any1 know how to swipe with spay when the terminal doest suport paywave ?
*
make sure the seller already key in the amount and ready to accept the "swipe". Then authenticate your spay (you will know if you feel a vibration on it) then tap the back of your phone to the left side of the terminal. Google/Youtube online to get some more detailed instructions...

Thanks bro, means that spay can work on almost all card terminal ?
*
yeap pretty much, but the concern is whether the seller is willing to accept it..its still very new technology and most are not very receptive about it...but word of caution - some terminals just cant work for some reason (the swipe mechanism wasnt properly configured)

If I were to use the phone, I'd rather str8 goto Sammy SC to buy the Protection Plus package. Over there, they can get the 1-year warranty register on-the-spot...

Good idea! Do you or anyone know which SC selling this package cheaper than the RM 248 RRP?

sorry for confusing,

my very first samsung pay transaction is with a restaurant, using mst, around nov-dec last year ( still in beta testing, not yet official launch) as their terminal is very old model, no paywave from public bank

i was saying, my first mst transaction attempt at mcdonald, when their terminal accept both pay wave and mst.

i would not call it failed because paywave intercept and process the signal first, my second attempt, i pull some distance, still using mst, it works fine, same location....

also, if you encounter error, remember to log the time, model and merchant name, report to samsung pay, so they can follow up and check with the bank or merchant.

i am actually reverse, i encounter more card read error if i use paywave, need few more attempt.

only with terminal that dont have special stand alone paywave reader, because i cannot grasp the exact location to beam.

just curious, what kind of error message did you get when it failed??

i don't believe it is not supported, more to bank block or disallow this kind of transaction or they did not set the terminal properly??

in singapore, they actually block my mst at mcdonald, only paywave goes through.

i think you guys are not using paywave right. i NEVER ever get paywave wrong for common merchants like mcdonalds, guardian, giant, etc.

The best way is to hold the phone in landscape orientation and tap it on the paywave machine at the top portion where it shows the amount. confirm will go through unless the staff did NOT key in the amount. The rule is to key in the amount first, then when the panel is ready then you can tap away.

MST is much more challenging for me because i noticed most shops their MST is not configured - they tend to prefer physical card slot in, so the magnetic part wasnt configured or calibrated, causing errors.

Yea not  every shop is samsung pay ready. Went to old town told me minimum is rm30 only can use. Samsung pay shops even rm1 can use.

Certain machine will ask for ccv some don't some will ask you to sign.

I was at Mr. Diy when I wanna pay with my phone the cashier look at me like I am hacker or thief. When she ask me for my card I said i wanna use my phone using Samsung pay . The two cashier keep say no no cannot. Keep say cannot use I even said let me try. So I just leave items worth rm300 on table and told them I don't have cash and left. They are " u know i know " lazy and inexperience when the shops around that diy most can use Samsung pay

Some shop like you said let me try some end up show card error on MST. Some that worked will be standing there amazed.

not worth your hassle and blood pressure..just walk away or proceed to pay with physical card. I kena these sort of cashiers many times but can't be bothered to educate or fight with them anymore...

Samsung pay is too new to many in Malaysia so many so not know what is it.

Just ask can I pay by visa wave or swipe card?

When you use Samsung pay it doesn't require you to key in pin anymore.

If cashier say support visa wave tap on the machine screen.
If cashier say don't support tap your phone at the swipe card area side of the machine.

Samsung pay act as your credit card.

i know this although most cashier are too afraid..they dont even dare to give me try...so dont wanna cause a scene and pay with normal card instead sad.gif

anyone use spay at petronas sucessfully these few days?
i didnt bother to go and try since last weekend.
*
i managed to try it at petronas cyberjaya, worked fine but their process (which is same every other petronas) is very stupid - you need to tag on the reader, pump petrol..then return to get the receipt...you wont get double charged, but the process is just stupid.
