Yea I check with this and another shop called Hobby Garage 3 week ago. Both sold out on matte spray. Ask them when restock, the only say "need check first"and then no more reply lol.
you mean never spray top coat from can or dont spray on gunpla?
my house and work area not airbrush friendly, even spray can a bit problematic also, house quite dusty as near main road
If you can't airbrush, can topcoat works just as good. It's just not economical as airbrushing. On the good side, you don't have to clean your airbrush.
Anyone here uses KKmoon airbrush compressor with tank?
KKMoon was my first airbrush compressor, without tank. It was just basically a generic model with the same specs as other 'brands'. It will do just fine for basic airbrushing.

I see, I'm currently using a shitty china made compressor and it doesn't have a tank or has enough output PSI. I relate this to my failure to achieve chrome mirror finish, do you think it's related?

For mirror chrome, you can achieve it better with chrome powder.
My apologies if my topic is against the forum rules!
A bit off the usual hobby discussion but bear with me:
I've always had this fascination for Gundam kits but never got into the hobby as I was put off with the retail prices here in Malaysia.
Then I went to Japan.
After seeing the insanely low prices at bic camera/yodabashi, what was I waiting for! A few hundred ringgits for 3 kits won't hurt. They just look freakin' awesome.
It is now exactly 2 months since I bought my first kit and now I have bought a total of 7 kits (All Master Grades and 2 High Grades)
Now here's the thing. In the space of 2 months, these are the kits I've bought.
1. MG Aile Strike RM 2. HG Rx-0 Unicorn Titanium Finish 3. HG Blue Astray 2nd L
4. MG MSA-0011 Ex-S 5. MG Shin Musha Sengoku No Jin 6. MG Musha Gundam Mk2 7. MG Red Frame Kai
Of all the kits I've bought, I've only had time to assemble 2 and 3, the easy kits.
It's like I've gone nuts with my buying and no time to truly enjoy assembling. Buying one new kit every week!
....and then there's the issue of buying spray/paint/brushes/markers
......then those Resin kits look fantastic! There are just...SO many.
i used to love gundam and have assembled quite a few HG(mostly gundam W) units during younger times but it's all stock, without accessories like spray/brush/markers etc.
but stock looks ugly and need all the accessories to truly make it shine and the laziness in me stopped me from going further with this hobby ;(
Same bro...because too many hobbies and stuff...building kit need a loads of time and effort to make it shines
in Malaysia, buying from hobby stores will get you better prices than buying TRU, Aeon and the likes. don't really need to go to Japan to enjoy the hobby.
most of the newer MGs don't really require much work. a basic top coat should suffice.

I see, aren't they super expensive and doesn't last long? Or the durability issue doesn't mean much if I'll be layering my paints with clear color + top coat ?
