3 days working day). What a poor service attitude.

Luckily, just now after work, I get FPX refund back my HLB account. Now, whose fault is it?

I got the same response from MBB. I also called HLB on Monday, he say he can't do anything, call back Wed, didn't even ask for my information.
Use ATM instead of FPX ? That's Lol.
You gave me some hope to get it back this week. I will be checking my account like mad.

PB FD are auto renew. Tak baca terms and conditions is normal. ( not attacking you ya) .

They cant deposit Your FD Principal and Interest back to you CASA because it is different account (FD got account number ) . Bank cannot messed up your account without your action. Yes you told them but when it's mature, you need to do the transaction as per date, not bank.

change branch for FD withdrawal can.
*
Just wanted to point out that you can choose to deposit interest to CASA (which is why the you may have miscommunicated with the bank officer). The principal will remain and auto renew at board rate.

when moving money from bank to bank you guys will use cash cheque ? how does it works exactly ?

you go to the bank counter and ask for a cheque of RM1xx,xxx ? at that time do they need to know who is the receiving bank account or who is the receiving person ?
*
Ask the bank to issue a banker's cheque with the amount from your saving account. It only needs your name on the cheque. But if you put other's name, it is best to add the IC, and for business, add the account name, as additional safeguard. This is my favourite method as I can bring to other banks to nego OTC rate. Banker''s cheque is immediately accepted as it is equivalent to cash issued by your bank. Here is a link for reference.

HLB seems desperate. No, I didn't get the 4.5% invitation, but surprisingly when I log on my account using normal browser (not app), there is a promo in my SA account, deposit 150k/200k for 4 months and get a Dyson hairdryer/vacuum.

I realized the Sabah MBSB case was occured because the bank trusts their managers/staffs too much, any staff from any bank in Malaysia can repeat the same thing if they wanted to. The managers/staffs involved in the MBSB case had zero computer knowledge, yet all they had to do was to pull up their courages and literally just transfer the funds to their own accounts. What nonsense was that, they literally thought they could get away with that? If you see the photos where police tangkap all the suspects involved in the MBSB case, all of them were aunties uncles, chinese and indians, one only malay involved.

Im not sure why the banking system in Malaysia is so outdated, if you tried to pull the same scam in the United States, India or whereever else, you got to have a strong skillset hackers behind you to be able to do so, instead in malaysia, you just have to be the manager/staff and literally transfer the funds to your own account. Pathetic.

As I recall, we are required to verify thumbprint for every transaction at the bank counter, or is this just for show ? Any attempts to bypass this authorisation requires some kind of IT knowledge. It could be they are just scapegoats behind the mastermind. Just my speculation.

I recall this fraud case too that happened a couple of years ago, though for this one, the fraud seems to be with the RM. I remember I had to sign a extra form to give the rights to transact through RM for premier banking. I have never use this service and now I wish I never sign it.

I always use mbb fpx efd, when there is promo rate of course, and only once I had transaction hang, and the money was back to my acc in 2 days.
I intend to place a couple mbb efd next month, assuming it doesn't run out. Will report back if there is issue.

Got a call by someone claiming to be my new CIMB RM (later WA the business card). He said can offer 4.3% to retain my maturing FD. Amount, date and branch location is correct. But 4.3% is too good to be true as the amount is not even big, likely not pure FD.
*
They can quote as high as they want if not pure FD.

hi Sifus, quick question. If FD in PBB falls on a Saturday, will they pay the interest for Sunday n Monday when I withdraw on Monday?
*
If the maturity falls on non-working days, they will pay interest, because it is not possible for customer to withdraw the FD (OTC type).
In this case, you should get 2 extra days interest.

No, I placed more than 10 during the recent campaign period. This is the first time it's been a blank page for me. I helped my Dad place 1 just 10 minutes before mine and no issue.

It's been nearly 12 hours and no signs of my money and no reply from MBB to my written complaint.
*
I had a fail placement last Sat, and money was reverted to original bank on Mon afternoon. No need do anything.
I have placed multiple times with MBB and this is the 2nd time this happened, so I didn't freak out like the first time.

yes, apparently I did it once
i issue the CHQ n pass it to the bank on friday, from a diff bank (fresh funds)
without the chq clearing, the FD amount already shown in the app

Banker cheque is as good as cash. It should be accepted immediately. For large amount I always use bank cheque. I also use to pay car deposit large amount, when the dealer see a bank cheque, they issue resit immediately.

We are not interested if it is not pure FD.
This is likely nsurance product, the catch word is past performance.
Pbb FD promo rates are on the website and updated last week and this week.
I'm frequent customer of Pbb, and they will always try to upsell insurance when you ask about FD rates.
