eFD if not possible with BR.
I checked their FB from time to time where they announce the branch closure. There will be a branch or two that is affected each week  sweat.gif My branch finally got it early this month.
*
Initially I thought the closure announced in Facebook was maybe due to EMCO in the area or reduce staff movement but very unfortunately, I was wrong.

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Sep 15 2021, 11:46 AM)
This BR branch did not call until >1 mth later. Another branch has eagerly asked customer to collect FD cert, renewed thru' WhatsApp and email instructions.

Unluckily, this later period more Covid cases happened !

Anyway better to stay safe. Recently have just been renewing my HL TIAi to 6 mths 2.45% instead of moving to some slightly higher returns. Not much gain but with risks involved.
*
I can imagine what Penang is going thru now is similar to what Klang Valley experienced 1 or 2 months ago.

I also initially did not want to open an account in Bank Muamalat but since the 18 months promo is until 31 Dec & option for monthly interest, had to bite the bitter bullet.

Any readers who are CIMB customers able to help on how to get online link to a webpage showing CIMB promo info for TIA INVESTMENT (NOT FD). I would also like to know how to get such black and white info in order to avoid visiting CIMB branch or talking on the phone.

The original post on this CIMB offer mentioned that it was informed by WhatsAp message and does not indicate any link or pix.

Formerly before Covid times, I usually find that CIMB practices  UFN (Until Further Notice) way and changes  FD promo rates at any time they like or weekly.
For normal board investment TIA or higher promo investment TIA, it is rather questionable about the end date of the offer even if mentioned, as offered TIA indicative profit rate is subject to change based on profit fluctuation before placement.

If already have CIMBClicks, then can simply try to dummy place for the TIA investment to check the rate if possible. If new to CIMB, maybe have to phone or visit to ask, and hope the answerer is knowledgeable about the latest offer and situation. Otherwise ask readers here when they placed and what rate they got and hope you will still get the same after them.
*
QUOTE(eujin @ Sep 27 2021, 12:52 PM)
where can I find this? Is there a online link?
*
Unfortunately, this has to be placed & uplift OTC.
Usually TIA rates are higher than conventional FD rates so is not really a promo rate. However, do be warned that the rate can go down if the OPR goes down before your TIA matures.

Not just OTC, eFD can also enjoy this rate.
*
Yes correct, is best just to go to the bank to open account as well as online banking, then it would be a whole lot convenient after that.
The ironic part is if you open the FD promo OTC, you cannot opt for the monthly interest payment but is possible for online placement

QUOTE(Deal Hunter @ Sep 28 2021, 04:29 PM)
Any one placed for the Bank Muamalat eFD recently? Is it still alive till offer end date 31 Dec 2021 or target reached? Still scraping up more money sinceĀ  2 weeks ago for next placement at 2.8 % or 2.6 %.
*
You're in luck, I just tried today online & still available.

But online transferring from RHB was a big nightmare!!! Where got any online banking apps that says if you want to transfer more than 10k you need to keep the old version? For me, I just installed the RHB Now banking apps so how is it possible to keep the old version?!?!

Thanks for your detail explanation!  Yeah, I am doing something like that to counter the RM30k limit of most banks. Public Bank even worse, only max 20k for FPX transfer. Although nothing beats RHB RM 9,999.99. doh.gif
*
The other day I transferred out of RHB in multiples of RM 9999 and I think they recently increased the limit to RM50k. One thing good though, it maintains separate limit for DuitNow Instant Transfer and IBG making it possible to transfer a total of RM100k of FD funds.

You transfer FPX? 9999.99? Very leceh how to make FDs like that. But Fyi, you can use their mobile app can Duit Now instant transfer up to 50k per transaction or more. I have only tried 50k so far, not sure what is upper limit. But must be done from mobile app.
*
I did not FPX, only did DuitNow instant transfer of 9999. I kept getting errors when trying to transfer RM50k using either mobile apps & internet banking so I gave up on that.

Hmm, did u setup the secure device thingy? If u use mobile app, when you confirm.to transfer > 10k, then the screen will pop up for ubto approve. I use Duit Now to transfer to other banks and FPX from there, done a number of times already.
*
Ya, the secure thingy was setup successfully but when comes to the transfer of more than 10k in the apps, it does not prompt me to authorize at all.

QUOTE(John Chaser @ Nov 2 2021, 12:48 AM)
This wouldn't count as FD, right?
https://soyacincau.com/2021/11/01/touch-n-g...vestment-promo/

Because the 4% can fluctuate to say...1.45% during the year?
*
4% pa. is the bonus fixed rate which is on top of the 1.XX% pa. which is the standard fluctuating rate which is still given..
For the past 2 days, lowest was 1.47% pa.
Maximum the Go+ account can go I think is only RM 9500, so perhaps consider it as a 3 months FD with returns of minimum 5% pa. interest?
On top of that, can earn credit card points too for reloading the e-wallet

Maybe is like a high yielding savings account as you can spend the money anytime without loosing all or partial interest.

BR system down. What a disappointment. Unable to withdraw fd.

Update, up now, hopefully stay that way, has to go to another branch. Somehow fd "crash" ended up same day, 2 branches fd matured.
*
Good move, yesterday I checked with BR HQ, seems like no intention to come out with a more attractive promo yet. Hopefully they will change their mind later this year.

Finally after so many years with BR, I was invited to their Hari Raya Open House yesterday. thumbup.gif

AmBank 12 mth 3.2% is for sure.

Yesterday just fwd the CIMB rate from my RM, which stated effective yesterday. Looks like 18 mth 3.2% is new, not in what u received ?????

Your RM did not send u the FD update yesterday ? My RM did not send me FD update last week. He seems to be more busy in selling Klibor, retail bonds, structured products than FD, hahaha. He got more commissions from there.........
*
I did not get the 18 mth 3.2% or maybe because i was asking more of 6 mth or 12 mths at the counter.

My RM is also busy with a whole lot of products too, initially said promo rates not out somemore. He will only send me the rates if i ask so not sure about the previous week/s.

Ambank became very strict this time, the promo rates are for fresh fund via cash / bankers cheque, could not even nego for transfer in so i only opt for 3.58% p.a. 12 mths 30 CASA:70 FD

With all the long rantings, I almost overlooked the Am Bank 3.2% p.a. 12 months promo which started today.

Upon careful consideration, I decided to terminate the 70:30 Am Bank 3.53% p.a. 12 months promo & placed for the former, no issues at all.

But just calculated 3.20% p.a. 12 months is still higher and is more convenient to place & redeem online.

I've placed FD with Ambank this morning. Few hours later, I received a weird Whatsapp msg asking me whether Im interested in looking for a part time job. After lunch, I received call from oversea number, of course i didnt answer.

Do any of u encounter such issues after placing FD & etc?
*
Your case might be just coincidental.
Mine, not so. Last week, I just detected myself that my Ambank credit card had 2 unauthorized transactions in Holland.
Have since terminated the card & reported it.

Just now went to place the 70 FD:30 CASA 4.1% pa. 6 months AM Bank promo for priority banking customers.

However, I have been given a hint that AM Bank might launch a eFD promo tomorrow or anytime soon but without any details of the promo, so will need to look out for it.
