Bank Islam FD matured today and app show renewal at 4.1% for 12 mth. Went to update at branch was told system not updated, should be 2+ only. WTF, you're a bank la, not grocery store, not updated also can ah? Many stupid rules here too

It's above above 1m and not about renewal. No, didn't ask for special rate. Really useless staff, had to wait another half hour just to pick up cert. Sign this, sign that, both me and wife, who was waiting in car.

For the AmBank FD/True Saver combo, yesterday my 2 True Savers accounts received the bonus interest, earlier received on 4th Jan.

Not sure how the bonus interest was given by AmBank (in terms of the day given out), so now going to be consistent after several complaints ?

Anyway, this has increased the effective FD rate which is why we placed FD into this promo.

You put fd 6 mths 10k at 7.15%

You must also put bsa 6 mths 10k at 0.25%

Overall effective rate 3.70%

I went to MBSB Jln Sultan Ismail Branch 2 days ago. They told me their branch extend their 4% FD promo until end of August.
I didn't ask about other branch.

Just checked with my branch. Said promo valid for whole month of August. Could be branch specific.

For those who has AMBANK FD bundle with true saver account placed last year, can u check how much interest you get on 31 July? I received much lower and upon checking with bank, they have changed the rate from 0.75% to 0.15% wef 1 July 2024.

Are you all aware? How much you all got? If still 0.75% then I need to call them to get back the difference.

Since we have bundle with FD for 1 year, the change of rate actually will affect us? I am wondering. The Fd is not matured yet.

Just to share something about MBSB. My first combo FD with cash lock in matured yesterday. (5.72% / 0.05%)

The FD principal+interests was credited into my account YESTERDAY, which is correct. But the locked CASA part is only seen as total in "Current Balance". It was not released to the "Available Balance" yesterday. Today, i checked again and the locked portion has been released to the "Available" balance, but there is no transaction history. I find this a bit unclear and hard to keep track. There is nowhere in the system i can see the individual locked CASA for the specific FD. Does other bank do it this way?

Guess this is why i always prefer straight FDs. No effective rates BS and play locked balance game.

Yes the base interest revised down from 0.75% to 0.15%
30.6.24 i got RM61.34
after revised down  on 31.7.24 =RM12.71 ok fine.

But the revised Bonus rate for deposit 3k seems ?? increased to 1.3% and
3 transaction bonus also ??increased to 0.8%
= Total 2.1%

I remember previous rate was 1.15% and 0.6% =1.75%

But Bonus interest received remain same like before....

Hmm...i have just uplift my matured FD from BI back into my savings account Al-Awfwar something.

But when i try to do DUITNOW, there is a 50 cents charge? Even IBG has 10 cents charge? WTF?? Is this new rule with Bank islam?

UPDATE:
Never mind. Found the answer. Apparently >RM5K, Bank can charge you for transfer. So far i haven't encounter with other banks. So i just made multiple 5k transactions.
