like other said, it is meant to confirm that the service is indeed installed/activated and the owner will want to keep the service. Never ask why, but it should be a kind of security measure by TM. It must be done within 7 days after service is activated.

In fact, if applying via agent, they cannot ask for photocopy of ic but instead the agent will need to bring a machine to read the owner's ic for verification purpose instead. Another security measure by TM.

So it seems like TM had imposed a lot of new security measure for services applied via agent or other third party dealer. Maybe previously there are many dispute cases.

but best no matter how it is to apply via online. Safest plus one mth subscription. It is super time consuming process for online application, one week time before they call to confirm the application after submitted application online. Probably another one week minimum for installer to arrange an appointment. But TM online had done a good job to terminate the streamyx (for users who upgrade) immediately after the unifi is activated. Rather hassle free. And online application does not need the rm100 thingy.

if you want apply unifi under your name, your sister need to cancel the streamyx...

off course can... if not high rise la with copper line.... but if on same family, why need another internet line? except if want as a backup...

for a recently installed and activated unifi 30Mbps, possible to upgrade to 50Mbps plan now so that it can be qualified for next year 100 Mbps free upgrade?

if yes, maybe i should really consider for this. extra rm50 for 2x more download speed and 2.5 more upload speed is really a good deal. 

New installation and activated for this new 30Mbps on 6 dec 2016 only.

How about the free upgrade from 10 to 30 mbps ? Will we still can the free upgrade in 2017?

For people who still wondering whether Unifi users who subscribed before Dec 2016 are eligilbled for the upgrade or not, or still assuming that the free upgrade is only for the users who subscribed In Dec 2016....etc.

With all due respect, this is totally not worth to be worried about. If the free upgrade is only limited to newest subscribers, the existing users sure will go chaos and I am sure all hell will break loose in no time. Do you think TM will go for such a stupid move?

And ya. I am sure some of you would say their T&C and FAQ doesn't mention anything about the existing customers. There's no source and news indicating that the existing users will get the free upgrade. Please la people. They did not mention it doesn't mean they will ignore the existing customers. Most likely, the T&C and FAQ will be changed once again after the Dec promotion.

I requested to upgrade my Unifi plan from 30Mbps to 50Mbps and the TM staff said it'll take around one week for the process to complete. Is this true? Why does it take such a long time to process? I thought maximum it will take 48 hrs only. 

Mine upgrade 30 minutes from 20 to 50. I go tmpoint come back straight away i get 50.

NOt really free. Free to view all package but will be charged the package you chose ie Ruby Pack RM30.

U guys got the free upgrade email or sms or call yet? Me unifi customer from their first day until now they no give me any email sms or call me about the speed upgrade.

My package is RM179. Billing break into Broadband RM169 - discount RM20 + Ruby Pack RM30 = RM179. Registered only will only get one month RM169 free. Ruby Pack RM30 still charge accordingly since day one installed.

Mine is showing 199-20.. then add 30 for hypptv. So total 199 exclusive gst.

RM60 is quite pricey, considering there are hardly any good channels to watch anyways.
