I sure hope so.  biggrin.gif

But UOB taking one step back, used to be RM0.15, changed to RM0.68 (cheque and GST). Then I found out recently it is RM2.80.  doh.gif I am their PB customer, so this seems to apply to ALL customers.  dry.gif

Uob no charge for IBG.

As usual Cimb staff does not know his own products. The counter doesnt know eFD is 4.15%. Asked me check with PIC Faridah. Checked with her. She dont know and asked me write to the bank.
Anybody try eFD and get 4.15%? I tried eFD only get 3.1% board rate.

Did the staff tell you this? I think you have been misinformed.
I can confirm there is no annual fee for the debit card for CIMB BSA (without annual fee). I have not been charged a single sen for that, it's been a few years already. I have also heard Ambank staff telling customer that they need to pay for the passbook for BSA (without annual fee) even though the ATM card is free. That is bullshit again, everything is free (passbook & ATM card) as there is no annual fee whatsoever for that account.
*
Am bank
For Am bank, they always charged me rm8 for the card and passbook. Will check with them next time.

cimb
I think i read somewhere, BNM wants all banks provide basic saving account without fee. Two days ago, went to Cimb opened BSA, the counter girl said rm250 for saving account. I said i need only BSA without fee. She then only opened BSA without fee and grumbling this BSA only allowed 8 withdrawals per month, no extra features....I just ignored her.
When i logged in cimb click, it stated my account is BSA without fee.
I will try to test does it has the debit card feature....by right it shouldnt has.

Uob
My FD was matured and wanted to IBG to other bank. The counter staff said IBG fee is rm1.06. I told her it was free two days ago. She checked and agreed it is free.

All these bank staffs will charge whenever they like if the customers are not aware about the rates.

Am Bank offers 2 types of Basic Savings Accounts: Fee and Non-Fee.
Non-fee is the free BSA.

https://www.ambank.com.my/ambank/SitePages/...gs-account.aspx

I just opened a free BSA at Am Bank a couple of months ago. Their CS knows their products very well. She gave me the Savings Accounts brochure and explained all the different types of Savings Accounts Am Bank has to offer.

Btw, you can check your account type when you logged into your account at amonline.com.my. You can see your savings account type, if it's a free BSA, it's shown as "SA Basic Non Fee."
*
Logged in and found i have two saving accounts.
One is SA basic fee, balance 0 and the other SA basic non fee. I am surprise i have two. The non fee has a passbook. I have Am FD with interest credited into my SA. But I do not need two SA. Will go to Am bank to check which one is for crediting interest and close one of them.

I escaped from getting the Preferred CA but still able to get the 4.2% rate.  rclxms.gif

Minimum balance is 1k for the CA, not too clear on the benefits but have seen it listed in the CIMB website.  biggrin.gif

I got 4.2% last week without opening the preferred CA. But yesterday bank said i need to open the CA to enjoy 4.2% for new placement....may be i try my luck in other branch

Thank you, Starry, Darren and then all of you provide the info and etc..

Maybe like you wrote, the staff don't know can like that, but this time willing ask and check.
Old still can't back to me but finally can BSA and BC no delay 2 days. My feeling picky only, but overall ok.

Left MaXbank don't know, before the banker told delay 2 - 3 days is for wait check clear not because holiday, no interest paid of this, so self give up.
UOX BC is RM 2.80
BSX no BC.
Print the total principle and final interest on the slip? I think only UOX. Well done.
Partial withdraw? I think only UOX can, but look like CIXX wish follow the UOX way. Well done.

Thank you all of you provide the info, not only now but always, very useful, if not all of you maybe can't.
Now plus inflation very high, so if you go FD, maybe know why want defend like that. Whatever defend still like that, but thank you all of you so much.

Hey brother, can write dwn the bank name, no need used XXX...so much easier to read and understand, tq

Damn it, just placed cimb fd but in conventional, i think only islamic fd gets monthly interest (profit)

If within a day, some branches may allow to change it.
If it does not make a lot of differences, just stay put.

For those interested in CIMB FD.

1) 4.2% for 12 months for preferred customer. Need to open CA to entitle to this rate effective this week.
CIMB didnt enforce this condition when I made placement last week. The CA condition actually was written on the white board in the bank.

2) To get monthly interest, need to make FD placement in Islamic accounts.

3) non preferred customer, if amount more than rm100k, may still get 4.15% for 12 months but that needs HQ approval.

4) monthly interest can be credited into basic saving. Remember open only BSA without fee. Minimum placement is RM20. Will be issued ATM card on the spot. Can withdraw up to 8x every month. Can perform internet banking.

Have calculated that taking out recent CIMB 4.2% FD and placing them into Bank Muamalat 4.5% is still worth it despite the loss in interest of around say 7 days or so. Did not calculate too far beyond.

Anyway decided against it as part of diversification. Plan to put in end of May instead of terminating CIMB current FD. Have to check out Muamalat's branch and service and see.  biggrin.gif
*
It is 4.5% for 12 monrhs. For personal cheque need to wait for cheque clearance.
Just made a placement today

Cimb 4.2%, difference of 0.3%. For 100k min placement, the difference is rm300 which is quite significant
