I opted for 4.55% when I was at Affin last week. RM195k FD and RM5k CASA. I am fairly certain they do not have compounding interest, even if they agree to add it back to your FD.

Damn HLB, just placed 6mths 4.28% last Thursday and now 4.38% 12 mths. Bugger ..  waiting for my MBB FD to mature on 2nd day CNY and decide whether to go HLB or walk in to Affin again.

Is it this particular Islamic offer only that don’t allow compounding interest or all?
Thanks for the info. No wonder my previous 15 months FD - non Islamic, they also credited the interest back to my account. All these while I thought they just made a mistake.

Top 7 FD Promo - Updated 2nd May 2019

Above 12mths
(1) Bank Islam 4.65% for 24 months, interest paid every 3 months
(2) Affin 4.40% for 13 months and above, interest paid every 6 months. This is board rate
(3) Bank Rayat 4.25% for 24 months. This is board rate
(3) OCBC 4.10% for 12 mths
(4) Bank Rayat 4.10% for 12 mths. This is board rate.

Thanks for the info.
I went to Affin yesterday, there's only a 15 mths FD at 4.4% with interest paid out every 6 months.
They say the interest can be added on and compounded - I was kind skeptical cause last time I took one 18 month FD which paid out interest every 6 months and they deposited it into my account instead of adding it back in. I hope they will add-on this time around.

I find Affin is the best bank for FD as their board rates are higher than most banks' promo rates. No need to keep changing banks every year.
*
Last time yes but now affin like not interested in accepting FDs
I just put today, only got 2.75% for one month and interest must cash out, cannot reinvest.

Need to get some feedback on d experience with affin bank FD, today went to the bank to withdraw d FD placed on 8 May 2019 for a 12 mths tenure, maturity date stated in the cert is 8  May 2020 (today). D officer told me interest will only credited on midnight 9 May. it's considered premature withdrawal if I proceed for withdrawal.

Got such practice one ah?
*
That's strange. If it's 8th matured means 8th can take out already with the interest. Yes affin bank

Since the T&C is nowhere available in the website, I'm not sure about the requirement of fresh fund.
Maybe you can try to transfer out and transfer in if it works.
If it does work, then need FF.
*
haha I found out the hard way. had to call them and found out that the max for each placement is 10k
but you can place a total of 50k per day. in another words you need to place multiple 10k up to 50k per day
not sure the next day can place another 50k or not....

i dunno why they made it so complicated. maybe to give other people chance

At affin bank now. Got issue with affinsecure which is required for transaction of 10k or more online. The min amount required for the 6m 2.88% promotion is 10k. Tried to do the fd online last night but failed due to the affinsecure thing (stupid requirement in this case as it’s from own saving to own fd). Found out that the promotion can be done otc as well. For those who wish to do it online, the three boxes at the bottom can only be ticked after clicking on the respective links for the documents.

For a couple of weeks I couldn't place eFD
Finally today I found out it's my AffinSecure- I had been keying in the wrong pin so it locked me out. All I had to do was de register it and register again. The problem is it doesn't tell you that you had key in the wrong pin. It just says "unsuccessful" 🤦🏻‍♂️

Did you mean max or min cause max per placement is 10k. If min also 10k it means every placement must be exactly 10k? OTC max is how much?

It's not easy to remember AffinSecure PIN as it needs at least an alphabet I believe.
With that requirement, it's much easier to forget also!  laugh.gif
*
Exactly. I thought mine is a six digit number so I kept keying in those numbers. When I register again today it says must have 1 number and 1 alphabet 🤦🏻‍♂️
Then I only I realized I was keying it wrong all along

For efd I’m sure the min is rm10k as it failed with rm9999 😆. I’m not sure about the max for efd as it disallowed me to continue without affinsecure. I placed more than rm100k otc today.
*
Hmmm...that's a weird requirement. So it means must be exactly 10k. I tried 40k one shot - it says over the allowed limit.

Is Affin 5months 2.5% promo available over the counter? I went to 2 branches today, one said yes, the other said eFD only. eFD is convenient but leceh as min/max is 10k.
