for the same kind of FD , they wont.

you are talking about a different kind of FD, the promo kind.

oh btw, if your mum knows how much money is that she would put herself on a silver plate and deliver herself to me.

Be civil. Your own ignorance and you came here with a question. If you can't take criticism and advice then go do your own research. He might be sarcastic but your first post has me going wtf too.

My uncles who don't use smartphones also know how to call nearest bank branches to ask for rates. Ignorance is not a defence for stupidity.

Ps. This is not a manhood size competition, take your ill mannered arrogance elsewhere.

your confusing rights and obligation. sir.

No one is obligated to be polite to you. I tried but you don't deserve it. Go elsewhere to look for mums on silver platters. Your uncivilised tongue disgusts us.

"it's a different fd" what a joke man.

err you dont get it

Everyone has the right to be rude, but not the obligation. Just like options.  smile.gif  Most people dont because they want to play nice with others.
That reference actually wasnt an insult. I mean, its not even a foul word with derogatory connotation. You can read through my post, i didnt use a single foul word.  smile.gif

You don't need to speak "foul words" for us to know what type of person you are.

Yep. 12 mths promo rates is always higher than 5 years board rates. Seriously, utter nonsense.

Mod please clean up thread. Those who want to fight please start thread in Kopitiam.

Apologise for losing my cool and descending to word fights. Just can't stand uncivilised people who think they are rich and therefore entitled.

whatever app u use, u need an internet connection.

what i read n understand so far...

.. proprietory bank apps are definitely more secure than normal websites.
.. mobile phone apps are most secure if u use wifi at yr own home as the router has encryption giving a second layer of protection.
.. mobile phone apps using telco line when outside may not be so secure as hackers have known to have hacked them too.
.. mobile phone apps least secure if used with public wifi, hotspots.
.. desktops are secure if using home connect, own router.

pls correct me if u have latest findings...

How about the old fashioned tokens that sg banks use?

4.484% is the rate you get if you assume that you invest for 1 year at the rates for the 3 month period. This may or may not be true as the product is for 3 months. Why calculate an annual rate if the rate is based on uncertainty? So I would not rely on an annualised rate in this case
*
Every single fd whether 1 or 60 mth is advertised based on an annual %...

Yesterday received a call from OCBC. They have a very interesting promotion (if it can be called that).

FREE credit card, no income documents needed. All you need to do is place FD minimum of RM 3,500 for 12 months. Their FD rate is 3%. The Credit Limit of the Card will mirror your FD placement. So if you place 100k, you get 100k credit limit.

It's interesting for those who are retired/unable or unwilling to furnish income documentation proof (perhaps hawkers/traders) and need a credit card but for the others who are not in this category, it's a hard pass.
*
Boss, has been the standard way for long time to get a credit card if you have no income docs. FD:Credit Limit, 1:1. If you are in premier banking then they will give you better terms, my parents rhb card has limit thrice of her pledged fd.

6m is good. by may, all shud be stable, can decide if longer periods then.
if it makes sense... u may want to uplift this 3.70%, place again at 3.75%! biggrin.gif

i gave up 1 month of previous 3.05%, go for this 3.75% 6m - better overall for next 5 months.

these changes r only possible with online transactions... if OTC, tak pakai... too much work, travel, waiting, petrol, parking...
*
I did that 😆

Is there no penalty for uplifting early for eFD?

Do we only forgo the interest if we uplift early?
*
Yes. My 3.7s were just a day old anyway.

Believe its the same for all FD that the principal is always safe? Although I heard horror stories of being charged for misplacing fd cert: otc for old school banks.

Continuing with the MBB saga I spoke to their customer service dept again today and they said it is not their fault but lies with the FPX system and i should monitor for a credit back to my bank account. IMHO I fail to agree as FPX seems to fail only with MBB promos
*
Agreed. Never had any issue using fpx until mbb. 24 hours now for me, not appearing either m2u or original bank account. Gone with the wind~

I am quite shocked Maybank is like this to be honest. Always though they were the gold-standard for Malaysian banking.

I also have Affin Bank account. Any feedback about their latest promo? 4 mths @ 3.85%.
*
Yup same, it'll take a substantially higher than others promotion to make me try MBB efd again. The whole point of efd is to be convenient 😂. Now I'm nervous about my foreign currencies in there too.
