Hi all,

Want to know which oil should I use . Smei or fully ?

What is the different .

Thanks
*
Based on the Ertiga Service Book, Semi is actually enough. Means even using semi it can last untill 10k.
Some may opt to fully maybe because fully has better additives compared to semi. But for cheapskates like me, free service is enough i guess laugh.gif

After few yrs bringing in Ertiga to malaysia, the only update is a touchscreen head unit, and costs extra 3k ??

Proton oh proton...

It's only a rebadge car under Suzuki. Plus since now they are under Geely. Nothing much they can do unless Suzuki and Geely made an agreement

Yeah.. I just wished that they brought in the new Ertiga. But given now Proton under Geely, its very unlikely there will be another rebadge from another company sad.gif because I hl think ertiga is quite good compared to its competitor (alza/Avanza).

Hi. New Ertiga owner here.

Question about FC.

1. How is your Ertiga FC? Full tank city drive can reach how many KM?
(Mine is unstable, best is 430km full tank, worse is 250km full tank, I am a light footer)

2. Do you drive with overdrive on or off? Which one is the right way for better FC?
(I asked the Proton mechanic, they ask me to drive with overdrive off for better FC, which is different from what I see online, confused)

Thanks.

I also got the Ertiga not too long ago. 250km per full tank is way too low for your driving pattern. My 100% city drive will give me 430-450km per full tank. I don’t consider myself to be a light footer due to the road I travel everyday consists of many hill roads with lots of ups and downs. My rev range usually is around 2k to 4K max. Anything beyond 4K rpm is just making your engine roar with no significant push to your car.

However my full highway drive from KL to Penang will give me very good FC at around 580-600km per full tank with speed limit obeyed all the time up to 110km/h max. It is living up to claimed 6L/100km by Proton.

My only problem is the slight vibration from the engine/transmission when revving at around 1.5k rpm using 2nd gear. Gonna send to sc maybe after cny to find out what’s wrong.

For both of you guys, what is the average km/l that you guys get? Im wondering whats the normal range for ertiga in city driving

Do you think the extra safety features worth the extra 16k?
I'm considering between these two cars.
Headaches
*
Test drive both and see which suits you more in terms of comfort and space. Plus Aruz is more towards SUV whereas ertiga is towards MPV. So it depends on your needs.

If all you seek is safety then maybe Aruz is for you cause it achieved 5 star rating.

Hi guys, i was wondering if any of the owner here have squeaky brake pedal? Not the brake pad(outside) but inside the car(the brake pedal itself). It sort of squeak when i press it especially when pressed slowly(like in traffic jam). The sound like when open door with squeaky hinges/noise. I tried to spray with grease but nothing worked.

If anyone encountered it and managed to fixed it, please let me know as the squeaky sound is quite annoying.

This one no need ask SC... SC tried all sort of stuff, still noisy.
Then I went MR DIY to buy Silicone Spray (White bottle), Spray on the pedal rods and the sound is gone. However bear in mind it will come back after a few months, then need to respray.
*
The whole brake pedal rod is it? Or behind the brake pedal?

went to COSE shah alam.

Day 1 - send my car to service center and inform service advisor the issue, and leave car there. Received call from service advisor saying they cant test the issue i mentioned (i wonder why they cant get technician to test with me before i leave car there!!), want me go back to test for them.

Day 2 - go to SC and test for them.

Day 5 - collect car but found that issue is not fixed, inform service advisor, make appointment on the spot.

Day n - send my car to SC

Day n - received call saying they cant rectify the issue, they will arrange mechanic from suzuki to fix the issue

Day n - received call saying can collect car, parts has been ordered.

Day n - never receive any call from SC

Day n - after 1 and half month i call SC, they said parts arrived

Day n - made appointment with them, 19th Aug to install parts.

Day n - to be continued...

steering shaft defect, working well now.

i just checked parts price from Indonesia suzuki website, parts itself cost more than RM2k!

You can refer to my service advisors was Sufna and Zafri. Good luck!!
*
Nice.. Since the part has been replaced.. i wonder will the problem resurfaced again? Hope the new parts are much more better than the old one..
I think this might be a common problem for ertiga in Malaysia because they did made a recall back then..

You not going to fix yours? Don't think they will do recall back.

I think i plan to go back to COSE sometime again to verify the issue.. Thing is the parts can take really long to arrive right?
Other Ertiga owners i think also need to report this before warranty expires..

Anyone have tried using 0w20 engine oil instead of 5w30? Any improvement or comment on that? because manual says 0w20 is the preferred oil compared to 5w30.

U didn't service at SC?
How to choose oil at SC then.. All must follow them
*
I serviced my car at SC but just wondering maybe if any1 tried 0w20 instead of 5w30.
And you know Which SC allow use of other oil?
Next service I'm gonna try ask SC to use other oil. Too bad proton SC fully synthetic are mostly 5w30. If they use Petronas 0w20, I would love to switch to it.

QUOTE(RagingBalls @ Nov 9 2019, 03:20 PM)
Thanks for the input.

My main use would be city driving and would not be carrying much loads in terms of use of boot space unless its something out of the ordinary for us.
Saga also would be my consideration but was a little concerned on cabin space and comfort level inside compared with ER3.
Slightly leaning towards the ER3 though but my other concern is if the model would be continued. Even the new face-lifted ER3 model of 2018 is not available here compared to Indonesia. They got the latest model while ours just from the 2016 model. With Proton toed with Geely, not so sure if getting the ER3 would be risky in the long run.

I could be wrong though. These are just my fears.
*
Ertiga will definitely be better in terms of comfort and space compared to saga. The third row you can fold down for even more space(act as a boot) as well as more legroom on the 2nd row. The parts MIGHT be an issue in a few years time(8-10) but for now still ok because can order from proton and are interchangeable from suzuki swift.

Ertiga no more in production.
Suzuki has stop supplying kits needed to assemble whole units of Ertiga's to Proton.
However if not mistaken, Suzuki is still supplying the parts needed to continue servicing Ertiga's and other Suzuki models.
*
Yea no more production here but parts still available from Proton because last month i just changed some parts from proton original from suzuki. Tho the parts take quite some time to reach sweat.gif
